1I composed the first discourse, O Theophilus, concerning all things which Jesus began both to do and to teach,
2until that day in which, having by the Holy Spirit charged the apostles whom he had chosen, he was taken up;
2 kal a koy ka to hano kaŋ hane Irikoy kond'a beene.
3to whom also he presented himself living, after he had suffered, with many proofs; being seen by them during forty days, and speaking of the things which concern the kingdom of God;
4and, being assembled with [them], commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to await the promise of the Father, which [said he] ye have heard of me.
4 Waato kaŋ i goono ga margu care banda, Yesu n'i lordi ka ne i ma si fun Urusalima*, amma i ma Baabo alkawlo batu, «wo kaŋ araŋ maa ay do.
5For John indeed baptised with water, but *ye* shall be baptised with the Holy Spirit after now not many days.
6They therefore, being come together, asked him saying, Lord, is it at this time that thou restorest the kingdom to Israel?
6 Waato kaŋ borey din margu care banda mo, i na Yesu hã ka ne: «Rabbi, sohõ no ni ga koytara ye Israyla* kambe ra?»
7And he said to them, It is not yours to know times or seasons, which the Father has placed in his own authority;
8but ye will receive power, the Holy Spirit having come upon you, and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
8 Amma araŋ ga du dabari, waati kaŋ Biya Hanna ga zumbu araŋ boŋ. Araŋ ga ciya mo ay seedayaŋ Urusalima ra, da Yahudiya* da Samariya laabey kulu ra, hala ndunnya kulu me mo.»
9And having said these things he was taken up, they beholding [him], and a cloud received him out of their sight.
9 Waato kaŋ a na hayey din ci, i go ga Yesu guna mo, kala jama di a go ga koy beene. Buru fo mo n'a ta kal a daray i se.
10And as they were gazing into heaven, as he was going, behold, also two men stood by them in white clothing,
10 Za i go fonnayyaŋo gaa mo, kaŋ a goono ga ziji ka koy beene, kala boro hinka kaŋ yaŋ gonda bankaaray kwaaray go ga kay jama jarga.
11who also said, Men of Galilee, why do ye stand looking into heaven? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven, shall thus come in the manner in which ye have beheld him going into heaven.
11 I ne jama se: «He! Araŋ Galili borey, ifo se no araŋ go ne ga kay ka beene guna? Yesu wo, kaŋ tun araŋ do ka koy beena ra, mate kaŋ cine araŋ di a koyyaŋo beena ra, yaadin cine mo no a ga ye ka kaa.»
12Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called [the mount] of Olives, which is near Jerusalem, a sabbath-day's journey off.
12 Gaa no i ye ka kaa Urusalima ka fun tondo boŋ kaŋ se i ga ne Zeytun* Tondo, kaŋ ga maan Urusalima. Asibti* zaari diraw cine no go Zeytun Tondo da Urusalima game ra.
13And when they were come into [the city], they went up to the upper chamber, where were staying both Peter, and John, and James, and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James [son] of Alphaeus, and Simon the zealot, and Jude [the brother] of James.
13 Waato kaŋ i to fu mo, i kaaru ka furo jidan bisa ra, i zumbuyaŋo do.
14These gave themselves all with one accord to continual prayer, with [several] women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
15And in those days Peter, standing up in the midst of the brethren, said, (the crowd of names [who were] together [was] about a hundred and twenty,)
16Brethren, it was necessary that the scripture should have been fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before, by the mouth of David, concerning Judas, who became guide to those who took Jesus;
16 «Ay nya-ize alborey, a ga tilas Irikoy Tira Hanna sanno ma to kaŋ Biya Hanna jin ka ci Dawda me ra Yahuta ciine ra, nga kaŋ ciya fondo cabeko Yesu diikoy se.
17for he was numbered amongst us, and had received a part in this service.
17 Nga kaŋ waato i n'a kabu iri banda, a na nga baa ta mo goyo woone ra.
18(This [man] then indeed got a field with [the] reward of iniquity, and, having fallen down headlong, burst in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.
18 Yahuta binde du batama fo, nga zamba alhakko wane. A kaŋ jinde-jinde, a gunda faw mo hal a teeley kulu gusam ganda.
19And it was known to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that that field was called in their own dialect Aceldama; that is, field of blood.)
19 Woone mo hari no kaŋ Urusalima gorokoy kulu du a baaru, hal i goono ga ne faro din se ngey sanno ra Alkadama, sanda kuri fari nooya.
20For it is written in [the] book of Psalms, Let his homestead become desolate, and let there be no dweller in it; and, Let another take his overseership.
20 Zama i hantum Zabura* tira ra ka ne: ‹A nangora ma ciya kurmu, boro kulu ma si goro a ra mo. Boro fo mo m'a goyo sambu.›
21It is necessary therefore, that of the men who have assembled with us all [the] time in which the Lord Jesus came in and went out among us,
21 Boroyaŋ go no iri banda jirbey kulu ra kaŋ Rabbi Yesu go ga furo ka fatta iri game ra,
22beginning from the baptism of John until the day in which he was taken up from us, one of these should be a witness with us of his resurrection.
22 za Yohanna baptisma gaa kal a ma to hano kaŋ hane Yesu tun iri game ra ka koy beene. Tilas kal i ra boro fo ma ciya Yesu tunyaŋo se seeda iri banda.»
23And they appointed two, Joseph, who was called Barsabas, who had been surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
24And they prayed, and said, Thou Lord, knower of the hearts of all, shew which one of these two thou hast chosen,
24 I te adduwa ka ne: «Ya Rabbi, nin kaŋ ga boro kulu biney bay, boro hinka din ra, ma cabe bora kaŋ ni suuban,
25to receive the lot of this service and apostleship, from which Judas transgressing fell to go to his own place.
25 zama a ma nangu wo sambu goyo wo ra da diyataray ra kaŋ ra Yahuta fun ka koy nga boŋ nango ra.»
26And they gave lots on them, and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
26 I na kurne te i boŋ. Kala kurna na Mattiyas di. I n'a lasaabu mo diya way cindi hinkanta.
