47

1The word of Jehovah that came to the prophet Jeremiah concerning the Philistines, before Pharaoh smote Gazah.
1 Rabbi sanno kaa annabi Irimiya do Filistancey boŋ, za Firawna mana Gaza kar jina.
2Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall become an overflowing flood, and shall overflow the land, and all that is therein; the city, and them that dwell therein: and the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall howl,
2 Yaa no Rabbi ci: A go, hari boobo no ga tun azawa kambe haray, Kaŋ ga ciya gooru kaŋ gonda hari-yaa*. A ga bambari laabo da hay kulu kaŋ go a ra boŋ, Da gallo nda ngey kaŋ goono ga goro a ra boŋ. Alborey ga jinde tunandi, Laabo ra gorokoy kulu ga baray mo.
3at the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his steeds, at the rushing of his chariots, at the rumbling of his wheels: fathers shall not look back for [their] children, from feebleness of hands;
3 A gaabikooney haabayaŋo ce camsey yooja maayaŋ, D'a wongu torkey zura, D'a kangey kosongo sabbay se, Baabey si baa zagu ngey ma du ka ngey izey faaba se, Zama i kambey londey bu.
4because of the day that cometh to lay waste all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Sidon every helper that remaineth; for Jehovah will lay waste the Philistines, the remnant of the island of Caphtor.
4 _Hayo ga te|_ zaaro kaŋ goono ga kaa sabbay se, Kaŋ ra i ga Filistancey kulu halaci. Ay ga Tir da Sidon gaako kulu kaŋ cindi kosu ka kaa i gaa, Zama Rabbi ga Filistancey halaci, Sanda jara cindo kaŋ go teeko me gaa, Kaftor wane nooya.
5Baldness is come upon Gazah; Ashkelon is cut off, the remnant of their valley: how long wilt thou cut thyself?
5 Boŋ kosu ka windi du Gaza, Askelon mo ciya kurmu. Ya gooro ra jara kaŋ cindi, Waati fo no ni ga fay da ni boŋo kortu-kortu yaŋo?
6Alas! sword of Jehovah, how long wilt thou not be quiet? Withdraw into thy scabbard, rest, and be still.
6 Ya nin, Rabbi takuba, Waati fo no ni ga dangay? Ma ye ka furo ni nyaŋo ra ka fulanzam, ka dangay siw!
7How shouldest thou be quiet? -- For Jehovah hath given it a charge: against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore, there hath he appointed it.
7 Mate no ni ga dangay d'a binde, Za kaŋ Rabbi no ka ni lordi? A na takuba daŋ noodin zama a ma ciiti nda Askelon da teeku me gaa laabey mo.
