¹Therefore, having this ministry, as we have had mercy shewn us, we faint not.

¹Basi, Mungu, kwa huruma yake, ametukabidhi kazi hii na hivyo hatufi moyo.

²But we have rejected the hidden things of shame, not walking in deceit, nor falsifying the word of God, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every conscience of men before God.

²Tumeyaacha kabisa mambo yote ya aibu na ya kisirisiri. Hatuishi tena kwa udanganyifu, wala kwa kulipotosha neno la Mungu; bali tunaudhihirisha ukweli kwa kuufanya ukweli, na hivyo kujiweka chini ya uamuzi wa dhamiri za watu mbele ya Mungu.

³But if also our gospel is veiled, it is veiled in those that are lost;

³Maana, kama Habari Njema tunayohubiri imefichika, imefichika tu kwa wale wanaopotea.

⁴in whom the god of this world has blinded the thoughts of the unbelieving, so that the radiancy of the glad tidings of the glory of the Christ, who is [the] image of God, should not shine forth [for them].

⁴Hao hawaamini kwa sababu yule mungu wa ulimwengu huu amezitia giza akili zao wasipate kuuona wazi mwanga wa Habari Njema ya utukufu wa Kristo, ambaye ni mfano kamili wa Mungu.

⁵For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus Lord, and ourselves your bondmen for Jesus' sake.

⁵Maana hatujitangazi sisi wenyewe, ila tunamhubiri Yesu Kristo aliye Bwana, sisi wenyewe tukiwa watumishi wenu kwa ajili ya Yesu.

⁶Because [it is] the God who spoke that out of darkness light should shine who has shone in our hearts for the shining forth of the knowledge of the glory of God in [the] face of [Jesus] Christ.

⁶Mungu ambaye alisema, "Mwanga na uangaze kutoka gizani," ndiye mwenye kuiangaza mioyo yetu, na kutupatia mwanga wa ujuzi wa utukufu wa Mungu uangazao katika uso wa Kristo.

⁷But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassingness of the power may be of God, and not from us:

⁷Basi, sisi tulio na hazina hii tuko tu kama vyombo vya udongo, ili ionekane wazi kwamba nguvu hiyo kuu yatoka kwa Mungu wala si kwetu sisi wenyewe.

⁸every way afflicted, but not straitened; seeing no apparent issue, but our way not entirely shut up;

⁸Daima twapata taabu, lakini hatugandamizwi; twapata mashaka, lakini hatukati tamaa;

⁹persecuted, but not abandoned; cast down, but not destroyed;

⁹twateseka, lakini hatuachwi bila msaada; na ingawa tumeangushwa chini, hatukuangamizwa.

¹⁰always bearing about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our body;

¹⁰Kila wakati tumekuwa tukichukua mwilini mwetu kifo cha Kristo, ili uhai wake Yesu pia udhihirike katika miili yetu.

¹¹for we who live are always delivered unto death on account of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh;

¹¹Naam, katika maisha yetu yote tunakabiliwa na kifo daima kwa ajili ya Yesu, ili uzima wake Yesu udhihirike katika miili yetu inayokufa.

¹²so that death works in us, but life in you.

¹²Hii ina maana kwamba ndani yetu kifo kinafanya kazi, lakini ndani yenu uhai unafanya kazi.

¹³And having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, I have believed, therefore have I spoken; *we* also believe, therefore also we speak;

¹³Maandiko Matakatifu yasema: "Niliamini, ndiyo maana nilinena." Nasi pia, tukiwa na moyo huohuo wa imani, tunaamini, na kwa sababu hiyo twanena.

¹⁴knowing that he who has raised the Lord Jesus shall raise us also with Jesus, and shall present [us] with you.

¹⁴Tunajua kwamba yule aliyemfufua Bwana Yesu atatufufua sisi pia pamoja na Yesu na kutuweka mbele yake pamoja nanyi.

¹⁵For all things [are] for your sakes, that the grace abounding through the many may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.

¹⁵Yote haya ni kwa faida yenu; ili kama vile neema ya Mungu inavyoenea kwa watu wengi zaidi na zaidi vivyo hivyo watu wengi zaidi watoe shukrani nyingi kwa utukufu wa Mungu.

¹⁶Wherefore we faint not; but if indeed our outward man is consumed, yet the inward is renewed day by day.

¹⁶Kwa sababu hiyo hatufi moyo; na hata kama maumbile yetu ya nje yataoza, lakini kwa ndani tunafanywa wapya siku kwa siku.

¹⁷For our momentary [and] light affliction works for us in surpassing measure an eternal weight of glory;

¹⁷Taabu tunayopata ni kidogo, tena ya muda tu: lakini itatupatia utukufu upitao matazamio yote, utukufu ambao hauna mwisho.

¹⁸while we look not at the things that are seen, but at the things that are not seen; for the things that are seen [are] for a time, but those that are not seen eternal.

¹⁸Hivyo tunatazamia kwa makini si vitu vinavyoonekana, bali visivyoonekana. Maana vinavyoonekana ni vya muda tu; lakini vile visivyoonekana ni vya milele.
