1Set the trumpet to thy mouth. [He cometh] as an eagle against the house of Jehovah, because they have transgressed my covenant, and rebelled against my law.
1จงจรดแตรไว้ที่ปากของเจ้า เพราะว่าเขาจะมาดังนกอินทรีเหนือพระนิเวศของพระเยโฮวาห์ เพราะเขาได้ละเมิดพันธสัญญาของเรา และละเมิดราชบัญญัติของเรา
2They shall cry unto me, My God, we know thee; [we], Israel.
2อิสราเอลจะร้องทุกข์ต่อเราว่า "ข้าแต่พระเจ้าของข้าพระองค์ ข้าพระองค์รู้จักพระองค์"
3Israel hath cast off good: the enemy shall pursue him.
3อิสราเอลได้ทอดทิ้งสิ่งที่ดีเสียแล้ว ศัตรูจะไล่ติดตามเขา
4They have set up kings, but not by me; they have made princes, and I knew it not; of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.
4เขาทั้งหลายได้แต่งตั้งกษัตริย์ แต่ไม่ใช่โดยเรา เขาทั้งหลายตั้งเจ้านาย แต่เราไม่รู้เรื่องเลย พวกเขาได้สร้างรูปเคารพทั้งหลายด้วยเงินและทองคำของเขา เพื่อพวกเขาจะถูกตัดขาดออกเสีย
5Thy calf, O Samaria, hath cast [thee] off; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will they be incapable of purity?
5โอ สะมาเรียเอ๋ย รูปลูกวัวของเจ้าได้ทิ้งเจ้าเสียแล้ว ความกริ้วของเราพลุ่งขึ้นต่อเขา อีกนานสักเท่าใดหนอเขาจึงจะบริสุทธิ์กันได้
6For from Israel is this also: -- a workman made it, and it is no God: for the calf of Samaria shall be [broken in] pieces.
6เพราะรูปหล่อนั้นได้มาจากอิสราเอล ช่างเป็นผู้ทำขึ้น รูปนั้นจึงมิได้เป็นพระเจ้า รูปลูกวัวของสะมาเรียจะต้องถูกทุบให้เป็นชิ้นๆ
7For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk; should it sprout, it would yield no meal; if so be it yield, strangers shall swallow it up.
7เพราะว่าเขาหว่านลม เขาจึงต้องเกี่ยวลมบ้าหมู ต้นข้าวไม่มีรวง จะไม่เกิดข้าวสำหรับทำแป้ง ถึงจะเกิด คนต่างด้าวก็เอาไปกิน
8Israel is swallowed up: now are they become among the nations as a vessel wherein is no pleasure.
8อิสราเอลถูกกลืนไปหมดแล้ว เดี๋ยวนี้อยู่ท่ามกลางประชาชาติทั้งหลาย เป็นเหมือนภาชนะไร้ความพึงพอใจ
9For they are gone up [to] Assyria [as] a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath hired lovers.
9เขาทั้งหลายขึ้นไปหาอัสซีเรียดังลาป่าที่ท่องเที่ยวอยู่ลำพัง เอฟราอิมได้จ้างคนรักมา
10Although they hire among the nations, now will I gather them, and they shall begin to be straitened under the burden of the king of princes.
10เออ แม้ว่าเขาจ้างประชาชาติอื่นมา ไม่ช้าเราจะต้อนเขาให้รวมกัน เขาจะเป็นทุกข์เล็กน้อยเรื่องภาระของกษัตริย์จอมเจ้านาย
11Because Ephraim hath multiplied altars to sin, altars shall be unto him to sin.
11เพราะเหตุเอฟราอิมได้ก่อสร้างแท่นบูชาเพิ่มขึ้นเพื่อบาป แท่นบูชาเหล่านั้นก็กลับกลายเป็นแท่นเพื่อบาปให้เขา
12I have prescribed unto him the manifold things of my law: they are counted [as] a strange thing.
12ถึงเราได้เขียนราชบัญญัติไว้ให้สักหมื่นข้อ เขาก็ถือว่าเป็นเพียงของแปลก
13They sacrifice flesh [for] the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat it; Jehovah hath no delight in them. Now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.
13ส่วนเครื่องสัตวบูชาที่ถวายแก่เรานั้น เขาถวายเนื้อและรับประทานเนื้อนั้น แต่พระเยโฮวาห์มิได้พอพระทัยในตัวเขา บัดนี้พระองค์จะทรงระลึกถึงความชั่วช้าของเขา และจะทรงลงโทษเขาเพราะบาปของเขา เขาจะกลับไปยังอียิปต์
14For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.
14เพราะว่าอิสราเอลได้ลืมพระผู้สร้างของตนเสียแล้ว จึงสร้างวิหารขึ้นหลายแห่ง และยูดาห์ก็ทวีจำนวนเมืองที่มีกำแพงขึ้นอีก แต่เราจะส่งไฟมายังเมืองเหล่านี้ของเขา และไฟจะเผาผลาญปราสาทของเมืองเหล่านี้เสีย
