1In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel saw a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream; he told the sum of the matters.
1ในปีต้นแห่งรัชกาลเบลชัสซาร์กษัตริย์เมืองบาบิโลน ดาเนียลมีความฝันและนิมิตผุดขึ้นในศีรษะของท่านเมื่อท่านนอนอยู่ในที่นอนของท่าน ท่านจึงบันทึกความฝันนั้นไว้ และบรรยายเนื้อเรื่องนั้น
2Daniel spoke and said, I saw in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of the heavens broke forth upon the great sea.
2ดาเนียลกล่าวว่า "ข้าพเจ้าได้เห็นในนิมิตเวลากลางคืน และดูเถิด ลมทั้งสี่ของฟ้าสวรรค์ได้ปลุกปั่นทะเลใหญ่นั้น
3And four great beasts came up from the sea, different one from another.
3และสัตว์มหึมาสี่ตัวได้ขึ้นมาจากทะเล ต่างตัวต่างกัน
4The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till its wings were plucked; and it was lifted up from the earth, and made to stand upon two feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it.
4ตัวแรกเหมือนสิงโต มีปีกนกอินทรี เมื่อข้าพเจ้ามองดูนั้น ขนปีกก็ถูกถอนออกไป และมันถูกยกขึ้นจากแผ่นดิน และให้ยืนสองเท้าเหมือนคน และมอบใจของมนุษย์ให้แก่มัน
5And behold, another beast, a second, like unto a bear, and it raised up itself on one side; and [it had] three ribs in its mouth between its teeth; and they said thus unto it: Arise, devour much flesh.
5และดูเถิด มีสัตว์อีกตัวหนึ่งเป็นตัวที่สองเหมือนหมี มันขยับตัวข้างหนึ่งขึ้น มีกระดูกซี่โครงสามซี่อยู่ในปากของมันระหว่างซี่ฟัน มีเสียงบอกมันว่า `จงลุกขึ้นกินเนื้อให้มากๆ'
6After this I saw, and behold, another, like a leopard, and it had four wings of a bird upon its back; and the beast had four heads; and dominion was given to it.
6ต่อจากนี้ไปข้าพเจ้าก็ได้มองดู ดูเถิด สัตว์อีกตัวหนึ่งเหมือนเสือดาว บนหลังมีปีกนกสี่ปีก สัตว์นั้นมีหัวสี่หัวและมันรับราชอำนาจ
7After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and exceeding strong; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and broke in pieces, and stamped the rest with its feet; and it was different from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
7ต่อจากนี้ไปข้าพเจ้าได้เห็นในนิมิตกลางคืน และดูเถิด สัตว์ที่สี่มันร้ายกาจและเป็นที่น่ากลัวและแข็งแรงยิ่งนัก มันมีฟันเหล็กมหึมา มันกินและหักเป็นชิ้นๆ และกระทืบสิ่งที่เหลือนั้นเสีย มันต่างกับสัตว์อื่นทั้งหลายที่อยู่ก่อนมัน มันมีเขาสิบเขา
8I considered the horns, and behold, there came up among them another, a little horn, before which three of the first horns were plucked up by the roots; and behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking great things.
8ข้าพเจ้าพิเคราะห์เรื่องเขาเหล่านั้น ดูเถิด มีอีกเขาหนึ่งเล็กๆงอกขึ้นมาท่ามกลางเขาเหล่านั้น เขารุ่นแรกสามเขาได้ถูกถอนรากออกไปต่อหน้ามัน และดูเถิด ในเขาอันนี้มีตาเหมือนตามนุษย์ มีปากพูดเรื่องใหญ่โต
9I beheld till thrones were set, and the Ancient of days did sit: his raiment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was flames of fire, [and] its wheels burning fire.
9ขณะที่ข้าพเจ้าดูอยู่มีหลายบัลลังก์ถูกล้มลง และผู้หนึ่งผู้เจริญด้วยวัยวุฒิมาประทับ ฉลองพระองค์ขาวอย่างหิมะ พระเกศาที่พระเศียรของพระองค์เหมือนขนแกะบริสุทธิ์ พระบัลลังก์ของพระองค์เป็นเปลวเพลิง กงจักรของบัลลังก์นั้นเป็นไฟลุก
10A stream of fire issued and came forth from before him; thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
10ธารไฟพุ่งออกและไหลออกมาต่อเบื้องพระพักตร์พระองค์ คนนับแสนๆปรนนิบัติพระองค์ คนนับโกฏิๆเข้าเฝ้าพระองค์ ผู้พิพากษาก็ขึ้นนั่งบันลังก์ บรรดาหนังสือก็เปิดขึ้น
11I beheld therefore, because of the voice of the great words that the horn spoke; I beheld till the beast was slain, and its body destroyed, and it was given up to be burned with fire.
11ข้าพเจ้าก็จ้องดู เพราะเสียงพูดใหญ่โตของเขาเล็กนั้น และเมื่อข้าพเจ้าจ้องดูสัตว์ตัวนั้นก็ถูกฆ่า และศพก็ถูกทำลาย มอบให้เผาเสียด้วยไฟ
12As for the rest of the beasts, their dominion was taken away; but their lives were prolonged for a season and a time.
12ส่วนเรื่องสัตว์ที่เหลืออยู่นั้น ราชอำนาจของมันก็ถูกนำไปเสีย แต่ชีวิตของมันนั้นยังต่อไปให้ถึงฤดูหนึ่งและวาระหนึ่ง
13I saw in the night visions, and behold, there came with the clouds of heaven [one] like a son of man, and he came up even to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
13ข้าพเจ้าเห็นในนิมิตกลางคืน และดูเถิด มีท่านผู้หนึ่งเหมือนบุตรมนุษย์มาพร้อมกับบรรดาเมฆในท้องฟ้า และท่านมาหาผู้เจริญด้วยวัยวุฒินั้น เขานำท่านมาเฝ้าต่อเบื้องพระพักตร์พระองค์
14And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom [that] which shall not be destroyed.
14ราชอำนาจ สง่าราศี กับราชอาณาจักร ก็ได้มอบให้แก่ท่าน เพื่อบรรดาชนชาติ ประชาชาติทั้งปวงและภาษาทั้งหลายจะปรนนิบัติท่าน ราชอาณาจักรของท่านเป็นราชอาณาจักรนิรันดร์ซึ่งจะไม่สิ้นสุดไป และอาณาจักรของท่านเป็นอาณาจักรซึ่งจะไม่ถูกทำลายเลย
15As for me Daniel, my spirit was grieved in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.
15ส่วนข้าพเจ้า คือดาเนียล จิตใจข้าพเจ้าก็เป็นทุกข์ในตัวข้าพเจ้า เพราะนิมิตในศีรษะของข้าพเจ้าก็กระทำให้ข้าพเจ้าตกใจ
16I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the certainty of all this. And he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things:
16ข้าพเจ้าเข้าไปใกล้ท่านผู้หนึ่งที่ยืนอยู่ที่นั่น และไต่ถามความจริงของเรื่องราวนี้ ท่านก็บอกข้าพเจ้า และให้ข้าพเจ้ารู้ความหมายของเรื่องเหล่านี้
17These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, [that] shall arise out of the earth.
17สัตว์มหึมาทั้งสี่คือ กษัตริย์สี่พระองค์ซึ่งจะเกิดมาจากพิภพ
18But the saints of the most high [places] shall receive the kingdom, and they shall possess the kingdom for ever, even to the ages of ages.
18แต่บรรดาวิสุทธิชนแห่งองค์ผู้สูงสุดจะรับราชอาณาจักร และถือกรรมสิทธิ์ราชอาณาจักรนั้นสืบๆไปเป็นนิตย์ คือเป็นนิตย์นิรันดร์
19Then I desired to know the certainty concerning the fourth beast, which was different from them all, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and its nails of brass; which devoured, broke in pieces, and stamped the rest with its feet;
19แล้วข้าพเจ้าก็อยากจะทราบถึงความจริงอันเกี่ยวกับสัตว์ตัวที่สี่นั้นซึ่งผิดแปลกกับสัตว์อื่นๆทั้งสิ้น ร้ายกาจเหลือเกิน มีฟันเหล็กและเล็บตีนทองสัมฤทธิ์ ซึ่งกินและหักเป็นชิ้นๆและกระทืบสิ่งที่เหลือนั้นเสีย
20and concerning the ten horns that were in its head, and the other that came up, and before which three fell: even that horn that had eyes, and a mouth speaking great things, and whose look was more imposing than its fellows.
20และเกี่ยวกับเขาสิบเขาซึ่งอยู่บนหัวของมัน และเขาอีกเขาหนึ่งซึ่งงอกขึ้นมาต่อหน้าเขารุ่นแรกสามเขาที่หลุดไป เขาซึ่งมีตาและมีปากซึ่งพูดสิ่งใหญ่โต และซึ่งดูเหมือนจะใหญ่โตกว่าเพื่อนเขาด้วยกัน
21I beheld, and that horn made war with the saints, and prevailed over them;
21เมื่อข้าพเจ้ามองดู เขานี้ทำสงครามกับวิสุทธิชนและชนะ
22until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most high [places]; and the appointed time arrived, and the saints possessed the kingdom.
22จนถึงผู้เจริญด้วยวัยวุฒิเสด็จมาถึงและทรงให้มีการพิพากษาให้แก่วิสุทธิชนขององค์ผู้สูงสุดนั้น และจนสมัยเมื่อวิสุทธิชนรับราชอาณาจักรมาถึง
23He said thus: The fourth beast shall be a fourth kingdom upon the earth, which shall be different from all the kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
23ท่านผู้นั้นกล่าวดังนี้ว่า `เรื่องสัตว์ตัวที่สี่จะมีราชอาณาจักรที่สี่บนพิภพซึ่งจะผิดกับราชอาณาจักรทั้งสิ้น และจะกินทั้งพิภพนี้เสียและเหยียบพิภพลง และหักพิภพนั้นให้แตกออกเป็นชิ้นๆ
24And as to the ten horns, out of this kingdom shall arise ten kings; and another shall arise after them; and he shall be different from the former, and he shall subdue three kings.
24ส่วนเรื่องเขาสิบเขานั้นจากราชอาณาจักรนี้จะมีกษัตริย์สิบพระองค์เกิดขึ้น และมีกษัตริย์อีกองค์หนึ่งเกิดขึ้นภายหลัง ผิดแปลกกว่ากษัตริย์ที่มีมาก่อน และจะโค่นกษัตริย์เสียสามองค์
25And he shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most high [places], and think to change seasons and the law; and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and a half time.
25ท่านจะพูดคำกล่าวร้ายองค์ผู้สูงสุด และจะให้วิสุทธิชนขององค์ผู้สูงสุดนั้นอิดหนาระอาใจ และจะคิดเปลี่ยนแปลงบรรดาวาระและพระราชบัญญัติ และเขาทั้งหลายจะถูกมอบไว้ในมือของท่าน ตลอดหนึ่งวาระ สองวาระ กับครึ่งวาระ
26And the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.
26แต่ผู้พิพากษาก็จะขึ้นนั่งบัลลังก์และจะทรงนำเอาราชอาณาจักรของท่านไปเสีย เพื่อจะทรงเผาผลาญและทำลายเสียให้สิ้นสุด
27But the kingdom and the dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heavens, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most high [places]. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.
27และอาณาจักรกับราชอาณาจักรและความยิ่งใหญ่แห่งบรรดาอาณาจักรภายใต้สวรรค์ทั้งสิ้น จะต้องถูกมอบไว้แก่ชุมนุมแห่งวิสุทธิชนขององค์ผู้สูงสุดนั้น อาณาจักรของท่านจะเป็นอาณาจักรนิรันดร์ และราชอาณาจักรทั้งสิ้นจะปรนนิบัติและเชื่อฟังท่าน'
28So far is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my thoughts much troubled me, and my countenance was changed in me; but I kept the matter in my heart.
28เรื่องราวก็สิ้นสุดลงเพียงนี้ ส่วนข้าพเจ้าคือดาเนียล ความคิดของข้าพเจ้าก็ทำให้ข้าพเจ้าตกใจมาก และสีหน้าของข้าพเจ้าก็เปลี่ยนไป แต่ข้าพเจ้าก็เก็บเรื่องราวนี้ไว้ในใจ"
