¹But a certain man, Ananias by name, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,

¹แต่มีชายคนหนึ่งชื่ออานาเนียกับภรรยาชื่อสัปฟีราได้ขายที่ดินของตน

²and put aside for himself part of the price, [his] wife also being privy to it; and having brought a certain part, laid it at the feet of the apostles.

²และเงินค่าที่ดินส่วนหนึ่งเขายักเก็บไว้ ภรรยาของเขาก็รู้ด้วย และอีกส่วนหนึ่งเขานำมาวางไว้ที่เท้าของอัครสาวก

³But Peter said, Ananias, why has Satan filled thy heart that thou shouldest lie to the Holy Spirit, and put aside for thyself a part of the price of the estate?

³ฝ่ายเปโตรจึงถามว่า "อานาเนีย เหตุไฉนซาตานจึงทำให้ใจของเจ้าเต็มไปด้วยการมุสาต่อพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ และทำให้เจ้าเก็บค่าที่ดินส่วนหนึ่งไว้

⁴While it remained did it not remain to *thee*? and sold, was [it not] in thine own power? Why is it that thou hast purposed this thing in thine heart? Thou hast not lied to men, but to God.

⁴เมื่อที่ดินยังอยู่ก็เป็นของเจ้ามิใช่หรือ เมื่อขายแล้วเงินก็ยังอยู่ในอำนาจของเจ้ามิใช่หรือ มีเหตุอะไรเกิดขึ้นให้เจ้าคิดในใจเช่นนั้นเล่า เจ้ามิได้มุสาต่อมนุษย์แต่ได้มุสาต่อพระเจ้า"

⁵And Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and expired. And great fear came upon all who heard [it].

⁵เมื่ออานาเนียได้ยินคำเหล่านั้นก็ล้มลงตาย และเมื่อคนทั้งปวงทราบเรื่องก็พากันสะดุ้งตกใจกลัวอย่างยิ่ง

⁶And the young men, rising up, swathed him up for burial, and having carried him out, buried him.

⁶พวกคนหนุ่มก็ลุกขึ้นห่อศพเขาไว้แล้วหามเอาไปฝัง

⁷And it came to pass about three hours afterwards, that his wife, not knowing what had happened, came in.

⁷หลังจากนั้นประมาณสามชั่วโมง ภรรยาของเขายังไม่ทราบเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นจึงเข้าไป

⁸And Peter answered her, Tell me if ye gave the estate for so much? And she said, Yes, for so much.

⁸ฝ่ายเปโตรถามนางว่า "เจ้าขายที่ดินได้ราคาเท่านั้นหรือ จงบอกเราเถิด" หญิงนั้นจึงตอบว่า "ได้เท่านั้นเจ้าค่ะ"

⁹And Peter said to her, Why [is it] that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of [the] Lord? Lo, the feet of those that have buried thy husband [are] at the door, and they shall carry thee out.

⁹เปโตรจึงถามนางว่า "ไฉนเจ้าทั้งสองได้พร้อมใจกันทดลองพระวิญญาณขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าเล่า จงดูเถิด เท้าของพวกคนที่ฝังศพสามีของเจ้าก็อยู่ที่ประตู และเขาจะหามศพของเจ้าออกไปด้วย"

¹⁰And she fell down immediately at his feet and expired. And when the young men came in they found her dead; and, having carried her out, they buried her by her husband.

¹⁰ในทันใดนั้นนางก็ล้มลงตายแทบเท้าของเปโตร และพวกคนหนุ่มได้เข้ามาเห็นว่าหญิงนั้นตายแล้ว จึงได้หามศพออกไปฝังไว้ข้างสามีของนาง

¹¹And great fear came upon all the assembly, and upon all who heard these things.

¹¹ความเกรงกลัวอย่างยิ่งเกิดขึ้นในคริสตจักร และในหมู่คนทั้งปวงที่ได้ยินเหตุการณ์นั้น

¹²And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders done among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch,

¹²มีหมายสำคัญและการมหัศจรรย์หลายอย่างซึ่งอัครสาวกได้ทำด้วยมือของตนในหมู่ประชาชน (พวกสาวกอยู่พร้อมใจกันในเฉลียงของซาโลมอน

¹³but of the rest durst no man join them, but the people magnified them;

¹³และคนอื่นๆไม่อาจเข้ามาอยู่ด้วย แต่ประชาชนเคารพพวกเขามาก

¹⁴and believers were more than ever added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women;)

¹⁴มีชายหญิงเป็นอันมากที่เชื่อถือ ได้เข้ามาเป็นสาวกขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้ามากกว่าก่อน)

¹⁵so that they brought out the sick into the streets and put [them] on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter, when he came, might overshadow some one of them.

¹⁵จนเขาหามคนเจ็บป่วยออกไปที่ถนนวางบนที่นอนและแคร่ เพื่อเมื่อเปโตรเดินผ่านไป อย่างน้อยเงาของท่านจะได้ถูกเขาบางคน

¹⁶And the multitude also of the cities round about came together to Jerusalem, bringing sick persons and persons beset by unclean spirits, who were all healed.

¹⁶ประชาชนได้ออกมาจากเมืองที่อยู่ล้อมรอบกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม พาคนป่วยและคนที่มีผีโสโครกเบียดเบียนมาและทุกคนก็หาย

¹⁷And the high priest rising up, and all they that were with him, which is the sect of the Sadducees, were filled with wrath,

¹⁷ฝ่ายมหาปุโรหิตและพรรคพวกของท่านก็ลุกขึ้น (คือพวกสะดูสี) มีความโกรธอย่างยิ่ง

¹⁸and laid hands on the apostles and put them in the public prison.

¹⁸จึงได้จับพวกอัครสาวกจำไว้ในคุกหลวง

¹⁹But an angel of [the] Lord during the night opened the doors of the prison, and leading them out, said,

¹⁹แต่ในเวลากลางคืน ทูตสวรรค์ขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าได้มาเปิดประตูคุก พาอัครสาวกออกไป บอกว่า

²⁰Go ye and stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.

²⁰"จงไปยืนในพระวิหาร ประกาศบรรดาข้อความแห่งชีวิตนี้ให้ประชาชนฟัง"

²¹And when they heard it, they entered very early into the temple and taught. And when the high priest was come, and they that were with him, they called together the council and all the elderhood of the sons of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.

²¹เมื่ออัครสาวกได้ยินอย่างนั้น พอเวลารุ่งเช้าจึงเข้าไปสั่งสอนในพระวิหาร ฝ่ายมหาปุโรหิตกับพรรคพวกของท่านได้เรียกประชุมสภา พร้อมกับบรรดาผู้เฒ่าทั้งหมดของชนอิสราเอล แล้วใช้คนไปที่คุกให้พาอัครสาวกออกมา

²²And when the officers were come, they did not find them in the prison; and returned and reported

²²แต่เมื่อเจ้าพนักงานไปถึงก็ไม่พบพวกอัครสาวกในคุก จึงกลับมารายงาน

²³saying, We found the prison shut with all security, and the keepers standing at the doors; but when we had opened [them], within we found no one.

²³ว่า "ข้าพเจ้าทั้งหลายเห็นคุกปิดอยู่มั่นคงและคนเฝ้าก็ยืนอยู่หน้าประตู ครั้นเปิดประตูแล้วก็ไม่เห็นผู้ใดอยู่ข้างใน"

²⁴And when they heard these words, both the priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests were in perplexity as to them, what this would come to.

²⁴เมื่อมหาปุโรหิตและนายทหารรักษาพระวิหารกับพวกปุโรหิตใหญ่ ได้ยินคำเหล่านี้ ก็ฉงนสนเท่ห์ในเรื่องของอัครสาวกว่าจะเป็นอย่างไรต่อไป

²⁵And some one coming reported to them, Lo, the men whom ye put in the prison are in the temple, standing and teaching the people.

²⁵มีคนหนึ่งมาบอกเขาว่า "ดูเถิด คนเหล่านั้น ซึ่งท่านทั้งหลายได้จำไว้ในคุกกำลังยืนสั่งสอนคนทั้งปวงอยู่ในพระวิหาร"

²⁶Then the captain, having gone with the officers, brought them, not with violence, for they feared the people, lest they should be stoned.

²⁶แล้วนายทหารรักษาพระวิหารกับพวกเจ้าพนักงานจึงได้ไปพาพวกอัครสาวกมาโดยดี เพราะกลัวว่าคนทั้งปวงจะเอาหินขว้าง

²⁷And they bring them and set them in the council. And the high priest asked them,

²⁷เมื่อเขาได้พาพวกอัครสาวกมาแล้วก็ให้ยืนหน้าสภา มหาปุโรหิตจึงถาม

²⁸saying, We strictly enjoined you not to teach in this name: and lo, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and purpose to bring upon us the blood of this man.

²⁸ว่า "เราได้กำชับพวกเจ้าอย่างแข็งแรงมิให้สอนออกชื่อนี้ ก็ดูเถิด เจ้าได้ให้คำสอนของเจ้าแพร่ไปทั่วกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม และปรารถนาให้ความผิดเนื่องด้วยโลหิตของผู้นั้นตกอยู่กับเรา"

²⁹But Peter answering, and the apostles, said, God must be obeyed rather than men.

²⁹ฝ่ายเปโตรกับอัครสาวกอื่นๆตอบว่า "ข้าพเจ้าทั้งหลายจำต้องเชื่อฟังพระเจ้ายิ่งกว่าเชื่อฟังมนุษย์

³⁰The God of our fathers has raised up Jesus, whom *ye* have slain, having hanged on a cross.

³⁰พระเยซูซึ่งท่านทั้งหลายได้ฆ่าเสียโดยแขวนไว้ที่ต้นไม้นั้น พระเจ้าแห่งบรรพบุรุษของเราได้ทรงบันดาลให้เป็นขึ้นมาใหม่

³¹Him has God exalted by his right hand as leader and saviour, to give repentance to Israel and remission of sins.

³¹พระเจ้าได้ทรงตั้งพระองค์ไว้ด้วยพระหัตถ์เบื้องขวาของพระองค์ให้เป็นเจ้าชาย และองค์พระผู้ช่วยให้รอด เพื่อจะให้ชนอิสราเอลกลับใจใหม่ แล้วจะทรงโปรดยกความผิดบาปของเขา

³²And *we* are [his] witnesses of these things, and the Holy Spirit also, which God has given to those that obey him.

³²เราทั้งหลายจึงเป็นพยานของพระองค์ถึงเรื่องเหล่านี้ และพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ ซึ่งพระเจ้าได้ทรงประทานให้ทุกคนที่เชื่อฟังพระองค์นั้นก็เป็นพยานด้วย"

³³But they, when they heard [these things], were cut to the heart, and took counsel to kill them.

³³เมื่อเขาทั้งหลายได้ยินอย่างนี้ ก็รู้สึกบาดใจ คิดกันว่าจะฆ่าพวกอัครสาวกเสีย

³⁴But a certain [man], a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, held in honour of all the people, rose up in the council, and commanded to put the men out for a short while,

³⁴แต่คนหนึ่งชื่อกามาลิเอลเป็นพวกฟาริสี และเป็นธรรมาจารย์ฝ่ายพระราชบัญญัติ เป็นที่นับถือของประชาชน ได้ยืนขึ้นในสภาแล้วสั่งให้พาพวกอัครสาวกออกไปเสียภายนอกครู่หนึ่ง

³⁵and said to them, Men of Israel, take heed to yourselves as regards these men what ye are going to do;

³⁵ท่านจึงได้กล่าวแก่เขาว่า "ท่านชนชาติอิสราเอล ซึ่งท่านหวังจะทำแก่คนเหล่านี้ จงระวังตัวให้ดี

³⁶for before these days Theudas rose up, alleging himself to be somebody, to whom a number of men, about four hundred, were joined; who was slain, and all, as many as obeyed him, were dispersed and came to nothing.

³⁶เมื่อคราวก่อนมีคนหนึ่งชื่อธุดาสอวดตัวว่าเป็นผู้วิเศษ มีผู้ชายติดตามประมาณสี่ร้อยคน แต่ธุดาสถูกฆ่าเสีย คนทั้งหลายซึ่งได้เชื่อฟังเขาก็กระจัดกระจายสาบสูญไป

³⁷After him rose Judas the Galilean in the days of the census, and drew away [a number of] people after him; and *he* perished, and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered abroad.

³⁷ภายหลังผู้นี้มีอีกคนหนึ่งชื่อยูดาสเป็นชาวกาลิลี ได้ปรากฏขึ้นในคราวจดบัญชีสำมะโนครัว และได้เกลี้ยกล่อมผู้คนให้ติดตามตัวไปเป็นอันมาก ผู้นั้นก็พินาศด้วย และคนทั้งหลายที่ได้เชื่อฟังเขาก็กระจัดกระจายไป

³⁸And now I say to you, Withdraw from these men and let them alone, for if this counsel or this work have its origin from men, it will be destroyed;

³⁸ในกรณีนี้ ข้าพเจ้าจึงว่าแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า จงปล่อยคนเหล่านี้ไปตามเรื่อง อย่าทำอะไรแก่เขาเลย เพราะว่าถ้าความคิดหรือกิจการนี้มาจากมนุษย์ก็จะล้มละลายไปเอง

³⁹but if it be from God, ye will not be able to put them down, lest ye be found also fighters against God.

³⁹แต่ถ้ามาจากพระเจ้า ท่านทั้งหลายจะทำลายเสียก็ไม่ได้ เกลือกว่าท่านกลับจะเป็นผู้สู้รบกับพระเจ้า"

⁴⁰And they listened to his advice; and having called the apostles, they beat them, and enjoined them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and dismissed them.

⁴⁰เขาทั้งหลายจึงยอมเห็นด้วยกับกามาลิเอล และเมื่อได้เรียกพวกอัครสาวกเข้ามาแล้ว จึงเฆี่ยนและกำชับไม่ให้ออกพระนามของพระเยซู แล้วก็ปล่อยไป

⁴¹They therefore went their way from [the] presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to be dishonoured for the name.

⁴¹พวกอัครสาวกจึงออกไปให้พ้นหน้าสภาด้วยความยินดีที่เห็นว่า ตนสมจะได้รับการหลู่เกียรติเพราะพระนามของพระองค์นั้น

⁴²And every day, in the temple and in the houses, they ceased not teaching and announcing the glad tidings that Jesus [was] the Christ.

⁴²ที่ในพระวิหารและตามบ้านเรือน เขาได้สั่งสอนและประกาศข่าวประเสริฐของพระเยซูคริสต์ ทุกๆวันมิได้ขาด
