1There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job; and this man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God and abstained from evil.
1 Waato boro fo go no Uz laabo ra kaŋ maa ga ti Ayuba. Bora din binde toonante no, adilitaraykoy no, a ga humburu Irikoy ka banda bare ilaalo gaa mo.
2And there were born to him seven sons and three daughters.
2 A gonda ize alboro iyye da wayboro hinza.
3And his substance was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she-asses, and very many servants; and this man was greater than all the children of the east.
3 Alman do haray mo a gonda feeji zambar iyye, da yo zambar hinza, da haw zambar fo, da farka nya zangu gu, da almayaali boobo gumo, hala mo zaati bora din bisa wayna funay izey kulu beeray.
4And his sons went and made a feast in the house of each one on his day; and they sent and invited their three sisters to eat and to drink with them.
4 A ize arey mo ga gana ka batu te ngey afo-fo kulu kwaara, afo kulu nda nga zaaro. I ga donton mo ka ngey wayme hinza ce ngey mo ma kaa ka ŋwa ka haŋ ngey banda.
5And it was so, when the days of the feasting were gone about, that Job sent and hallowed them; and he rose up early in the morning, and offered up burnt-offerings [according to] the number of them all; for Job said, It may be that my children have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.
5 Waati kaŋ i bato jirbey windi ka kaa ka to binde, Ayuba ga samba i m'i hanandi.
6And there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before Jehovah; and Satan came also among them.
6 Han fo Irikoy izey, _malaykayaŋ* no|_ kaa zama ngey ma bangay Rabbi jine. Saytan* mo kaa i banda.
7And Jehovah said to Satan, Whence comest thou? And Satan answered Jehovah and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
7 Kala Rabbi ne Saytan se: «Man gaa no ni fun?» Saytan tu Rabbi se ka ne: «Ay fun bar-bareyaŋ ndunnya ra, d'a ra koy-da-ye mo.»
8And Jehovah said to Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God and abstaineth from evil?
8 Kala Rabbi ne Saytan se: «D'a-ta day, ni ga faham d'ay tamo din Ayuba? A himandi kulu si no ndunnya ra. Toonante no, adilitaraykoy no, kaŋ ga humburu Irikoy ka banda bare ilaalo gaa mo.»
9And Satan answered Jehovah and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?
9 Saytan binde tu Rabbi se ka ne: «E day! Yaamo no kaŋ Ayuba ga humburu Irikoy, wala?
10Hast not thou made a hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? Thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is spread abroad in the land.
10 Manti ni n'a kali nda sinkita, nga nda nga windo kulu, hala nda hay kulu kaŋ go a se kuray kulu? Ni n'a kambe goyey mo albarkandi, a almaney mo tonton laabo ra.
11But put forth thy hand now and touch all that he hath, [and see] if he will not curse thee to thy face!
11 Sohõ day kala ni ma ni kambe salle ka hay fo kulu kaŋ ga ti a wane ham, ni ga di a ga ni wow ni jine!»
12And Jehovah said to Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy hand; only upon himself put not forth thy hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of Jehovah.
12 Rabbi ne Saytan se: «Guna, hay kulu kaŋ go a se, i go ni kambe ra. Amma nga bumbo wo, ma si kambe dake a boŋ.» Saytan binde fatta ka fun Rabbi jine.
13And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in the house of their brother, the firstborn.
13 Han fo binde Ayuba ize alborey da wayborey kulu goono ga ŋwa ka duvan* haŋ ngey beere beero kwaara,
14And there came a messenger to Job and said, The oxen were ploughing, and the asses feeding beside them;

15and [they of] Sheba fell [upon them] and took them, and the servants have they smitten with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped, alone, to tell thee.

16While he was yet speaking, there came another and said, The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped, alone, to tell thee.
16 A go sanno ra yaadin kal afo mo kaa ka ne: «Irikoy danjo fun beene ka kaŋ feejey boŋ k'i ŋwa. A na goy-izey mo ŋwa ka ban. Ay hinne mo no ka du ka yana ka kaa ka ci ni se sohõ.»
17While he was yet speaking, there came another and said, The Chaldeans made three bands, and fell upon the camels and took them, and the servants have they smitten with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped, alone, to tell thee.
17 Woodin mo go sanno ra, kal afo mo kaa ka ne: «Kaldancey te sata kanandi hinza ka zurandi ka kaa ka yoy di ka kond'ey. Oho, hal i na goy-izey mo wi nda takuba. Ay hinne mo no ka du ka yana ka kaa ka ci ni se sohõ.»
18While he was yet speaking, there came another and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in the house of their brother, the firstborn;
18 Woodin go sanno ra, kal afo mo kaa. Nga mo ne: «Ni ize alborey da wayborey goono ga ŋwa ka duvan haŋ ngey beere beero windo ra.
19and behold, there came a great wind from over the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they died; and I only am escaped, alone, to tell thee.
19 Kala alma haw beeri fo fun taasi beero boŋ haray ka kaa ka fuwo lokoto taaca kulu kar. Fuwo binde kaŋ ni izey boŋ hal i bu. Ay hinne mo no ka du ka yana ka kaa ka ci ni se.»
20And Job rose up, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down on the ground, and worshipped;
20 Ayuba binde tun ka nga kwaayo tooru-tooru. A na nga boŋo mo cabu ka ye ganda ka sududu.
21and he said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: Jehovah gave, and Jehovah hath taken away; blessed be the name of Jehovah!
21 A ne: «Koonu no ay fun ay nyaŋo gunda ra, koonu mo no ay ga dira. Rabbi no ka no, Rabbi no ka ta, i ma Rabbi maa sifa!»
22In all this Job sinned not, nor ascribed anything unseemly to God.
22 Woodin kulu ra Ayuba mana zunubi te, a mana harta mo ka Irikoy wow.
