1And it came to pass when Jesus had finished commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and preach in their cities.
1 Waato kaŋ Yesu na nga talibi way cindi hinka lordi ka ban, kal a tun noodin zama nga ma dondonandi ka waazu kwaarey ra.
2But John, having heard in the prison the works of the Christ, sent by his disciples,
2 Kaŋ Yohanna go kaso ra, a maa Almasihu goyey baaru. A na nga talibey donton Yesu do
3and said to him, Art *thou* the coming [one]? or are we to wait for another?
3 ka ne: «Nin no ga ti bora kaŋ ga kaa din, wala iri ma afo batu?»
4And Jesus answering said to them, Go, report to John what ye hear and see.
5Blind [men] see and lame walk; lepers are cleansed, and deaf hear; and dead are raised, and poor have glad tidings preached to them:
5 Danawyaŋ goono ga di, simbarkoyaŋ goono ga kay ka dira, jiraykooniyaŋ goono ga hanan, lutuyaŋ goono ga maa, buukoyaŋ goono ga tun, i goono ga Baaru Hanna waazu talkey se mo.
6and blessed is whosoever shall not be offended in me.
6 Albarkante no boro kulu kaŋ mana di darayyaŋ hari ay do.»
7But as they went [away], Jesus began to say to the crowds concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? a reed moved about by the wind?
7 I goono ga dira kala Yesu sintin ka salaŋ borey marga se Yohanna boŋ: «Ifo no araŋ koy ka guna ganjo ra? Kwaari kaŋ haw ga zinji no?
8But what went ye out to see? a man clothed in delicate raiment? behold, those who wear delicate things are in the houses of kings.
8 Wala ifo no araŋ koy ka guna? Boro kaŋ ga bankaaray baano daŋ no? Wa guna ka di: bankaaray baano dankoy go koyey windey ra.
9But what went ye out to see? a prophet? Yea, I say to you, and more than a prophet:
9 Amma ifo se no araŋ koy? Zama araŋ ma di annabi se? Oho, ay ga ne araŋ se, boro kaŋ ga bisa annabi no gumo.
10this is he of whom it is written, Behold, *I* send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee.
10 Nga no ga ti bora kaŋ i hantum a boŋ ka ne: ‹Guna, ay g'ay diya donton ni jine, kaŋ ga ni fonda soola ni jine.›
11Verily I say to you, that there is not arisen among [the] born of women a greater than John the baptist. But he who is a little one in the kingdom of the heavens is greater than he.
11 Haciika ay ga ne araŋ se: boro kulu si no kaŋ wayboro hay kaŋ ga bisa Yohanna baptisma* teekwa beeray. Amma kulu nda yaadin, bora kaŋ kayna d'i kulu beene koytara ra ga bisa Yohanna beeray.
12But from the days of John the baptist until now, the kingdom of the heavens is taken by violence, and [the] violent seize on it.
12 Amma za Yohanna baptisma teekwa jirbey ka kaa sohõ, beene koytara goono ga kaa da ceeriyaŋ, ceerikwa mo ga gurjay k'a di.
13For all the prophets and the law have prophesied unto John.
14And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, who is to come.
14 D'araŋ ga ta mo, nga no ga ti Iliya kaŋ ga kaa din.
15He that has ears to hear, let him hear.
15 Boro kaŋ gonda hanga kaŋ ga maa, a ma maa!
16But to whom shall I liken this generation? It is like children sitting in the markets, which, calling to their companions,
16 Amma ifo gaa no ay ga zamana wo borey himandi nd'a? I go sanda zankayaŋ kaŋ goono ga goro habu ra ka ngey hangasinyaŋ ce
17say, We have piped to you, and ye have not danced: we have mourned to you, and ye have not wailed.
18For John has come neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He has a demon.
18 Zama Yohanna kaa, a siino ga ŋwa, a siino ga haŋ, kal i ne, ‹A gonda follay.›
19The Son of man has come eating and drinking, and they say, Behold, a man [that is] eating and wine-drinking, a friend of tax-gatherers, and of sinners: -- and wisdom has been justified by her children.
19 Boro Izo mo kaa, a ga ŋwa, a ga haŋ, amma i goono ga ne: ‹Wa guna ŋwaari boobo ŋwaako da baji hanko no, jangal taakoy da zunubikooney coro mo no!› Day, da boro lasaabuyaŋo ga saba, kulu ni te-goy mo ga saba.»
20Then began he to reproach the cities in which most of his works of power had taken place, because they had not repented.
20 Kal a sintin ka kwaarey foy kaŋ yaŋ ra a na nga dabari goy baayaŋ te, zama i mana tuubi.
21Woe to thee, Chorazin! woe to thee Bethsaida! for if the works of power which have taken place in you, had taken place in Tyre and Sidon, they had long ago repented in sackcloth and ashes.
21 A ne: «Kaari nin, Korazin! Kaari nin, Baytsayda!
22But I say to you, that it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in judgment-day than for you.
23And *thou*, Capernaum, who hast been raised up to heaven, shalt be brought down even to hades. For if the works of power which have taken place in thee, had taken place in Sodom, it had remained until this day.
Abada! I ga ni ye ganda hala Alaahara. Zama nda Saduma* ra no i na dabari goyey wo te kaŋ yaŋ i te ni ra, doŋ a ga goro hala hõ.
24But I say to you, that it shall be more tolerable for [the] land of Sodom in judgment-day than for thee.
25At that time, Jesus answering said, I praise thee, Father, Lord of the heaven and of the earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them to babes.
26Yea, Father, for thus has it been well-pleasing in thy sight.
27All things have been delivered to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son but the Father, nor does any one know the Father, but the Son, and he to whom the Son may be pleased to reveal [him].
28Come to me, all ye who labour and are burdened, and *I* will give you rest.
28 Wa kaa ay do, araŋ kulu kaŋ goono ga taabi, jaraw tiŋokoyey, ay mo g'araŋ no fulanzamay.
29Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest to your souls;
29 W'ay calo* sambu araŋ jasey gaa. Araŋ ma dondon ay do, zama ay ya lalabukoy no, kaŋ sinda boŋbeeray, araŋ ga du fulanzamay mo araŋ fundey sabbay se.
30for my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
