1And Jonah prayed unto Jehovah his God out of the fish's belly;
1แล้วโยนาห์ก็อธิษฐานต่อพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านจากภายในท้องปลานั้น
2and he said: I cried by reason of my distress unto Jehovah, and he answered me; Out of the belly of Sheol cried I: thou heardest my voice.
2ว่า "ในคราวที่ข้าพระองค์ตกทุกข์ได้ยาก ข้าพระองค์ร้องทุกข์ต่อพระเยโฮวาห์ และพระองค์ทรงสดับข้าพระองค์ ข้าพระองค์ร้องทูลจากท้องของนรก และพระองค์ทรงฟังเสียงข้าพระองค์
3For thou didst cast me into the depth, into the heart of the seas, And the flood was round about me: All thy breakers and thy billows are gone over me.
3เพราะพระองค์ทรงเหวี่ยงข้าพระองค์ลงไปในที่ลึกในท้องทะเล และน้ำก็ท่วมล้อมรอบข้าพระองค์ไว้ บรรดาคลื่นและระลอกของพระองค์ท่วมข้าพระองค์แล้ว
4And I said, I am cast out from before thine eyes, Yet will I look again toward thy holy temple.
4ข้าพระองค์จึงทูลว่า `ข้าพระองค์ถูกเหวี่ยงให้พ้นจากสายพระเนตรของพระองค์ แต่ข้าพระองค์จะเงยหน้าดูพระวิหารบริสุทธิ์ของพระองค์ได้อีก'
5The waters encompassed me, to the soul: The deep was round about me, The weeds were wrapped about my head.
5น้ำก็ท่วมมิดข้าพระองค์ คือถึงจิตใจข้าพระองค์ ที่ลึกก็อยู่รอบตัวข้าพระองค์ สาหร่ายทะเลก็พันศีรษะข้าพระองค์อยู่
6I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; The bars of the earth [closed] upon me for ever: But thou hast brought up my life from the pit, O Jehovah my God.
6ข้าพระองค์ลงไปยังที่รากแห่งภูเขาทั้งหลาย แผ่นดินกับดาลประตูปิดกั้นข้าพระองค์ไว้เป็นนิตย์ แต่กระนั้นก็ดี ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของข้าพระองค์ พระองค์ยังทรงนำชีวิตของข้าพระองค์ขึ้นมาจากความเปื่อยเน่า
7When my soul fainted within me, I remembered Jehovah; And my prayer came in unto thee, Into thy holy temple.
7เมื่อจิตใจอ่อนเพลียไปในตัวของข้าพระองค์ ข้าพระองค์ระลึกถึงพระเยโฮวาห์ และคำอธิษฐานของข้าพระองค์มาถึงพระองค์ เข้าสู่พระวิหารบริสุทธิ์ของพระองค์
8They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
8บรรดาผู้ที่แสดงความนับถือต่อพระเทียมเท็จ ย่อมสละทิ้งพระเมตตาเสีย
9But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation is of Jehovah.
9แต่ข้าพระองค์จะถวายสัตวบูชาแด่พระองค์ พร้อมด้วยเสียงโมทนาพระคุณ ข้าพระองค์ปฏิญาณไว้อย่างไร ข้าพระองค์จะทำตามคำปฏิญาณอย่างนั้น การที่ช่วยให้รอดนั้นเป็นของพระเยโฮวาห์"
10And Jehovah commanded the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry [land].
10และพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสสั่งปลานั้น มันก็สำรอกโยนาห์ออกไว้บนแผ่นดินแห้ง
