¹Thou therefore, my child, be strong in the grace which [is] in Christ Jesus.

²And the things thou hast heard of me in the presence of many witnesses, these entrust to faithful men, such as shall be competent to instruct others also.

² Hayey din kaŋ ni maa ay do mo seeda boobo jine, kala ni m'i talfi boro naanaykoyyaŋ gaa kaŋ yaŋ ga hin ka afooyaŋ mo dondonandi koyne.

³Take thy share in suffering as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

³ Ma maa taabi ay banda sanda Almasihu Yesu sooje hanno.

⁴No one going as a soldier entangles himself with the affairs of life, that he may please him who has enlisted him as a soldier.

⁴ Sooje kulu si nga boŋ didiji nda ndunnya wo muraadu, hala bora kaŋ n'a suuban ma maa a kaani.

⁵And if also any one contend [in the games], he is not crowned unless he contend lawfully.

⁵ Da boro go yoonay ra mo, i s'a alhakko no a se kala nd'a n'a te da mate kaŋ cine a ga hima nd'a.

⁶The husbandman must labour before partaking of the fruits.

⁶ A ga hima mo farikoy kaŋ go ga goy ma jin k'a albarka ŋwa.

⁷Think of what I say, for the Lord will give thee understanding in all things.

⁷ Ni ma laakal daŋ haŋ kaŋ ay go ga ci gaa, gaa no Rabbi ga fahamay no ni se hay kulu ra.

⁸Remember Jesus Christ raised from among [the] dead, of [the] seed of David, according to my glad tidings,

⁸ Ma fongu nda Yesu Almasihu kaŋ tun ka fun buukoy game ra, nga kaŋ fun Dawda dumo gaa, ay Baaru Hanna boŋ.

⁹in which I suffer even unto bonds as an evil-doer: but the word of God is not bound.

⁹ Barru Hanna din sabbay se no ay goono ga taabi hal i n'ay haw danga zambante cine. Day, i mana Irikoy sanno haw.

¹⁰For this cause I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that *they* also may obtain the salvation which [is] in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

¹⁰ Woodin sabbay se no ay goono ga suuru nda hay kulu borey kaŋ Irikoy suuban sabbay se, zama ngey mo ma du faaba kaŋ go Almasihu Yesu ra da hal abada darza.

¹¹The word [is] faithful; for if we have died together with [him], we shall also live together;

¹¹ Sanno wo naanaykoy no: D'iri bu Almasihu banda, iri ga funa mo a banda.

¹²if we endure, we shall also reign together; if we deny, *he* also will deny us;

¹² D'iri go ga suuru, iri ga koytaray ŋwa mo a banda. D'iri n'a ze, nga mo g'iri ze.

¹³if we are unfaithful, *he* abides faithful, for he cannot deny himself.

¹³ D'iri wo sinda naanay, nga wo go naanaykoy, zama a si hin ka wangu nga boŋ.

¹⁴Of these things put in remembrance, testifying earnestly before the Lord not to have disputes of words, profitable for nothing, to the subversion of the hearers.

¹⁴ Ma borey fongandi nda hayey din k'i lordi Irikoy jine i ma si kakaw sann'izey boŋ, zama woodin si hay kulu hanse, kal a ma borey kaŋ ga maa halaci.

¹⁵Strive diligently to present thyself approved to God, a workman that has not to be ashamed, cutting in a straight line the word of truth.

¹⁵ Ma gurjay ka ni boŋ salle yaddante Irikoy se, goy-teeri kaŋ sinda haawi mafaari, kaŋ goono ga cimi sanno fay-fay mate kaŋ a ga hima.

¹⁶But profane, vain babblings shun, for they will advance to greater impiety,

¹⁶ Amma ma fay da sanney kaŋ sinda nafa da wo kaŋ yaŋ manti Irikoy wane, zama i teekoy ga borey candi ka konda Irikoy wangay ra.

¹⁷and their word will spread as a gangrene; of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;

¹⁷ I dondonandiyaŋo mo ga ŋwa danga bi ŋwaari cine. Himinayos da Filitos mo go i ra,

¹⁸[men] who as to the truth have gone astray, saying that the resurrection has taken place already; and overthrow the faith of some.

¹⁸ kaŋ yaŋ kamba cimi fonda gaa. I goono ga ne buukoy tunyaŋo jin ka te, i goono ga boro fooyaŋ cimbeero zeeri mo.

¹⁹Yet the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, [The] Lord knows those that are his; and, Let every one who names the name of [the] Lord withdraw from iniquity.

¹⁹ Kulu nda yaadin, Irikoy daba gaabikoono si zinji. A kawaatimo ga ti Rabbi ga bay boro kaŋ ga ti nga wane. Koyne, boro kulu kaŋ goono ga Rabbi maa ce ma fay da goy laalo.

²⁰But in a great house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also wooden and earthen; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

²⁰ Amma fu bambata ra manti wura da nzarfu jinayyaŋ hinne no go no, amma bundu nda botogo wane yaŋ mo go no. Afooyaŋ darza goy wane yaŋ no, afooyaŋ mo kayna goy wane yaŋ no.

²¹If therefore one shall have purified himself from these, [in separating himself from them], he shall be a vessel to honour, sanctified, serviceable to the Master, prepared for every good work.

²¹ Boro kulu kaŋ ga nga boŋ hanandi ka waana kayna waney ga ciya darza goy teeyaŋ jinay, kaŋ i fay waani. A gonda nafa mo nga Koyo se. A go soolante goy hanno kulu se.

²²But youthful lusts flee, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace, with those that call upon the Lord out of a pure heart.

²² Ma zuru zankataray ibaay laaley se. Ma soobay ka adilitaray, da cimbeeri, da baakasinay da laakal kanay gana, borey banda kaŋ yaŋ goono ga Rabbi ce da bine hanno yaŋ.

²³But foolish and senseless questionings avoid, knowing that they beget contentions.

²³ Amma ma fay da kakaw yaamey da saamotaray waney, za kaŋ ni ga bay kaŋ i ga kande yanje.

²⁴And a bondman of [the] Lord ought not to contend, but be gentle towards all; apt to teach; forbearing;

²⁴ A ga hima mo Rabbi bannya ma si yanje, amma a ma ciya baanikom boro kulu se. A ma ciya dondonandiko hanno kaŋ gonda suuru.

²⁵in meekness setting right those who oppose, if God perhaps may sometime give them repentance to acknowledgment of [the] truth,

²⁵ A ma ciya mo goojiko borey kaŋ ga gaaba nd'a se lalabu ra, zama hambara Irikoy ga naŋ i ma tuubi hal i ma du ka cimo bay gumo.

²⁶and that they may awake up out of the snare of the devil, [who are] taken by him, for *his* will.

²⁶ I ma ye ngey laakaley gaa mo ka fun Iblisi hirrimo ra, nga kaŋ n'i di k'i tilasandi i ma nga miila te.
