14

1And there came certain of the elders of Israel unto me, and sat before me.
2And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
2 Rabbi sanno mo kaa ay do ka ne:
3Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumbling-block of their iniquity before their face: should I be inquired of at all by them?
3 Boro izo, borey wo na ngey toorey sinji ngey biney ra. I laalayaŋo kaŋ g'i daŋ i ma kati, i n'a sinji ngey moydumey jine. A ga saba i ma saaware fo ceeci ay gaa, wala?
4Therefore speak to them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumbling-block of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet, I Jehovah will answer him according to this, according to the multitude of his idols:
4 Ni binde ma salaŋ i se ka ne: Yaa no Rabbi, Koy Beero ci: Israyla dumo boro fo kulu kaŋ na nga tooro sinji nga bina ra, a na laala kaŋ ga naŋ nga ma kati sinji nga moyduma jine, gaa no a ga koy annabi do -- ay, Rabbi, ay ga tu a se da mate kaŋ ga saba nd'a toorey baayaŋo,
5that I may take the house of Israel by their own heart, because they are all estranged from me through their idols.
6Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Return ye, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.
6 Ni binde, ma ne Israyla dumo se: Yaa no Rabbi, Koy Beero ci: Wa tuubi ka bare ka fay d'araŋ toorey. W'araŋ moydumey hibandi ka kaa araŋ fanta harey do.
7For every one of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, who separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumbling-block of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet to inquire of me by him, I Jehovah will answer him by myself;
7 Zama Israyla dumi boro fo kulu, wala yaw kaŋ goono ga goro Israyla ra, kaŋ na nga boŋ fay d'ay, a na nga tooro sinji nga bina ra, a na laala kaŋ ga naŋ nga ma kati sinji nga moyduma jine, a ma koy annabi do mo zama nga ma ceeci ay gaa -- ay wo, Rabbi, ay ga tu a se, ay bumbo.
8and I will set my face against that man, and will make him desolate, [so that he shall be] for a sign and for proverbs, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people: and ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah.
8 Ay g'ay moyduma sinji bora din koy gaa da gaaba, y'a ciya alaama da yaasay mo, y'a dagu ka kaa ay jama ra. Woodin gaa no araŋ ga bay kaŋ ay no ga ti Rabbi.
9And if the prophet be enticed and shall speak a word, I Jehovah have enticed that prophet; and I will stretch out my hand against him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.
9 Da mo a ciya i hin annabo din, hala mo a salaŋ, ay, Rabbi no ka hin a. Ay g'ay kamba salle a boŋ, y'a pati ka kaa ay jama Israyla ra.
10And they shall bear their iniquity: the iniquity of the prophet shall be even as the iniquity of the inquirer;
10 I ga ngey zunubey alhakko sambu. Annabo zunubo ga saba nda bora kaŋ n'a ceeci din wano cine.
11that the house of Israel may go no more astray from me, neither make themselves any more unclean with all their transgressions; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, saith the Lord Jehovah.
Yaadin no Rabbi, Koy Beero ci.
12And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
12 Rabbi sanno kaa ay do koyne ka ne:
13Son of man, when a land sinneth against me by working unfaithfulness, and I stretch out my hand upon it, and break the staff of the bread thereof, and send famine upon it, and cut off man and beast from it;
13 Ya boro izo, da laabu fo na zunubi te ay se, danga naanay feeriyaŋ kaŋ i te ay se boŋ nooya, d'ay mo n'ay kambe salle a boŋ, ay ma ŋwaari daabu a se, kaŋ ga ti fundi gaabandiyaŋ hari, ay ma haray zumandi a boŋ, ay ma boro nda alman tuusu ka kaa a ra,
14though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, should be in it, they should deliver [but] their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord Jehovah.
14 baa day i ne boro hinzo wo, sanda Nuhu nda Daniyel da Ayuba nooya, i go laabo din ra, ngey bumbey fundey hinne no i ga faaba ngey adilitara ra. Yaadin no Rabbi, Koy Beero ci.
15If I cause evil beasts to pass through the land, and they bereave it, and it become a desolation, so that no one passeth through because of the beasts;
15 Wala mo, d'ay naŋ ganji ham kaŋ ga boro ŋwa ma bar-bare nangu kulu laabo ra, a ma laabo halaci mo, hal a ma ciya boro kulu si no a ra, boro si no mo kaŋ ga hin ka gana a ra ganji hamey din sabbay se --
16-- though these three men should be in it, [as] I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, they should deliver neither sons nor daughters: they only should be delivered, and the land should be a desolation.
16 baa da boro hinza din go no a ra, ay ze d'ay fundo, ay, Rabbi, Koy Beero, i si ize aru wala ize way yaŋ faaba. Ngey din hinne no ga du ka yana, amma laabo ga ciya kurmu.
17Or [if] I bring the sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land, so that I cut off man and beast from it,
17 Wala mo, d'ay na takuba candi ka kande laabo din gaa, ay ma ne: Takuba, kala ni ma gana laabo ra hal i ma boro nda alman kulu tuusu ka kaa a ra --
18and these three men should be in it, [as] I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, they should deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only themselves should be delivered.
18 baa da boro hinza din go no laabo din ra, ay ze d'ay fundo, ay wo, Rabbi, Koy Beero, i si izey aru wala ize way yaŋ faaba. Ngey din hinne no ga du ka yana.
19Or [if] I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast,
19 Wala mo, d'ay na balaaw samba laabo din ra, ay n'ay futa gusam a boŋ da wiyaŋ, zama i ma boro nda alman kulu tuusu ka kaa a ra --
20and Noah, Daniel, and Job should be in it, [as] I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, they should deliver neither son nor daughter: they should [but] deliver their own souls by their righteousness.
20 baa da Nuhu nda Daniyel da Ayuba go laabo din ra, ay ze d'ay fundo, ay, Rabbi, Koy Beero, i si ize aru wala ize way faaba. Ngey fundey hinne no i ga faaba ngey adilitara ra.
21For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the evil beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast!
21 Yaa no Rabbi, Koy Beero ci: Sanku fa binde d'ay n'ay ciiti beeri taaca kaŋ ga koroŋ samba Urusalima boŋ.
22But behold, there shall be left in it those that escape, who shall be brought out of [it], sons and daughters. Behold, they shall come forth unto you, and ye shall see their way and their doings; and ye shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, as to all that I have brought upon it.
22 Amma a go, i ga afooyaŋ cindi a ra kaŋ ga du ka yana, ize aru nda ize way yaŋ. A go, i ga fatta ka kaa araŋ do, araŋ ga d'i muraadey d'i goyey mo.
23And they shall comfort you, when ye see their way and their doings; and ye shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, saith the Lord Jehovah.
23 I g'araŋ biney gaabandi waati kaŋ araŋ di i muraadey d'i goyey mo. Yaadin no Rabbi, Koy Beero ci.
