1I composed the first discourse, O Theophilus, concerning all things which Jesus began both to do and to teach,
1ข้าแต่ท่านเธโอฟีลัส ในหนังสือเรื่องแรกนั้น ข้าพเจ้าได้กล่าวแล้วถึงบรรดาการซึ่งพระเยซูได้ทรงตั้งต้นกระทำและสั่งสอน
2until that day in which, having by the Holy Spirit charged the apostles whom he had chosen, he was taken up;
2จนถึงวันที่พระองค์ทรงถูกรับขึ้นไป ในเมื่อได้ตรัสสั่งโดยเดชพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์แก่อัครสาวก ซึ่งพระองค์ทรงเลือกไว้นั้นแล้ว
3to whom also he presented himself living, after he had suffered, with many proofs; being seen by them during forty days, and speaking of the things which concern the kingdom of God;
3ครั้นพระองค์ทรงทนทุกข์ทรมานแล้ว ได้ทรงแสดงพระองค์แก่คนพวกนั้น ด้วยหลักฐานหลายอย่าง พิสูจน์ว่าพระองค์ทรงพระชนม์อยู่ และได้ทรงปรากฏแก่เขาทั้งหลายถึงสี่สิบวัน และได้ทรงกล่าวถึงเรื่องอาณาจักรของพระเจ้า
4and, being assembled with [them], commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to await the promise of the Father, which [said he] ye have heard of me.
4เมื่อพระองค์ได้ทรงชุมนุมกันกับอัครสาวก จึงกำชับเขามิให้ออกไปจากกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม แต่ให้คอยรับตามพระสัญญาของพระบิดา คือพระองค์ตรัสว่า "ตามที่ท่านทั้งหลายได้ยินจากเรานั่นแหละ
5For John indeed baptised with water, but *ye* shall be baptised with the Holy Spirit after now not many days.
5เพราะว่ายอห์นให้รับบัพติศมาด้วยน้ำก็จริง แต่ไม่ช้าไม่นานท่านทั้งหลายจะรับบัพติศมาด้วยพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์"
6They therefore, being come together, asked him saying, Lord, is it at this time that thou restorest the kingdom to Israel?
6เมื่อเขาทั้งหลายได้ประชุมพร้อมกัน เขาจึงทูลถามพระองค์ว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า พระองค์จะทรงตั้งราชอาณาจักรขึ้นใหม่ให้แก่อิสราเอลในครั้งนี้หรือ"
7And he said to them, It is not yours to know times or seasons, which the Father has placed in his own authority;
7พระองค์ตรัสตอบเขาว่า "ไม่ใช่ธุระของท่านที่จะรู้เวลาและวาระซึ่งพระบิดาได้ทรงกำหนดไว้โดยสิทธิอำนาจของพระองค์
8but ye will receive power, the Holy Spirit having come upon you, and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
8แต่ท่านทั้งหลายจะได้รับพระราชทานฤทธิ์เดช เมื่อพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์จะเสด็จมาเหนือท่าน และท่านทั้งหลายจะเป็นพยานฝ่ายเราทั้งในกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม ทั่วแคว้นยูเดีย แคว้นสะมาเรีย และจนถึงที่สุดปลายแผ่นดินโลก"
9And having said these things he was taken up, they beholding [him], and a cloud received him out of their sight.
9เมื่อพระองค์ตรัสเช่นนั้นแล้ว ในขณะที่เขาทั้งหลายกำลังพินิจดู พระองค์ก็ถูกรับขึ้นไป และมีเมฆคลุมพระองค์ให้พ้นสายตาของเขา
10And as they were gazing into heaven, as he was going, behold, also two men stood by them in white clothing,
10เมื่อเขากำลังเขม้นดูฟ้าเวลาที่พระองค์เสด็จขึ้นไปนั้น ดูเถิด มีชายสองคนสวมเสื้อขาวมายืนอยู่ข้างๆเขา
11who also said, Men of Galilee, why do ye stand looking into heaven? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven, shall thus come in the manner in which ye have beheld him going into heaven.
11สองคนนั้นกล่าวว่า "ชาวกาลิลีเอ๋ย เหตุไฉนท่านจึงยืนเขม้นดูฟ้าสวรรค์ พระเยซูองค์นี้ซึ่งทรงรับไปจากท่านขึ้นไปยังสวรรค์นั้น จะเสด็จมาอีกเหมือนอย่างที่ท่านทั้งหลายได้เห็นพระองค์เสด็จไปยังสวรรค์นั้น"
12Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called [the mount] of Olives, which is near Jerusalem, a sabbath-day's journey off.
12แล้วอัครสาวกจึงลงจากภูเขามะกอกเทศ ซึ่งอยู่ใกล้กรุงเยรูซาเล็มระยะทางเท่ากับระยะที่อนุญาตให้คนเดินในวันสะบาโต กลับไปกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม
13And when they were come into [the city], they went up to the upper chamber, where were staying both Peter, and John, and James, and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James [son] of Alphaeus, and Simon the zealot, and Jude [the brother] of James.
13เมื่อเข้ากรุงแล้วเขาเหล่านั้นจึงขึ้นไปยังห้องชั้นบน ซึ่งมีทั้งเปโตร ยากอบ ยอห์นกับอันดรูว์ ฟีลิปกับโธมัส บารโธโลมิวกับมัทธิว ยากอบบุตรชายอัลเฟอัส ซีโมนเศโลเท กับยูดาสน้องชายของยากอบ พักอยู่นั้น
14These gave themselves all with one accord to continual prayer, with [several] women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
14พวกเขาร่วมใจกันอธิษฐานอ้อนวอนต่อเนื่องพร้อมกับพวกผู้หญิง และมารีย์มารดาของพระเยซูและพวกน้องชายของพระองค์ด้วย
15And in those days Peter, standing up in the midst of the brethren, said, (the crowd of names [who were] together [was] about a hundred and twenty,)
15คราวนั้นเปโตรจึงได้ยืนขึ้นท่ามกลางเหล่าสาวก (ที่ประชุมกันอยู่นั้นมีรวมทั้งสิ้นประมาณร้อยยี่สิบชื่อ) และกล่าวว่า
16Brethren, it was necessary that the scripture should have been fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before, by the mouth of David, concerning Judas, who became guide to those who took Jesus;
16"พี่น้องทั้งหลาย จำเป็นจะต้องสำเร็จตามพระคัมภีร์ ซึ่งพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ได้ตรัสไว้โดยโอษฐ์ของดาวิด ด้วยเรื่องยูดาส ซึ่งเป็นผู้นำทางคนที่ไปจับพระเยซู
17for he was numbered amongst us, and had received a part in this service.
17เพราะยูดาสนั้นได้นับเข้าในพวกเรา และได้รับส่วนในภารกิจนี้
18(This [man] then indeed got a field with [the] reward of iniquity, and, having fallen down headlong, burst in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.
18ฝ่ายผู้นี้ได้เอาบำเหน็จแห่งการชั่วช้าของตนไปซื้อที่ดิน แล้วก็ล้มคะมำลงแตกกลางตัวไส้พุงทะลักออกมาหมด
19And it was known to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that that field was called in their own dialect Aceldama; that is, field of blood.)
19เหตุการณ์นี้คนทั้งปวงที่อยู่ในกรุงเยรูซาเล็มก็รู้ เขาจึงเรียกที่ดินแปลงนั้นตามภาษาของเขาว่า อาเคลดามา คือนาเลือด
20For it is written in [the] book of Psalms, Let his homestead become desolate, and let there be no dweller in it; and, Let another take his overseership.
20ด้วยมีคำเขียนไว้ในหนังสือสดุดีว่า `ขอให้ที่อาศัยของเขารกร้างและอย่าให้ผู้ใดอาศัยอยู่ที่นั่น' และ `ขอให้อีกผู้หนึ่งมายึดตำแหน่งผู้ปกครองดูแลของเขา'
21It is necessary therefore, that of the men who have assembled with us all [the] time in which the Lord Jesus came in and went out among us,
21เหตุฉะนั้นในบรรดาชายเหล่านี้ที่เป็นพวกเดียวกับเราเสมอตลอดเวลาที่พระเยซูเจ้าได้เสด็จเข้าออกกับเรา
22beginning from the baptism of John until the day in which he was taken up from us, one of these should be a witness with us of his resurrection.
22คือตั้งแต่บัพติศมาของยอห์น จนถึงวันที่พระองค์ทรงถูกรับขึ้นไปจากเรา คนหนึ่งในพวกนี้จะต้องตั้งไว้ให้เป็นพยานกับเราถึงการคืนพระชนม์ของพระองค์"
23And they appointed two, Joseph, who was called Barsabas, who had been surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
23เขาทั้งหลายจึงเสนอชื่อคนสองคน คือโยเซฟที่เรียกว่าบารซับบาส มีนามสกุลว่ายุสทัส และมัทธีอัส
24And they prayed, and said, Thou Lord, knower of the hearts of all, shew which one of these two thou hast chosen,
24แล้วพวกสาวกจึงอธิษฐานว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า ผู้ทรงทราบใจของมนุษย์ทั้งปวง ขอทรงสำแดงว่าในสองคนนี้พระองค์ทรงเลือกคนไหน
25to receive the lot of this service and apostleship, from which Judas transgressing fell to go to his own place.
25ให้รับส่วนในการปรนนิบัตินี้ และรับตำแหน่งเป็นอัครสาวกแทนยูดาส ซึ่งโดยการละเมิดนั้นได้หลงจากหน้าที่ไปยังที่ของตน"
26And they gave lots on them, and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
26เขาทั้งหลายจึงจับสลากกัน และสลากนั้นได้แก่มัทธีอัสจึงนับเขาเข้ากับอัครสาวกสิบเอ็ดคนนั้น
