1The word of Jehovah that came unto Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.

2The beginning of the word of Jehovah through Hosea. And Jehovah said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms, and children of whoredoms; for the land is entirely given up to whoredom, away from Jehovah.
2เมื่อพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสทางโฮเชยาเป็นครั้งแรกนั้น พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับโฮเชยาว่า "ไปซี ไปรับหญิงเจ้าชู้มาเป็นภรรยา และเกิดลูกชู้กับนาง เพราะว่าแผ่นดินนี้เล่นชู้อย่างยิ่ง โดยการละทิ้งพระเยโฮวาห์เสีย"
3And he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; and she conceived and bore him a son.
3ดังนั้นท่านจึงไปรับนางโกเมอร์บุตรสาวดิบลาอิมมาเป็นภรรยา และนางก็มีครรภ์กับท่านและคลอดบุตรชายคนหนึ่ง
4And Jehovah said unto him, Call his name Jizreel; for yet a little, and I will visit the blood of Jizreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause the kingdom of the house of Israel to cease.
4และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับท่านว่า "จงเรียกชื่อเขาว่า ยิสเรเอล เพราะว่าอีกไม่ช้าเราจะลงโทษวงศ์วานของเยฮูเหตุด้วยเรื่องโลหิตของยิสเรเอล เราจะให้ราชอาณาจักรของวงศ์วานอิสราเอลสิ้นสุดลงเสียที
5And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jizreel.
5ต่อมาในวันนั้นเราจะหักธนูของอิสราเอลในหุบเขายิสเรเอล"
6And she conceived again, and bore a daughter. And he said unto him, Call her name Lo-ruhamah; for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel, so that I should pardon them.
6ต่อมานางก็ตั้งครรภ์ขึ้นอีก และคลอดบุตรสาวคนหนึ่ง และพระเจ้าตรัสกับท่านว่า "จงตั้งชื่อบุตรสาวนั้นว่า โลรุหะมาห์ เพราะเราจะไม่เมตตาวงศ์วานอิสราเอลอีกต่อไป แต่เราจะเอาเขาออกไปอย่างสิ้นเชิง
7But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by Jehovah their God; and I will not save them by bow, or by sword, or by battle, [or] by horses, or by horsemen.
7แต่เราจะเมตตาวงศ์วานยูดาห์ และเราจะช่วยเขาให้รอดพ้นโดยพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเขาทั้งหลาย เราจะไม่ช่วยเขาให้รอดพ้นด้วยคันธนู หรือด้วยดาบ หรือด้วยสงคราม หรือด้วยเหล่าม้า หรือด้วยเหล่าพลม้า"
8And she weaned Lo-ruhamah; and she conceived and bore a son;
8เมื่อนางให้โลรุหะมาห์หย่านมแล้ว นางก็ตั้งครรภ์คลอดบุตรชายคนหนึ่ง
9and he said, Call his name Lo-ammi; for ye are not my people, and I will not be for you.
9และพระเจ้าตรัสว่า "จงเรียกชื่อบุตรนั้นว่า โอลัมมี เพราะเจ้าทั้งหลายมิใช่ประชาชนของเรา และเราก็มิใช่พระเจ้าของเจ้า"
10Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea which cannot be measured or numbered; and it shall come to pass, [that] in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, it shall be said unto them, Sons of the living ùGod.
10แต่จำนวนประชาชนอิสราเอลจะมากมายเหมือนเม็ดทรายในทะเล ซึ่งจะตวงหรือนับไม่ถ้วน และต่อมาในสถานที่ซึ่งทรงกล่าวแก่เขาว่า "เจ้าทั้งหลายไม่ใช่ประชาชนของเรา" ก็จะกล่าวแก่เขาว่า "เจ้าทั้งหลายเป็นบุตรชายของพระเจ้าผู้ทรงพระชนม์อยู่"
11And the children of Judah and the children of Israel shall be gathered together, and they shall appoint themselves one head, and shall go up out of the land: for great is the day of Jizreel.
11และวงศ์วานยูดาห์กับวงศ์วานอิสราเอลจะรวมเข้าด้วยกัน และเขาทั้งหลายจะตั้งผู้หนึ่งให้เป็นประมุข และจะพากันขึ้นไปจากแผ่นดินนั้น เพราะวันของยิสเรเอลจะสำคัญมาก
