Hosea

8

1Set the trumpet to thy mouth. [He cometh] as an eagle against the house of Jehovah, because they have transgressed my covenant, and rebelled against my law.
1 Ma hilli daŋ ni meyo gaa! Ibara go ga kaa Rabbi windo gaa danga zeeban cine, Zama jama n'ay sappa daaru, i murte mo ay asariya gaa.
2They shall cry unto me, My God, we know thee; [we], Israel.
2 I g'ay ce ka ne: «Ya ay Irikoyo, iri wo, Israyla, iri na ni bay!»
3Israel hath cast off good: the enemy shall pursue him.
3 Israyla na haŋ kaŋ ga boori furu, ibarey g'a gaaray mo.
4They have set up kings, but not by me; they have made princes, and I knew it not; of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.
5Thy calf, O Samaria, hath cast [thee] off; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will they be incapable of purity?
5 Ya Samariya, ay wangu araŋ handayze ka ne: «Ay futa ga koroŋ borey boŋ!» Waati fo no i ga to bine hananyaŋ gaa?
6For from Israel is this also: -- a workman made it, and it is no God: for the calf of Samaria shall be [broken in] pieces.
6 Zama Israyla do no woodin fun, kambe goy-teeri mo no k'a te, Woodin binde manti Irikoy no. Daahir i ga Samariya handayzo bagu-bagu.
7For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk; should it sprout, it would yield no meal; if so be it yield, strangers shall swallow it up.
7 Za kaŋ i na haw kaŋ ga faaru duma, I ga beene hari haw bambata wi mo. Ntaasu jeeni si no kwaaro gaa, Kwaaro mo si te hamni. Baa a na mo daŋ, yawyaŋ no g'a gon.
8Israel is swallowed up: now are they become among the nations as a vessel wherein is no pleasure.
8 I na Israyla gon! Sohõ i go dumi cindey game ra, Sanda sintili kaŋ boro kulu si ba r'a cine.
9For they are gone up [to] Assyria [as] a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath hired lovers.
9 Zama i kaaru ka koy Assiriya, Danga ganji farka kaŋ go nga fo, nga hinne. Ifraymu mo na aruyaŋ sufuray.
10Although they hire among the nations, now will I gather them, and they shall begin to be straitened under the burden of the king of princes.
10 Oho, baa i na afooyaŋ sufuray dumi cindey ra, Kulu nda yaadin sohõ ay g'i margu, I ga sintin ka zabu mo bonkooni beero jarawo sabbay se.
11Because Ephraim hath multiplied altars to sin, altars shall be unto him to sin.
11 Za kaŋ Ifraymu na sargay feema boobo te zunubi se, Ngey mo, i ciya a se zunubi hari.
12I have prescribed unto him the manifold things of my law: they are counted [as] a strange thing.
12 Baa kaŋ ay na asariya hantum a se lordi zambar-zambar yaŋ ra, I n'i himandi danga muraadu yawyaŋ no.
13They sacrifice flesh [for] the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat it; Jehovah hath no delight in them. Now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.
13 Guna, ay nooyaŋ sargayey sanni, i ga ham sarga, I ga ŋwa mo, amma Rabbi si i ta. Sohõ a ga fongu i taalo gaa, K'i gurzugandi i zunubey se. I ga ye ka koy Misira mo.
14For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.
14 Zama Israyla dinya nga Takakwa, A na bonkooni windiyaŋ cina. Yahuda mo na wongu birni boobo te. Amma ay ga danji daŋ a birney gaa kaŋ g'i jidan bisey ŋwa.
