1Flee for safety, ye children of Benjamin, out of the midst of Jerusalem, and blow the trumpet in Tekoa, and set up a signal in Beth-haccerem; for evil appeareth out of the north, and a great destruction.
1 Ya araŋ Benyamin izey, Wa zuru ka fun ka yana Urusalima bindo ra. Wa hilli kar Tekowa ra. Wa liiliwal tunandi Bayt-Hakerem boŋ, Zama laala goono ga niigaw ka fun azawa kambe haray, Kaŋ ga ti halaciyaŋ bambata.
2The comely and delicate one do I cut off, the daughter of Zion.
2 Ize kwaaso hanna din kaŋ ga ti Sihiyona* ize wayo, Ay g'a halaci.
3Shepherds with their flocks shall come unto her; they shall pitch [their] tents against her round about; they shall feed every one in his place.
3 Hawjiyey da ngey alman kurey ga kaa a do. I ga ngey bukkey sinji ka gaaba nd'a k'a windi. I afo kulu mo ga kuru nga nango ra.
4Prepare war against her. Arise, and let us go up at noon. Woe unto us! for the day hath declined, for the shadows of the evening are lengthening.
4 I ga ne: «Wa wangu soola a se. Wa tun, iri ma kaaru nda wayna to zaari bindi. Kaari iri, zama wayna go ga siiri, Zama wiciri kambu biyo ga ku!
5Arise, and let us go up by night, and let us destroy her palaces.
5 Wa tun, iri ma kaaru cin haray ka Urusalima faadey halaci.»
6For thus hath Jehovah of hosts said: Hew ye down trees, and cast a mound against Jerusalem. She is the city to be visited; she is wholly oppression in the midst of her.
6 Zama yaa no Rabbi Kundeykoyo ci: W'a tuuri-nyaŋey beeri-beeri ka te guyaŋ kaŋ i ga Urusalima wongu nd'a. Gallu nooya kaŋ i ga ba ka gooji. kankami go a ra nangu kulu.
7As a well poureth forth her waters, so she poureth forth her wickedness: violence and destruction are heard in her; before me continually are grief and wounds.
7 Sanda mate kaŋ cine day ga nga haro zaba, Yaadin cine no gallo wo ga nga laala zaba. Boro go ga maa toonye nda halaciyaŋ a ra. Waati kulu ay jine doori nda marayyaŋ go no.
8Be thou instructed, Jerusalem, lest my soul be alienated from thee; lest I make thee a desolation, a land not inhabited.
8 Ya Urusalima, ma yadda nda kaseetiyaŋ zama ay bina ma si wangu nin, Ay ma si ni ciya kurmu, Laabu kaŋ sinda goroko.
9Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: They shall thoroughly glean like a vine the remnant of Israel: turn back thy hand, as a grape-gatherer unto the baskets.
9 Yaa no Rabbi Kundeykoyo ci: Ibarey ga Israyla jara kaŋ cindi din mo koobu, Sanda reyzin* tikse cine. Ni kamba ma ye k'a koobu sanda mate kaŋ cine reyzin kosuko ga te da kambey kulu.
10To whom shall I speak and testify, that they may hear? Behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of Jehovah is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.
10 May yaŋ se no ay ga salaŋ, ay ma kaseeti hal i ma maa? A go, i hangey sinda dambanguyaŋ no hal i si hin ka hangan. A go mo Rabbi sanno ciya foyko i se, I si maa a kaani baa kayna.
11And I am full of the fury of Jehovah, I am weary with holding in. Pour it out upon the children in the street, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken; the aged with him [that is] full of days.
11 Woodin sabbay se no ay to da Rabbi futa. Ay farga nd'ay m'a gaay. Ma futay gusam zankey boŋ kwaara fondey gaa da gaabikooney jama boŋ mo fap! folloŋ. Zama baa kurnye nda wande, I g'i sambu care banda, Da arkusey da dottijey care banda.
12And their houses shall be turned unto others, [their] fields and wives together; for I will stretch out my hand upon the inhabitants of the land, saith Jehovah.
12 I windey ga bare ka ciya boro fooyaŋ wane, D'i farey d'i wandey mo care banda, Zama ay g'ay kamba salle ka gaaba nda laabo gorokoy. Yaadin no Rabbi ci.
13For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them, every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest, every one dealeth falsely.
13 Zama za i boro kayney ka koy i boro beerey, I kulu gonda anniya riiba ganayaŋ se. Za i annabey ka koy i alfagey gaa mo, I afo kulu goono ga tangari goy te.
14And they have healed the breach of the daughter of my people lightly, saying, Peace, peace! when there is no peace.
14 I n'ay borey biyo safar beene-beene hinne. I goono ga ne: «Baani samay, baani samay!» Kaŋ mo baani kulu si no.
15Are they ashamed that they have committed abomination? Nay, they are not at all ashamed, neither know they what it is to blush. Therefore they shall fall among them that fall; at the time that I visit them they shall stumble, saith Jehovah.
15 I haaw no i fanta hari goyey kaŋ i te se? Abada, baa kayna, i mana haaw. I moydumey mo mana baa alhaali barmay. Woodin sabbay se binde, Borey kaŋ yaŋ ga kaŋ din ra no i ga kaŋ. Waati kaŋ ay g'i taabandi no ay g'i zeeri ganda. Yaadin no Rabbi ci.
16Thus saith Jehovah: Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the ancient paths, which is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk [therein].
16 Yaa no Rabbi ci: Wa kay fonda boŋ ka guna ka doŋ fondey hã, naŋ kaŋ no fondo hanno go, Araŋ m'a gana mo. Araŋ ga du fulanzamay araŋ fundey se mo. Amma i ne: «Abada! Iri wo s'a gana bo.»
17Also I have set watchmen over you: -- Hearken ye to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.
17 Ay na batukoyaŋ daŋ araŋ se mo ka ne: Wa hilli karyaŋ jinde hangan. Amma i ne ngey wo si hangan.
18Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O assembly, what is among them.
18 Ya ndunnya dumey, wa maa, Ya jama marga, wa bay haŋ kaŋ ga kaa i gaa.
19Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, the fruit of their thoughts; for they have not hearkened unto my words, and as to my law, they have rejected it.
19 Ya nin ndunnya, ma maa, A go, ay ga masiiba candi ka kande jama wo boŋ, I fonguyaŋey nafa nooya, Za kaŋ i mana hanga jeeri ka maa ay sanno se. Ay asariya mo, i n'a furu.
20To what purpose should there come to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? Your burnt-offerings are not acceptable, nor are your sacrifices pleasing unto me.
20 Miila woofo boŋ no i goono ga kande lubban ka fun d'a ay se Seba, da arce kaano mo ka fun d'a laabu mooro? Araŋ sargayey kaŋ i ga ton, Manti haŋ kaŋ ay ga ta no. Araŋ sargayey mana kaan ay se mo.
21Therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will lay stumbling-blocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall over them; the neighbour and his friend shall perish.
21 Woodin sabbay se mo, yaa no Rabbi ci: A go, ay ga katiyaŋ hari daŋ jama wo jine, Za baabey za zankey, i kulu no ga kati a gaa care banda, Gorokasin nda nga cora ga halaci mo.
22Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, a people cometh from the north country, and a great nation is stirred up from the uttermost parts of the earth.
22 Yaa no Rabbi ci: A go, ndunnya dumi fo ga kaa ka fun azawa kambe laabo ra. Ay ga ndunnya dumi bambata fo tunandi a ma fun ndunnya nangu moorey ra.
23They lay hold on bow and spear; they are cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roareth like the sea; and they ride upon horses, set in array as a man for the battle, against thee, daughter of Zion.
23 I ga biraw da yaaji gaay. Bine-bi-koyyaŋ no, i si bakar. I jinde ga te kosongu sanda teeku cine. I goono ga bariyaŋ kaaru, Afo kulu go soolante wongu daaga se, Sanda boro kaŋ goono ga ba ka furo wongu ra, A ma wongu nda nin, ya nin Sihiyona ize wayo.
24We have heard the report thereof: our hands are grown feeble; anguish hath taken hold of us, pain as of a woman that travaileth.
24 Iri maa i baaru, iri kambey yay. Azaaba n'iri di, da taabi mo sanda wayboro kaŋ goono ga hay-zaŋay.
25Go not forth into the field, nor walk by the way; for [there is] the sword of the enemy, terror is on every side.
25 Wa si fatta ka koy fari ra. Araŋ ma si taray haray fondo gana mo ibare takuba da humburkumay kaŋ go nangu kulu sabbay se.
26Daughter of my people, gird thee with sackcloth, and roll thyself in ashes: make mourning, [as] for an only son -- bitter lamentation; for the spoiler cometh suddenly upon us.
26 Ya ay jama ize wayo, Ma ni canta guddu nda bufu zaara. Ni ma bimbilko boosu ra, ni ma bu baray te ni boŋ se sanda mate kaŋ cine i ga ize folloŋ kaŋ go nga hayrey se bu baray te, Bu baray kaŋ ga koroŋ gumo mo, Zama hasarawkoy ga kaŋ iri boŋ da jirsiyaŋ.
27I have set thee among my people as an assayer, a fortress, that thou mayest know and try their way.
27 Nin, Irimiya, ay na ni ciya siiko da neesiko ay jama ra, Zama ni m'i muraadey bay k'i neesi mo.
28They are all the most rebellious of rebels, going about with slander: they are bronze and iron; they are all corrupters.
28 I kulu hanga sando yaŋ da turante yaŋ no gumo. I goono ga bar-bare ka mimanda te, I kulu fumbi goy teekoyaŋ no. I ga hima guuru-say da guuru-bi.
29The bellows are burned, the lead is consumed by the fire; they have melted, and melted in vain; and the bad are not plucked away.
29 Hansekoy goono ga funsu nda korni. Bidila goono ga manne danjo ra. Yaamo no i goono ga hanse, Amma ziibo mana fay waani.
30Reprobate silver shall they call them, for Jehovah hath rejected them.
30 I ga ne i se nzarfu yaamo kaŋ boro kulu si ba, Zama Rabbi wang'ey.
