Song of Solomon

3

1On my bed, in the nights, I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.
1 Cin ay daarijo boŋ ay n'a ceeci, Nga kaŋ ay bina ga ba, Ay n'a ceeci, amma ay mana du a.
2I will rise now, and go about the city; In the streets and in the broadways Will I seek him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.
2 Kal ay ne: «Naŋ ya tun sohõ, Ka bar-bare kwaara fondey da batamey ra, Ay ga nga kaŋ ay bina ga ba din ceeci.» Ay n'a ceeci, amma ay mana di a.
3The watchmen that go about the city found me: -- Have ye seen him whom my soul loveth?
3 Batukoy kaŋ ga bar-bare kwaara ra n'ay gar. Ay ne i se mo: «Araŋ mana di ay se nga kaŋ ay bina ga ba din, wala?»
4-- Scarcely had I passed from them, When I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go, Until I had brought him into my mother's house, And into the chamber of her that conceived me.
4 In d'ey mana gay da fayyaŋ, Kal ay na nga kaŋ ay bina ga ba din gar. Ay n'a gaay, ay mana yadda k'a taŋ koyne, Kala kaŋ ay kand'a ay nyaŋo kwaara jina, Nga kaŋ n'ay hay din fuwo ra nooya. Arhiijo ne:

8They all hold the sword, Experts in war; Each hath his sword upon his thigh Because of alarm in the nights.
