1What then shall we say? Should we continue in sin that grace may abound?
1Zvino tichatiyi? Ticharambira muchivi kuti nyasha dziwande here?
2Far be the thought. We who have died to sin, how shall we still live in it?
2Ngazvisadaro! Isu takafa kuchivi, ticharamba tichirarama sei machiri?
3Are you ignorant that we, as many as have been baptised unto Christ Jesus, have been baptised unto his death?
3Ko hamuzivi here kuti isu tose takabhabhatidzwa muna Kristu Jesu, takabhabhatidzwa murufu rwake?
4We have been buried therefore with him by baptism unto death, in order that, even as Christ has been raised up from among [the] dead by the glory of the Father, so *we* also should walk in newness of life.
4Naizvozvo takavigwa pamwe naye murufu pakubhabhatidzwa; kuti saiye Kristu akamutswa kuvakafa nokubwinya kwaBaba, saizvozvo nesuwo tifambe pautsva hweupenyu.
5For if we are become identified with [him] in the likeness of his death, so also we shall be of [his] resurrection;
5Nekuti kana takasimwa pamwe pakufanana korufu rwake, tichadarowo pakumuka;
6knowing this, that our old man has been crucified with [him], that the body of sin might be annulled, that we should no longer serve sin.
6tichiziva izvi, kuti munhu wedu wekare wakarovererwa pamuchinjikwa pamwe naye, kuti muviri wechivi uparadzwe kuti tisachiva tinoshumira chivi;
7For he that has died is justified from sin.
7nekuti uyo wakafa wasunungurwa pachivi.
8Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him,
8Zvino kana takafa pamwe naKristu, tinotenda kuti tichararamawo pamwe naye;
9knowing that Christ having been raised up from among [the] dead dies no more: death has dominion over him no more.
9tichiziva kuti Kristu amutswa kuvakafa haachazofizve; rufu haruchazovi nesimba pamusoro pake.
10For in that he has died, he has died to sin once for all; but in that he lives, he lives to God.
10Nekuti pane izvi wakafa, wakafa kamwe kuchivi; zvino pakuti mupenyu, mupenyu kuna Mwari.
11So also *ye*, reckon yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.
11Saizvozvo nemwiwo muzviverenge semakafa zvirokwazvo kuchivi, asi vapenyu kuna Mwari kubudikidza naKristu Jesu Ishe wedu.
12Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body to obey its lusts.
12Naizvozvo chivi ngachirege kutonga mumuviri wenyu unofa, kuti muteerere kuchiva kwawo;
13Neither yield your members instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but yield yourselves to God as alive from among [the] dead, and your members instruments of righteousness to God.
13kana kupa mitezo yenyu ive midziyo yekusarurama kuchivi; asi muzvipe imwi kuna Mwari, sevapenyu kuvakafa, nemitezo yenyu ive midziyo yekururama kuna Mwari.
14For sin shall not have dominion over *you*, for ye are not under law but under grace.
14Nekuti chivi hachitongi pamusoro penyu; nekuti hamusi pasi pemurairo, asi pasi penyasha.
15What then? should we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Far be the thought.
15Zvino tichatiyi? Tichatadza here, nekuti hatisi pasi pemurairo, asi pasi penyasha? Ngazvisadaro!
16Know ye not that to whom ye yield yourselves bondmen for obedience, ye are bondmen to him whom ye obey, whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
16Hamuzivi here kuti uyo wamunozvipa kwaari muve varanda vekumuteerera, muri varanda vaiye wamunoteerera; kana vechivi chinoisa kurufu, kana vekuteerera kunoisa kukururama?
17But thanks [be] to God, that ye were bondmen of sin, but have obeyed from the heart the form of teaching into which ye were instructed.
17Asi Mwari ngaavongwe, kuti imwi maiva varanda vechivi, asi mava kuteerera kubva pamoyo rudzi urwu rwedzidziso yamakakumikidzwa kwairi,
18Now, having got your freedom from sin, ye have become bondmen to righteousness.
18uye masunungurwa kubva pachivi, makava varanda vekururama.
19I speak humanly on account of the weakness of your flesh. For even as ye have yielded your members in bondage to uncleanness and to lawlessness unto lawlessness, so now yield your members in bondage to righteousness unto holiness.
19Ndinotaura semutauriro wevanhu, nekuda kweutera hwenyama yenyu; nekuti sezvamakapa mitezo yenyu kuva varanda kutsvina, neuipi zvinoisa kune zvakaipa, saizvozvo zvino ipai mitezo yenyu ive varanda vekururama kunoisa kuutsvene.
20For when ye were bondmen of sin ye were free from righteousness.
20Nekuti pamaiva varanda vechivi, makange makasununguka pakururama.
21What fruit therefore had ye *then* in the things of which ye are *now* ashamed? for the end of *them* [is] death.
21Zvino maiva nezvibereko zvei pazvinhu izvo zvamava kunyadziswa nazvo zvino? Nekuti kuguma kwezvinhu izvo rufu.
22But *now*, having got your freedom from sin, and having become bondmen to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end eternal life.
22Asi zvino zvamakasunungurwa pachivi, mukava varanda kuna Mwari, mune chibereko chenyu chinoisa kuutsvene, uye kuguma kwazvo upenyu hwusingaperi.
23For the wages of sin [is] death; but the act of favour of God, eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
23Nekuti mubairo wechivi rufu; asi chipo chenyasha chaMwari upenyu hwusingaperi kubudikidza naKristu Jesu Ishe wedu.
