1After these things was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
1 Woodin banda Yahudancey batu* fo te. Yesu koy Urusalima.
2Now there is in Jerusalem, at the sheepgate, a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches.
2 Urusalima ra mo Feejey Meyo jarga bangu fo go no kaŋ se i ga ne Baytazda Yahudancey sanney ra, kaŋ gonda tanda gu.
3In these lay a multitude of sick, blind, lame, withered, [awaiting the moving of the water.
3 Jantekom boobo goono ga kani tandey ra -- danawyaŋ, da fanakayaŋ, da yeenikooniyaŋ. I goono ga haro tunandiyaŋo batu,
4For an angel descended at a certain season in the pool and troubled the water. Whoever therefore first went in after the troubling of the water became well, whatever disease he laboured under.]
4 zama hatta ka kaa hatta malayka fo ga zumbu bango ra ka haro tunandi. Haro tunandiyaŋo banda boro kaŋ jin ka furo ga du baani, doori kulu kaŋ go a gaa.
5But there was a certain man there who had been suffering under his infirmity thirty and eight years.
5 Boro fo mo go noodin kaŋ go ga jante jiiri waytaaci ihinka si.
6Jesus seeing this [man] lying [there], and knowing that he was [in that state] now a great length of time, says to him, Wouldest thou become well?
6 Kaŋ Yesu di bora din go ga kani, a bay mo kaŋ a gay yaadin, a ne a se: «Ni ga ba ni ma du baani, wala?»
7The infirm [man] answered him, Sir, I have not a man, in order, when the water has been troubled, to cast me into the pool; but while I am coming another descends before me.
8Jesus says to him, Arise, take up thy couch and walk.
8 Yesu ne a se: «Ma tun ka ni daarijo sambu ka dira.»
9And immediately the man became well, and took up his couch and walked: and on that day was sabbath.
9 Sahãadin bora din du baani, a na nga daarijo sambu ka dira. Han din asibti* zaari no.
10The Jews therefore said to the healed [man], It is sabbath, it is not permitted thee to take up thy couch.
10 Woodin sabbay se no Yahudancey go ga ne bora kaŋ du baani se: «Asibti zaari no hunkuna. A si halal* ni se ni ma ni daarijo sambu.»
11He answered them, He that made me well, *he* said to me, Take up thy couch and walk.
11 Amma a tu i se ka ne: «Bora kaŋ n'ay no baani, nga no ne ay se ay m'ay daarijo sambu ka dira.»
12They asked him [therefore], Who is the man who said to thee, Take up thy couch and walk?
12 I n'a hã ka ne: «May no, bora kaŋ ne ni se ni ma ni daarijo sambu ka dira?»
13But he that had been healed knew not who it was, for Jesus had slidden away, there being a crowd in the place.
13 Amma bora kaŋ du baani mana bay boro kaŋ no, zama Yesu daray a se zama jama go noodin.
14After these things Jesus finds him in the temple, and said to him, Behold, thou art become well: sin no more, that something worse do not happen to thee.
14 Woodin banda Yesu di a Irikoy windo ra ka ne a se: «Guna, ni du baani. Ma si ye ka zunubi te zama hari laalo kaŋ jaase woodin ma si ye ka du nin.»
15The man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.
15 Bora din koy ka ci Yahudancey se ka ne Yesu no na nga no baani.
16And for this the Jews persecuted Jesus [and sought to kill him], because he had done these things on sabbath.
16 Woodin sabbay se no Yahudancey goono ga Yesu gurzugandi zama asibti zaari ra no a goono ga woodin yaŋ te.
17But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto and I work.
17 Amma Yesu tu i se ka ne: «Ay Baabo goono ga goy hala sohõ, ay mo goono ga goy.»
18For this therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he had not only violated the sabbath, but also said that God was his own Father, making himself equal with God.
18 Woodin sabbay se no Yahudancey ye ka ceeci ngey m'a wi, zama manti asibti zaaro hasarayaŋo hinne se, amma zama a goono ga nga boŋ sasabandi nda Irikoy, kaŋ a goono ga ne Irikoy ga ti nga Baaba.
19Jesus therefore answered and said to them, Verily, verily, I say to you, The Son can do nothing of himself save whatever he sees the Father doing: for whatever things *he* does, these things also the Son does in like manner.
19 Yesu binde tu i se ka ne: «Haciika, haciika ay ga ci araŋ se: Izo si hin ka hay kulu te nga boŋ se, kala haŋ kaŋ a di nga Baabo goono ga te. Zama hay kulu kaŋ nga bumbo go ga te, woodin yaŋ no Izo mo goono ga te.
20For the Father loves the Son and shews him all things which he himself does; and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may wonder.
20 Zama Baabo ga ba Izo, a g'a cabe mo hay kulu kaŋ nga bumbo goono ga te. A g'a cabe mo goyyaŋ kaŋ ga bisa woodin yaŋ beeray, zama araŋ ma dambara.
21For even as the Father raises the dead and quickens [them], thus the Son also quickens whom he will:
21 Zama mate kaŋ Baabo ga buukoy tunandi k'i funandi, yaadin mo no Izo ga fundi no borey kaŋ se a ga ba nga m'a no.
22for neither does the Father judge any one, but has given all judgment to the Son;
22 Zama Baabo bumbo si boro kulu ciiti, amma ciito kulu a n'a no Izo se,
23that all may honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He who honours not the Son, honours not the Father who has sent him.
23 zama boro kulu ma Izo beerandi, sanda mate kaŋ cine i ga Baabo beerandi. Boro kaŋ si Izo beerandi si Baabo kaŋ n'a donton mo beerandi.
24Verily, verily, I say unto you, that he that hears my word, and believes him that has sent me, has life eternal, and does not come into judgment, but is passed out of death into life.
24 Haciika, haciika ay ga ci araŋ se: boro kaŋ ga maa ay sanno k'ay dontonkwa cimandi mo gonda fundi hal abada. A si kaa ciito do, amma a na buuyaŋ daŋandi ka kaa fundi do.
25Verily, verily, I say unto you, that an hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God, and they that have heard shall live.
25 Haciika, haciika ay ga ci araŋ se: alwaati go kaa, sohõ mo a to, kaŋ buukoy ga maa Irikoy Izo jinda, borey kaŋ ga maa mo ga funa.
26For even as the Father has life in himself, so he has given to the Son also to have life in himself,
26 Zama danga mate kaŋ cine Baabo gonda fundi nga bumbo ra, yaadin mo no a na Izo no a ma bara nda fundi nga bumbo ra.
27and has given him authority to execute judgment [also], because he is Son of man.
27 A na dabari no a se mo a ma ciiti te, zama nga ya Boro Izo no.
28Wonder not at this, for an hour is coming in which all who are in the tombs shall hear his voice,
28 Araŋ ma si dambara nda woodin, zama alwaati go kaa kaŋ borey kaŋ yaŋ go saarayey ra ga maa a jinda.
29and shall go forth; those that have practised good, to resurrection of life, and those that have done evil, to resurrection of judgment.
29 I ga fatta mo. Borey kaŋ yaŋ te ihanno ga tun fundi se. Borey kaŋ yaŋ te ilaalo mo ga tun ciiti se.
30I cannot do anything of myself; as I hear, I judge, and my judgment is righteous, because I do not seek my will, but the will of him that has sent me.
30 Ay bumbo si hin ka hay kulu te. Sanda mate kaŋ cine ay ga maa, yaadin no ay ga ciiti. Ay ciito mo adilitaray wane no, zama ay s'ay bumbo miila gana, amma Baabo kaŋ n'ay donton wano.
31If I bear witness concerning myself, my witness is not true.
31 D'ay _hinne|_ no ga seeda ay boŋ se, ay seeda si tabbat.
32It is another who bears witness concerning me, and I know that the witness which he bears concerning me is true.
32 Afo go no kaŋ go ga seeda ay boŋ, ay ga bay mo kaŋ seeda kaŋ a goono ga te ay boŋ ya cimi no.
33Ye have sent unto John, and he has borne witness to the truth.
33 Araŋ na boroyaŋ donton Yohanna do, nga mo na seeda no cimo se.
34But I do not receive witness from man, but I say this that *ye* might be saved.
34 Amma seeda kaŋ ay ga ta, manti borey wane no, amma ay ga sanney din ci zama araŋ ma du faaba.
35*He* was the burning and shining lamp, and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.
35 Yohanna ciya fitilla kaŋ goono ga di ka kaari mo, a kaaro ra araŋ yadda ka farhã alwaati kayna fo.
36But I have the witness [that is] greater than [that] of John; for the works which the Father has given me that I should complete them, the works themselves which I do, bear witness concerning me that the Father has sent me.
36 Amma ay gonda seeda kaŋ ga bisa Yohanna wano. Zama goyey kaŋ ay Baaba n'ay no ay m'i toonandi, goyey din bumbey kaŋ ay go ga te, i goono ga seeda ay boŋ ka cabe kaŋ Baaba n'ay donton.
37And the Father who has sent me himself has borne witness concerning me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor have seen his shape,
37 Baaba mo kaŋ n'ay donton seeda ay boŋ. Araŋ mana maa a jinde baa ce fo, araŋ mana di a alhaalo mo.
38and ye have not his word abiding in you; for whom *he* hath sent, him ye do not believe.
38 A sanno si araŋ ra da goray mo, zama bora kaŋ a donton, araŋ man'a cimandi.
39Ye search the scriptures, for ye think that in them ye have life eternal, and they it is which bear witness concerning me;
39 Araŋ ga ceeci Irikoy Tira Hanney ra, zama araŋ ga tammahã i ra no araŋ ga du fundi hal abada, ngey mo no goono ga seeda ay boŋ.
40and ye will not come to me that ye might have life.
40 Amma araŋ si yadda ka kaa ay do ka du fundi.
41I do not receive glory from men,
41 Ay si beeray ceeci borey do,
42but I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
42 zama ay g'araŋ bay. Araŋ sinda Irikoy se baakasinay araŋ ra.
43I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not; if another come in his own name, him ye will receive.
43 Ay wo kaa ay Baaba maa gaa, amma araŋ man'ay ta. Da boro fo kaa nga boŋ maa gaa, bora din wo araŋ g'a ta.
44How can ye believe, who receive glory one of another, and seek not the glory which [comes] from God alone?
44 Mate no araŋ ga te ka cimandi, za kaŋ araŋ goono ga du beeray care do, beera mo kaŋ ga fun Irikoy follonka do, araŋ s'a ceeci?
45Think not that I will accuse you to the Father: there is [one] who accuses you, Moses, on whom ye trust;
45 Araŋ ma si tammahã ay g'araŋ kalima Baaba do. Araŋ kalimakwa go no, nga ga ti Musa kaŋ gaa araŋ naanay.
46for if ye had believed Moses, ye would have believed me, for he wrote of me.
46 Zama nd'araŋ na Musa cimandi no, doŋ araŋ g'ay mo cimandi, zama a n'ay baaro hantum.
47But if ye do not believe his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
47 Amma d'araŋ mana tira kaŋ a hantum cimandi, mate no araŋ ga te k'ay sanno cimandi?»
