1Jesus, having said these things, went out with his disciples beyond the torrent Cedron, where was a garden, into which he entered, he and his disciples.
1เมื่อพระเยซูตรัสดังนี้แล้ว พระองค์ได้เสด็จออกไปกับเหล่าสาวกของพระองค์ข้ามลำธารขิดโรนไปยังสวนแห่งหนึ่ง พระองค์เสด็จเข้าไปในสวนนั้นกับเหล่าสาวก
2And Judas also, who delivered him up, knew the place, because Jesus was often there, in company with his disciples.
2ยูดาสผู้ที่ทรยศพระองค์ก็รู้จักสวนนั้นด้วย เพราะว่าพระเยซูกับเหล่าสาวกของพระองค์เคยมาพบกันที่นั่นบ่อยๆ
3Judas therefore, having got the band, and officers of the chief priests and Pharisees, comes there with lanterns and torches and weapons.
3ยูดาสจึงพาพวกทหารกับเจ้าหน้าที่มาจากพวกปุโรหิตใหญ่และพวกฟาริสี ถือโคมถือไต้และเครื่องอาวุธไปที่นั่น
4Jesus therefore, knowing all things that were coming upon him, went forth and said to them, Whom seek ye?

5They answered him, Jesus the Nazaraean. Jesus says to them, I am [he]. And Judas also, who delivered him up, stood with them.
5เขาทูลตอบพระองค์ว่า "มาหาเยซูชาวนาซาเร็ธ" พระเยซูตรัสกับเขาว่า "เราคือผู้นั้นแหละ" ยูดาสผู้ทรยศพระองค์ไว้ก็ยืนอยู่กับคนเหล่านั้นด้วย
6When therefore he said to them, I am [he], they went away backward and fell to the ground.
6เมื่อพระองค์ตรัสกับเขาทั้งหลายว่า "เราคือผู้นั้นแหละ" เขาทั้งหลายได้ถอยหลังและล้มลงที่ดิน
7He demanded of them therefore again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus the Nazaraean.
7พระองค์จึงตรัสถามเขาอีกว่า "ท่านมาหาใคร" เขาทูลตอบว่า "มาหาเยซูชาวนาซาเร็ธ"
8Jesus answered, I told you that I am [he]: if therefore ye seek me, let these go away;
8พระเยซูตรัสตอบว่า "เราบอกท่านแล้วว่าเราคือผู้นั้น เหตุฉะนั้นถ้าท่านแสวงหาเราก็จงปล่อยคนเหล่านี้ไปเถิด"
9that the word might be fulfilled which he spoke, [As to] those whom thou hast given me, I have not lost one of them.
9ทั้งนี้ก็เพื่อพระดำรัสจะสำเร็จ ซึ่งพระเยซูตรัสไว้แล้วว่า "คนเหล่านั้นซึ่งพระองค์ได้ประทานแก่ข้าพระองค์ไม่ได้เสียไปสักคนเดียว"
10Simon Peter therefore, having a sword, drew it, and smote the bondman of the high priest and cut off his right ear; and the bondman's name was Malchus.
10ซีโมนเปโตรมีดาบ จึงชักออกและฟันผู้รับใช้คนหนึ่งของมหาปุโรหิต ถูกหูข้างขวาขาดไป ชื่อของผู้รับใช้คนนั้นคือมัลคัส
11Jesus therefore said to Peter, Put the sword into the sheath; the cup which the Father has given me, shall I not drink it?
11พระเยซูจึงตรัสกับเปโตรว่า "จงเอาดาบใส่ฝักเสีย เราจะไม่ดื่มถ้วยซึ่งพระบิดาของเราประทานแก่เราหรือ"
12The band therefore, and the chiliarch, and the officers of the Jews, took Jesus and bound him:
12พวกพลทหารกับนายทหารและเจ้าหน้าที่ของพวกยิวจึงจับพระเยซูมัดไว้
13and they led him away to Annas first; for he was father-in-law to Caiaphas, who was high priest that year.
13แล้วพาพระองค์ไปหาอันนาสก่อน เพราะอันนาสเป็นพ่อตาของคายาฟาสผู้ซึ่งเป็นมหาปุโรหิตประจำการในปีนั้น
14But it was Caiaphas who counselled the Jews that it was better that one man should perish for the people.

15Now Simon Peter followed Jesus, and the other disciple. But that disciple was known to the high priest, and went in with Jesus into the palace of the high priest;

16but Peter stood at the door without. The other disciple therefore, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to the porteress and brought in Peter.
16แต่เปโตรยืนอยู่ข้างนอกริมประตู สาวกอีกคนหนึ่งนั้นที่รู้จักกันกับมหาปุโรหิต จึงได้ออกไปและพูดกับหญิงที่เฝ้าประตู แล้วก็พาเปโตรเข้าไป
17The maid therefore, who was porteress, says to Peter, Art thou also of the disciples of this man? He says, I am not.
17ผู้หญิงคนที่เฝ้าประตูจึงถามเปโตรว่า "ท่านเป็นสาวกของคนนั้นด้วยหรือ" เขาตอบว่า "ข้าไม่เป็น"
18But the bondmen and officers, having made a fire of coals (for it was cold), stood and warmed themselves; and Peter was standing with them and warming himself.
18พวกผู้รับใช้กับเจ้าหน้าที่ก็ยืนอยู่ที่นั่นเอาถ่านมาก่อไฟเพราะอากาศหนาว แล้วก็ยืนผิงไฟกัน เปโตรก็ยืนผิงไฟอยู่กับเขาด้วย
19The high priest therefore demanded of Jesus concerning his disciples and concerning his doctrine.
19มหาปุโรหิตจึงได้ถามพระเยซูถึงเหล่าสาวกของพระองค์ และคำสอนของพระองค์
20Jesus answered him, I spoke openly to the world; I taught always in [the] synagogue and in the temple, where all the Jews come together, and in secret I have spoken nothing.
20พระเยซูตรัสตอบท่านว่า "เราได้กล่าวให้โลกฟังโดยเปิดเผย เราสั่งสอนเสมอทั้งในธรรมศาลาและที่ในพระวิหารที่พวกยิวเคยชุมนุมกัน และเราไม่ได้กล่าวสิ่งใดอย่างลับๆเลย
21Why demandest thou of me? Demand of those who have heard, what I have spoken to them; behold, they know what I have said.
21ท่านถามเราทำไม จงถามผู้ที่ได้ฟังเราว่า เราได้พูดอะไรกับเขา ดูเถิด เขารู้ว่าเรากล่าวอะไร"
22But as he said these things, one of the officers who stood by gave a blow on the face to Jesus, saying, Answerest thou the high priest thus?
22เมื่อพระองค์ตรัสดังนั้นแล้ว เจ้าหน้าที่คนหนึ่งซึ่งยืนอยู่ที่นั่นได้ตบพระเยซูด้วยฝ่ามือของเขาแล้วพูดว่า "เจ้าตอบมหาปุโรหิตอย่างนั้นหรือ"
23Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil; but if well, why smitest thou me?
23พระเยซูตรัสตอบเขาว่า "ถ้าเราพูดผิด จงเป็นพยานในสิ่งที่ผิดนั้น แต่ถ้าเราพูดถูก ท่านตบเราทำไม"
24Annas [then] had sent him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.
24อันนาสจึงให้พาพระเยซูซึ่งถูกมัดอยู่ไปหาคายาฟาสผู้เป็นมหาปุโรหิตประจำการ
25But Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said therefore to him, Art thou also of his disciples? He denied, and said, I am not.
25ซีโมนเปโตรกำลังยืนผิงไฟอยู่ คนเหล่านั้นจึงถามเปโตรว่า "เจ้าเป็นสาวกของคนนั้นด้วยหรือ" เปโตรปฏิเสธว่า "ข้าไม่เป็น"
26One of the bondmen of the high priest, who was kinsman of him whose ear Peter cut off, says, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?
26ผู้รับใช้คนหนึ่งของมหาปุโรหิตซึ่งเป็นญาติกับคนที่เปโตรฟันหูขาดก็กล่าวขึ้นว่า "ข้าเห็นเจ้ากับท่านผู้นั้นในสวนไม่ใช่หรือ"
27Peter denied therefore again, and immediately [the] cock crew.
27เปโตรปฏิเสธอีกครั้งหนึ่ง และในทันใดนั้นไก่ก็ขัน
28They lead therefore Jesus from Caiaphas to the praetorium; and it was early morn. And *they* entered not into the praetorium, that they might not be defiled, but eat the passover.
28เขาจึงได้พาพระเยซูออกไปจากคายาฟาสไปยังศาลปรีโทเรียม เป็นเวลาเช้าตรู่ พวกเขาเองไม่ได้เข้าไปในศาลปรีโทเรียม เพื่อไม่ให้เป็นมลทิน แต่จะได้กินปัสกาได้
29Pilate therefore went out to them and said, What accusation do ye bring against this man?
29ปีลาตจึงออกมาหาเขาเหล่านั้นแล้วถามว่า "พวกท่านมีเรื่องอะไรมาฟ้องคนนี้"
30They answered and said to him, If this [man] were not an evildoer, we should not have delivered him up to thee.
30เขาตอบท่านว่า "ถ้าเขาไม่ใช่ผู้ร้าย พวกข้าพเจ้าก็จะไม่มอบเขาไว้กับท่าน"
31Pilate therefore said to them, Take him, ye, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said to him, It is not permitted to us to put any one to death;
31ปีลาตจึงกล่าวแก่เขาว่า "พวกท่านจงเอาคนนี้ไปพิพากษาตามกฎหมายของท่านเถิด" พวกยิวจึงเรียนท่านว่า "การที่พวกข้าพเจ้าจะประหารชีวิตคนใดคนหนึ่งนั้นเป็นการผิดกฎหมาย"
32that the word of Jesus might be fulfilled which he spoke, signifying what death he should die.
32ทั้งนี้เพื่อพระดำรัสของพระเยซูจะสำเร็จ ซึ่งพระองค์ตรัสว่า พระองค์จะทรงสิ้นพระชนม์อย่างไร
33Pilate therefore entered again into the praetorium and called Jesus, and said to him, Thou art the king of the Jews?
33ปีลาตจึงเข้าไปในศาลปรีโทเรียมอีก และเรียกพระเยซูมาทูลถามพระองค์ว่า "ท่านเป็นกษัตริย์ของพวกยิวหรือ"
34Jesus answered [him], Dost thou say this of thyself, or have others said it to thee concerning me?
34พระเยซูตรัสตอบท่านว่า "ท่านถามอย่างนั้นแต่ลำพังท่านเองหรือ หรือมีคนอื่นบอกท่านถึงเรื่องของเรา"
35Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thy nation and the chief priests have delivered thee up to me: what hast thou done?
35ปีลาตทูลตอบว่า "เราเป็นยิวหรือ ชนชาติของท่านเองและพวกปุโรหิตใหญ่ได้มอบท่านไว้กับเรา ท่านทำผิดอะไร"
36Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world; if my kingdom were of this world, my servants had fought that I might not be delivered up to the Jews; but now my kingdom is not from hence.
36พระเยซูตรัสตอบว่า "อาณาจักรของเรามิได้เป็นของโลกนี้ ถ้าอาณาจักรของเรามาจากโลกนี้ คนของเราก็จะได้ต่อสู้ไม่ให้เราตกในเงื้อมมือของพวกยิว แต่บัดนี้อาณาจักรของเรามิได้มาจากโลกนี้"
37Pilate therefore said to him, Thou art then a king? Jesus answered, Thou sayest [it], that I am a king. I have been born for this, and for this I have come into the world, that I might bear witness to the truth. Every one that is of the truth hears my voice.
37ปีลาตจึงทูลถามพระองค์ว่า "ถ้าเช่นนั้นท่านเป็นกษัตริย์หรือ" พระเยซูตรัสตอบว่า "ท่านพูดว่าเราเป็นกษัตริย์ เพราะเหตุนี้เราจึงเกิดมาและเข้ามาในโลก เพื่อเราจะเป็นพยานถึงความจริง คนทั้งปวงซึ่งอยู่ฝ่ายความจริงย่อมฟังเสียงของเรา"
38Pilate says to him, What is truth? And having said this he went out again to the Jews, and says to them, I find no fault whatever in him.
38ปีลาตทูลถามพระองค์ว่า "ความจริงคืออะไร" เมื่อถามดังนั้นแล้วท่านก็ออกไปหาพวกยิวอีก และบอกเขาว่า "เราไม่เห็นคนนั้นมีความผิดแม้แต่น้อย
39But ye have a custom that I release [some] one to you at the passover; will ye therefore that I release unto you the king of the Jews?
39แต่พวกท่านมีธรรมเนียมให้เราปล่อยคนหนึ่งให้แก่ท่านในเทศกาลปัสกา ฉะนั้นท่านจะให้เราปล่อยกษัตริย์ของพวกยิวให้แก่ท่านหรือ"
40They cried therefore again all, saying, Not this [man], but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.
40คนทั้งหลายจึงร้องขึ้นอีกว่า "อย่าปล่อยคนนี้ แต่จงปล่อยบารับบัส" บารับบัสนั้นเป็นโจร
