1The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him:
1 Irikoy wane bonkoono sanney, jawaabo kaŋ a nyaŋo n'a dondonandi nd'a neeya:
2What, my son? and what, O son of my womb? and what, O son of my vows?
2 Ifo no, ya ay izo? Ifo no, ya ay ize gunda? Ifo nooya koyne, ya ay sarti izo?
3Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to them that destroy kings.
3 Ma si ni gaabi no wayboro se, ni fondey mo, Ma s'i no boro kaŋ ga koyey halaci se.
4It is not for kings, Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, nor for rulers [to say], Where is the strong drink?
4 Manti bonkooney muraadu no, ya Irikoy bora, Manti bonkooney muraadu no i ma duvan* haŋ, Wala mo manti koy kayney wane no i ma ba baji!
5-- lest they drink and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the children of affliction.
5 A ma si ciya i ma haŋ ka dinya asariya, I ma kankamante fo kulu ciiti sara.
6Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto the bitter of soul:
6 I ma baji no boro kaŋ go buuyaŋ me gaa se. Duvan* mo, i m'a no boro kaŋ ga maa taabi nga fundo ra se.
7let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
7 A m'a haŋ ka dinya nda nga talkatara, A ma si tonton ka fongu nda nga masiiba.
8Open thy mouth for the dumb, for the cause of all those that are left desolate.
8 Ma ni meyo feeri zama ni ma beebey gaa, Da borey kaŋ ga ti faaji izey kulu sabbay se mo.
9Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and minister justice to the afflicted and needy.
9 Ma ni meyo feeri ka adilitaray ciiti te, Ni ma cimi ciiti te alfukaarey da jaŋaykoyey se.
10Who can find a woman of worth? for her price is far above rubies.
10 May no ga du wayboro kaŋ bine ga hanan? Zama a daymi hay ga bisa tondi hiir'ize caadante yaŋ.
11The heart of her husband confideth in her, and he shall have no lack of spoil.
11 A kurnyo bina ga de a gaa, a si jaŋ riiba mo.
12She doeth him good, and not evil, all the days of her life.
12 Wando fundo jirbey kulu, A ga gomni te a se, manti laala bo.
13She seeketh wool and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
13 A ga feeji hamni nda haabu mo ceeci. A gonda himma nga kambe goyey ra.
14She is like the merchants' ships: she bringeth her food from afar;
14 A ga hima danga hiyaŋ kaŋ ga dira ka koy fatawci, Nangu mooro no a ga nga ŋwaaro ceeci ka kande.
15And she riseth while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and the day's work to her maidens.
15 Za cino ga cindi no a ga tun, A ma nga almayaaley no ŋwaari, A ma goy fay-fay nga ize wayey se.
16She considereth a field, and acquireth it; of the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
16 A ga laakal nda fari hal a ma boori, Gaa a m'a day. Nga kambey riiba no a ga reyzin* kali tilam d'a.
17She girdeth her loins with strength, and maketh strong her arms.
17 A ga guddu nda gaabi ka nga jasey gaabandi.
18She perceiveth that her earning is good; her lamp goeth not out by night.
18 A ga faham da nga dillaŋtaray jinayey, Kaŋ riiba ŋwaari hariyaŋ no. A fitilla mo si bu cin.
19She putteth her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.
19 A ga nga kambe daŋ bindaari gaa, A kambe izey mo goono ga hanjal gaay.
20She stretcheth out her hand to the afflicted, and she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
20 A ga nga kambe salle alfukaarey se, Oho, a ga nga kambey salle jaŋaykoyey se.
21She is not afraid of the snow for her household; for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
21 A si karhã da hargu alwaati nga almayaaley se, Zama a windo kulu goono ga hargu kwaay taalamanteyaŋ daŋ.
22She maketh herself coverlets; her clothing is byssus and purple.
22 A ga tangara baanoyaŋ te nga boŋ se, A bankaaray lin* kaymi hanno nda suniya no.
23Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
23 A kurnyo mo, i g'a bay faada meyo gaa, Waati kaŋ a ga goro kwaara arkusey game ra.
24She maketh body linen and selleth it, and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
24 Waybora ga lin bankaarayyaŋ te ka neera. A ga guddamayaŋ no nga dillaŋey kambey ra.
25Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laugheth [at] the coming day.
25 A daabiro ya gaabi nda beeray no, A laakal si tun alwaatey kaŋ ga kaa se.
26She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and upon her tongue is the law of kindness.
26 A ga nga meyo feeri nda laakal, Gomni dondonandiyaŋ go no a deena boŋ.
27She surveyeth the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
27 A ga laakal nda nga windo muraadey hal a ma boori. A si hawfunay ŋwaari ŋwa.
28Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband [also], and he praiseth her:
28 A izey ga tun ka ne a se albarkante, Hala nd'a kurnyo mo, a g'a sifa ka ne:
29Many daughters have done worthily, but thou excellest them all.
29 «Wayboro ize boobo na hari hanno yaŋ te, Amma ni alhaalo bisa i kulu waney.»
30Gracefulness is deceitful and beauty is vain; a woman [that] feareth Jehovah, she shall be praised.
30 Gaakuri gonda hiila, sogoyaŋ mo hari yaamo no, Amma wayboro kaŋ ga humburu Rabbi, i g'a sifa.
31Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates.
31 W'a no a kambe nafa haro ra. A goyey mo m'a saabu faada meyey ra.
