Isaiah

36

1And it came to pass in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah, that Sennacherib king of Assyria came up against all the fortified cities of Judah, and took them.
1 A ciya mo, Bonkoono Hezeciya jiiri way cindi taacanta ra Assiriya bonkoono Sennakerib ziji ka kaa ka Yahuda gallu cinari gaabikooney kulu wongu, a n'i ŋwa mo.
2And the king of Assyria sent Rab-shakeh from Lachish to Jerusalem, to king Hezekiah, with a strong force. And he stood by the aqueduct of the upper pool, on the highway of the fuller's field.
2 Assiriya bonkoono binde na Rabsake donton a ma fun Lacis ka koy Bonkoono Hezeciya do Urusalima. A koy mo nga nda wongu marga kunda boobo. A binde kay bango hari fonda jarga, wo kaŋ go beene kaarukoy fari fonda gaa haray.
3Then came forth to him Eliakim the son of Hilkijah, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph, the chronicler.
3 Kala Eliyacim Hilciya izo, kaŋ ga faada almayaaley dabari fatta ka koy a do, nga nda Sebna kaŋ ga tirey hantum, da Yoha, Asaf izo kaŋ ga tirey gaay.
4And Rab-shakeh said to them, Say now to Hezekiah, Thus says the great king, the king of Assyria: What confidence is this in which thou trustest?
4 Rabsake mo ne i se: «Sohõ araŋ ma ci Hezeciya se: Yaa no bonkooni beero, Assiriya bonkoono ci: ‹Deyaŋ hari woofo dumi gaa no ni goono ga jeeri?
5Thou sayest, but it is a word of the lips, [There is] counsel and strength for war. Now on whom dost thou rely, that thou hast revolted against me?
5 Ay ga ci ni se kaŋ ni saawara da ni wongu gaabo kulu sanni yaamoyaŋ no. May no bora binde, kaŋ gaa ni goono ga jeeri kaŋ se ni murte ay gaa?
6Behold, thou reliest upon the staff of that broken reed, upon Egypt, on which if a man lean, it goes into his hand, and pierces it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all that rely upon him.
6 A go, ni goono ga jeeri goobo wo gaa kaŋ kwaari ceero no, kaŋ ga ti Misira. Da boro jeeri haya din dumi gaa, kal a ma furo bora kamba ra k'a gooru. Yaadin cine no Misira bonkoono Firawna bara nd'a boro kulu kaŋ ga jeeri a gaa se.
7And if thou say to me, We rely upon Jehovah our God: is it not he, whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah has removed, saying to Judah and Jerusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar?
7 Amma da ni ne ay se araŋ ga de Rabbi araŋ Irikoyo gaa -- manti nga no Hezeciya n'a sududuyaŋ nangey d'a sargay feemey hibandi? A ne mo Yahuda nda Urusalima se: Feema woone jine no araŋ ga sududu.›
8And now engage, I pray thee, with my master the king of Assyria, and I will give thee two thousand horses, if thou be able on thy part to set riders upon them.
8 Sohõ binde, ay ga ni ŋwaaray, ma caaca nd'ay koyo Assiriya bonkoono: ay ga ni no bari zambar hinka, da nin wo, ni do haray ni ga hin ka kaarukoyaŋ dake i boŋ.
9How then wilt thou turn away the face of one captain of the least of my master's servants? And thou reliest upon Egypt for chariots and for horsemen!
9 Mate binde no ni ga te ka yaarukom folloŋ bare ka ye banda ay koyo bannyey ra, baa i kulu ikayna? Ni goono ga jeeri Misira gaa. To, ni ga du wongu torko nda bari-kariyaŋ noodin?
10And now am I come up without Jehovah against this land to destroy it? Jehovah said to me, Go up against this land and destroy it.
10 Ay mo sohõ, ay tun ay ma laabo wo halaci se, kaŋ nda manti Rabbi yaddayaŋ boŋ no? Rabbi no ka ne ay se ay ma koy ka laabo wo wongu k'a halaci.»
11And Eliakim and Shebna and Joah said to Rab-shakeh, Speak, we pray thee, to thy servants in Syriac, for we understand it; and speak not to us in the Jewish [language] in the ears of the people that are upon the wall.
12And Rab-shakeh said, Is it to thy master and to thee that my master sent me to speak these words? Is it not to the men that sit on the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own urine with you?
12 Amma Rabsake ne: «E! Ay koyo n'ay donton nin da ni koyo hinne do no, hal ay ma sanni woone yaŋ ci? Manti borey kaŋ go ga goro birni cinaro boŋ yaŋ gaa mo no a n'ay donton, i ma ngey wuri ŋwa, i ma ngey hari-mun haŋ mo araŋ banda?»
13And Rab-shakeh stood and cried with a loud voice in the Jewish [language], and said, Hear the words of the great king, the king of Assyria!
13 Kala Rabsake kay noodin ka ce da jinde beeri Yahudancey sanni ra ka ne: «Wa maa koy bambata, Assiriya bonkoono sanney!
14Thus says the king: Let not Hezekiah deceive you; for he will not be able to deliver you.
14 Yaa no bonkoono ci: Wa si ta Hezeciya m'araŋ halli, zama a si hin ka araŋ faaba bo.
15Neither let Hezekiah make you rely upon Jehovah, saying, Jehovah will certainly deliver us; this city shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.
15 Hezeciya ma si naŋ mo araŋ ma de Rabbi gaa ka ne: Daahir Rabbi g'iri faaba hala gallo wo ma si furo Assiriya bonkoono kambe ra.
16Hearken not to Hezekiah; for thus says the king of Assyria: Make peace with me and come out to me; and eat every one of his vine, and every one of his fig-tree, and drink every one the waters of his own cistern;
16 Wa si hangan Hezeciya sanney se fa, zama yaa no Assiriya bonkoono ci: Wa amaana te da ay, wa fatta mo ka kaa ay do. Boro kulu ma nga reyzin nyaŋo nafa ŋwa, boro kulu ma ŋwa nga jeejay nyaŋo gaa, araŋ boro fo kulu ma haŋ nga bumbo dayo gaa,
17until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of corn and wine, a land of bread and vineyards.
17 hal a ga to alwaati kaŋ ay ga kaa k'araŋ sambu ka konda araŋ laabu fo ra kaŋ ga hima araŋ laabo. A gonda ntaasu nda reyzin hari, laabu no kaŋ gonda ŋwaari nda reyzin kaliyaŋ.
18Let not Hezekiah persuade you, saying, Jehovah will deliver us. Has any of the gods of the nations delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?
18 Wa haggoy Hezeciya ma si koy ka araŋ candi nda sanniyaŋ ka ne: ‹Rabbi g'iri faaba.› Ndunnya dumey de-koyey ra gonda wo kaŋ na nga laabo boro folloŋ faaba Assiriya bonkoono kambe ra no?
19Where are the gods of Hamath and of Arpad? where are the gods of Sepharvaim? and have they delivered Samaria out of my hand?
19 Man Hamat da Arpad de-koyey? Man gaa Sefarbayim de-koyey? Waatifo no i na Samariya faaba ay kambe ra?
20Who are they among all the gods of these countries that have delivered their country out of my hand, that Jehovah should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?
20 Laabey din kulu de-koyey ra, woofo no ka nga laabo faaba ay kambe ra, hala Rabbi mo ma Urusalima faaba ay kambe ra?»
21And they were silent, and answered him not a word; for the king's command was, saying, Answer him not.
21 Amma jama dangay siw! I mana tu a se da baa sann'ize folloŋ, zama bonkoono lordi ka ne i ma si tu a se.
22And Eliakim the son of Hilkijah, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph, the chronicler, came to Hezekiah, with their garments rent, and told him the words of Rab-shakeh.
22 Waato din gaa Eliyacim Hilciya izo kaŋ ga faada almayaaley dabari, da Sebna kaŋ ga tirey hantum, da Yoha, Asaf izo kaŋ ga tirey gaay, i ye ka kaa Hezeciya do da ngey bankaarayey toorante* yaŋ ka Rabsake sanney ci a se.
