¹Woe to her that is rebellious and corrupted, to the oppressing city!

¹Beda tomu odbojnému, poškvrnenému a utiskujúcemu mestu!

²She hearkened not to the voice; she received not correction; she confided not in Jehovah; she drew not near her God.

²Nepočúvalo na hlas, neprijalo kázne, nedúfalo v Hospodina, nepriblížilo sa k svojmu Bohu.

³Her princes in the midst of her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves, that leave nothing for the morning.

³Jeho kniežatá v jeho strede sú revúcimi ľvami, jeho sudcovia vlkmi večera, hltaví súc neponechajú ani kosti do rána.

⁴Her prophets are vain-glorious, treacherous persons; her priests profane the sanctuary, they do violence to the law.

⁴Jeho proroci sú ľahkomyseľní, mužovia vierolomných žien, jeho kňazi poškvrňujú svätyňu, násilie robia zákonu.

⁵The righteous Jehovah is in the midst of her: he doeth no wrong. Every morning doth he bring his judgment to light; it faileth not: but the unrighteous knoweth no shame.

⁵Hospodin je spravedlivý v jeho strede, neučiní neprávosti, ráno jako ráno vynáša svoj súd na svetlo; nevystane; ale nešľachetník nezná hanby.

⁶I have cut off nations: their battlements are desolate; I made their streets waste, that none passeth by; their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, so that there is no inhabitant.

⁷I said, Only fear me, receive correction; so her dwelling shall not be cut off, howsoever I may punish her. But they rose early, they corrupted all their doings.

⁷Povedal som: Istotne sa ma budeš báť, prijmeš kázeň. A reku nebude vyplienený jej príbytok všetkým tým, čím ju ináče navštívim. Ale oni hneď ako vstanú, od skorého rána robia porušene, a také sú aj všetky ich skutky.

⁸Therefore wait ye for me, saith Jehovah, until the day that I rise up to the prey; for my determination is to assemble the nations, that I may gather the kingdoms together, to pour upon them mine indignation, -- all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

⁸Preto očakávajte na mňa, hovorí Hospodin, na deň, ktorého povstanem na lúpež; lebo môj súd je spratať národy, aby som shromaždil kráľovstvá nato, aby som vylial na nich svoj zúrivý hnev, všetku páľu svojho hnevu, pretože ohňom mojej žiarlivosti strávená bude celá zem.

⁹For then will I turn to the peoples a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of Jehovah, to serve him with one consent.

⁹Lebo vtedy národom čisté rty, aby všetci vzývali meno Hospodinovo, aby mu slúžili jako jedno plece.

¹⁰From beyond the rivers of Cush my suppliants, the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine oblation.

¹⁰Zpoza riek Ethiopie, moji modlitebníci, modlitebníci dcéry mojich rozptýlených, donesú môj obetný dar obilný.

¹¹In that day thou shalt not be ashamed for all thy doings wherein thou hast transgressed against me; for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that exult in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of my holy mountain.

¹¹Toho dňa sa už nebudeš hanbiť za niktoré svoje skutky, ktorými si sa dopúšťala prestúpenia proti mne; lebo vtedy odstránim z tvojho stredu tých, ktorí plesajú v tvojej pýche, a nebudeš sa už viacej povyšovať na vrchu mojej svätosti.

¹²And I will leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of Jehovah.

¹²A zanechám v tvojom strede ostatok, chudobný ľud a núdzny, a budú sa nadejať na meno Hospodinovo.

¹³The remnant of Israel shall not work unrighteousness, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: but *they* shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.

¹³Ostatok Izraela neučinia neprávosti ani nebudú hovoriť lži, ani sa nenajde v ich ústach jazyk ľsti; ale oni sa budú pásť a kladúc sa budú odpočívať, a nebude toho, kto by prestrašil.

¹⁴Exult, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; rejoice and be glad with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem:

¹⁴Vyspevuj, dcéro Siona! Pokrikuj radostne, Izraelu! Raduj sa a plesaj celým srdcom, dcéro Jeruzalema!

¹⁵Jehovah hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy; the King of Israel, Jehovah, is in the midst of thee; thou shalt not see evil any more.

¹⁵Hospodin odstránil tvoje súdy, odpratal tvojho nepriateľa; kráľ Izraelov, Hospodin, je v tvojom strede; nebudeš sa už viacej báť zlého.

¹⁶In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear not; Zion, let not thy hands be slack.

¹⁶Toho dňa sa povie Jeruzalemu: Neboj sa! Sionu: Nech nezomdlievajú tvoje ruky!

¹⁷Jehovah thy God is in thy midst, a mighty one that will save: he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love; he will exult over thee with singing.

¹⁷Hospodin, tvoj Bôh je v tvojom strede, udatný hrdina, ktorý zachráni. Veseliť sa bude nad tebou radosťou, mlčať bude vo svojej láske, bude plesať nad tebou s prespevovaním.

¹⁸I will gather them that sorrow for the solemn assemblies, who were of thee: the reproach of it was a burden [unto them].

¹⁸Smutných pre slávnosť odpracem; z teba sú, bremenom, preto potupou.

¹⁹Behold, at that time I will deal with all them that afflict thee; and I will save her that halted, and gather her that was driven out; and I will make them a praise and a name in all the lands where they have been put to shame.

¹⁹Hľa, budem konať so všetkými tými, ktorí ťa trápia, toho času, a zachránim kulhavú a zahnanú shromaždím a učiním to, že budú na chválu a na slávne meno po všetkej zemi, kde niesli svoju hanbu.

²⁰At that time will I bring you, yea, at the time that I gather you; for I will make you a name and a praise, among all the peoples of the earth, when I shall turn again your captivity before your eyes, saith Jehovah.

²⁰Toho času vás dovediem, a to času, ktorého vás shromaždím, lebo vás dám na slávne meno a na chválu medzi všetkými národami zeme, keď navrátim zpät vašich zajatých pred vašimi očami, hovorí Hospodin.
