44

1{To the chief Musician. Of the sons of Korah. An instruction.} O God, with our ears have we heard, our fathers have told us, the work thou wroughtest in their days, in the days of old:
1 Doonkoy jine bora se. Kora izey baytu fo no.
2Thou, by thy hand, didst dispossess the nations, but them thou didst plant; thou didst afflict the peoples, but them didst thou cause to spread out.
2 Ya Irikoy, iri maa d'iri hangey, Iri kaayey mo ci iri se goy kaŋ ni te i jirbey ra, Za waato zamaney ra.
3For not by their own sword did they take possession of the land, neither did their own arm save them; but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst delight in them.
4Thou thyself art my king, O God: command deliverance for Jacob.
4 Zama iri kaayey mana laabo ŋwa da ngey bumbey takuba bo, Manti mo i kambe jase no k'i faaba, Amma ni kambe ŋwaaro da ni jasa, Da ni moyduma annura no, zama ni yadda i gaa.
5Through thee will we push down our adversaries; through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.
5 Ya Irikoy, nin no ga ti ay Bonkoono, Ni ma faaba lordi Yakuba se.
6For I will not put confidence in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.
6 Ni do no iri ga du k'iri yanjekaarey tuti ka ye banda. Ni maa do mo no iri ga du ka borey kaŋ yaŋ ga gaaba nd'iri taamu-taamu.
7For thou hast saved us from our adversaries, and hast put them to shame that hate us.
7 Zama ay si de ay birawo gaa bo, Ay takuba mo s'ay faaba.
8In God will we boast all the day, and we will praise thy name for ever. Selah.
8 Amma nin no k'iri faaba iri yanjekaarey kambe ra, Ni n'iri konnakoy mo haawandi.
9But thou hast cast off, and put us to confusion, and dost not go forth with our armies;
9 Irikoy ra no iri ga fooma zaari me-a-me, Iri ga ni maa sifa mo hal abada. (Wa dangay)
10Thou hast made us to turn back from the adversary, and they that hate us spoil for themselves;
10 Amma sohõ ni n'iri furu, ni n'iri kaynandi mo, Ni siino ga fatta iri wongu margey banda.
11Thou hast given us over like sheep [appointed] for meat, and hast scattered us among the nations;
12Thou hast sold thy people for nought, and hast not increased [thy wealth] by their price;
12 Ni n'iri nooyandi sanda wiyaŋ feeji, Ni n'iri say-say dumi cindey ra.
13Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a mockery and a derision for them that are round about us;
13 Ni goono ga ni borey neera faala, Ni mana du riiba fo mo i hayo gaa.
14Thou makest us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.
15All the day my confusion is before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,
15 Ni n'iri ciya deedandiyaŋ laalo hari kundey ra, Me nyatteyaŋ hari mo dumi cindey game ra.
16Because of the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and the avenger.
16 Waati kulu ay kaynayaŋo go ay jine, Ay moyduma haawo n'ay daabu, sip!
17All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely against thy covenant:
17 Wowko jinde sabbay se kaŋ goono ga sanni ziibo te, Ibare da daw banako mo sabbay se.
18Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy path;
18 Woodin yaŋ kulu kaŋ iri boŋ, Kulu nda yaadin iri mana dinya ni gaa, Iri mana tangari goy te da ni sappa mo.
19Though thou hast crushed us in the place of jackals, and covered us with the shadow of death.
20If we had forgotten the name of our God, and stretched out our hands to a strange ùgod,
20 Baa day kaŋ ni n'iri tutubu zoŋey do, Ni n'iri daabu mo da buuyaŋ biya.
21Would not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.
21 D'iri dinya iri Irikoyo maa, Wala mo d'iri na kambe salle de-koy waani fo gaa,
22But for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are reckoned as sheep for slaughter.
22 Doŋ manti Irikoy ga woodin fisi ka kaa taray no? Zama a ga bine gundu bay.
23Awake, why sleepest thou, Lord? arise, cast [us] not off for ever.
23 Oho, ni sabbay se no i go g'iri wi zaari me-a-me, I n'iri himandi feejiyaŋ kaŋ i ga koy wi.
24Wherefore hidest thou thy face, [and] forgettest our affliction and our oppression?
25For our soul is bowed down to the dust; our belly cleaveth unto the earth.
26Rise up for our help, and redeem us for thy loving-kindness' sake.
26 Zama iri fundey sooli hala ganda, Iri gaahamey go ga naagu laabo gaa.
