Hosea

1

1The word of Jehovah that came unto Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.
1 Rabbi sanno kaŋ kaa Hoseya Beeri izo do neeya. A kaa Yahuda bonkooney Uzziya nda Yotam da Ahaz da Hezeciya zamaney ra, da Israyla* bonkoono Yerobowam Yowasa izo zamana ra mo.
2The beginning of the word of Jehovah through Hosea. And Jehovah said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms, and children of whoredoms; for the land is entirely given up to whoredom, away from Jehovah.
2 Waato kaŋ Rabbi sintin ka salaŋ da Hoseya meyo, Rabbi ne Hoseya se: «Koy ka sambu kaaruwa k'a ciya ni wande, ma kande kaaruwa izey a banda mo, sanda misa cine zama laabo go zina teeyaŋ gaa gumo, a goono ga fay da ay, kaŋ ga ti Rabbi.»
3And he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; and she conceived and bore him a son.
3 Kal a koy ka Gomer Diblayim ize hiiji. Nga mo te gunde ka hay a se ize aru.
4And Jehovah said unto him, Call his name Jizreel; for yet a little, and I will visit the blood of Jizreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause the kingdom of the house of Israel to cease.
4 Rabbi ne a se mo: «Ni m'a maa daŋ Irikoy dumari, zama ne ka koy alwaati kayna ay ga Yezreyel kwaara kuro alhakku bana Yehu dumo gaa. Ay ga naŋ mo Israyla dumo koytara ma ban.
5And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jizreel.
5 A ga ciya mo han din hane, ay ga Israyla birawo ceeri Yezreyel gooro ra.»
6And she conceived again, and bore a daughter. And he said unto him, Call her name Lo-ruhamah; for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel, so that I should pardon them.
6 Kala Gomer ye ka te gunde, a hay wayboro. Rabbi ne Hoseya se: «Ni m'a maa daŋ I-si-bakar, zama ay si ye ka bakar Israyla dumo se koyne, hal ay m'i yaafa baa kayna.
7But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by Jehovah their God; and I will not save them by bow, or by sword, or by battle, [or] by horses, or by horsemen.
7 Amma ay ga bakar Yahuda dumo se. Ay, Rabbi i Irikoyo, ay kamba no g'i faaba. Ay si i faaba nda biraw, wala nda takuba, wala nda tangami, wala nda bariyaŋ, wala nda bari-kariyaŋ.»
8And she weaned Lo-ruhamah; and she conceived and bore a son;
8 Waato kaŋ Gomer na I-si-bakar kaa wa, a ye ka te gunde ka hay ize aru koyne.
9and he said, Call his name Lo-ammi; for ye are not my people, and I will not be for you.
9 Rabbi ne: «Ma nga wo maa daŋ, Manti-ay-jama no. Zama araŋ wo manti ay jama no, ay mo manti araŋ Irikoyo no.»
10Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea which cannot be measured or numbered; and it shall come to pass, [that] in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, it shall be said unto them, Sons of the living ùGod.
11And the children of Judah and the children of Israel shall be gathered together, and they shall appoint themselves one head, and shall go up out of the land: for great is the day of Jizreel.
