1The burden of the word of Jehovah to Israel by Malachi.
1ภาระแห่งพระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์ที่มีต่ออิสราเอลโดยมาลาคี
2I have loved you, saith Jehovah; but ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith Jehovah, and I loved Jacob,
2พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า "เราได้รักเจ้าทั้งหลาย" แต่ท่านทั้งหลายพูดว่า "พระองค์ได้ทรงรักข้าพระองค์สถานใด" พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า "เอซาวเป็นพี่ชายของยาโคบมิใช่หรือ เราก็ยังรักยาโคบ
3and I hated Esau; and made his mountains a desolation, and [gave] his inheritance to the jackals of the wilderness.
3แต่เราได้เกลียดเอซาว เราได้กระทำให้เทือกเขาและมรดกของเขาร้างเปล่าสำหรับมังกรแห่งถิ่นทุรกันดาร"
4If Edom say, We are broken down, but we will build again the ruined places, -- thus saith Jehovah of hosts: They shall build, but I will throw down; and [men] shall call them the territory of wickedness, and the people against whom Jehovah hath indignation for ever.
4เมื่อเอโดมกล่าวว่า "เราถูกบั่นทอนเสียแล้ว แต่เราจะกลับมาสร้างที่ปรักหักพังขึ้นใหม่" พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาตรัสดังนี้ว่า "เขาทั้งหลายจะสร้างขึ้น แต่เราจะรื้อลงเสีย และผู้คนจะเรียกเขาเหล่านี้ว่า `เป็นเขตแดนแห่งความชั่วร้าย' และ `เป็นชนชาติที่พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงกริ้วอยู่เป็นนิตย์'"
5And your eyes shall see [it], and ye shall say, Jehovah is magnified beyond the border of Israel.
5ตาของเจ้าเองจะเห็นสิ่งนี้และเจ้าจะกล่าวว่า "พระเยโฮวาห์นี้จะใหญ่ยิ่งนักแม้กระทั่งนอกเขตแดนของอิสราเอล"
6A son honoureth [his] father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith Jehovah of hosts unto you, priests, that despise my name. But ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?
6"บุตรชายก็ย่อมให้เกียรติแก่บิดาของเขา คนใช้ก็ย่อมให้เกียรตินายของเขา แล้วถ้าเราเป็นพระบิดา เกียรติของเราอยู่ที่ไหน และถ้าเราเป็นนาย ความยำเกรงเรามีอยู่ที่ไหน นี่แหละพระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาตรัสแก่ท่านนะ โอ บรรดาปุโรหิต ผู้ดูหมิ่นนามของเรา ท่านก็ว่า `ข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายดูหมิ่นพระนามของพระองค์สถานใด'
7Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of Jehovah is contemptible.
7ก็โดยนำอาหารมลทินมาถวายบนแท่นของเราอย่างไรล่ะ แล้วท่านว่า `ข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายกระทำให้พระองค์เป็นมลทินสถานใด' ก็โดยคิดว่า `โต๊ะของพระเยโฮวาห์นั้นเป็นที่ดูหมิ่น' อย่างไรล่ะ
8And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? And if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? Present it now unto thy governor: will he be pleased with thee? or will he accept thy person? saith Jehovah of hosts.
8เมื่อเจ้านำสัตว์ตาบอดมาเป็นสัตวบูชา กระทำเช่นนั้นไม่ชั่วหรือ และเมื่อเจ้าถวายสัตว์ที่พิการหรือป่วย กระทำเช่นนั้นไม่ชั่วหรือ พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาตรัสว่า จงนำของอย่างนั้นไปกำนัลเจ้าเมืองของเจ้าดู เขาจะพอใจเจ้าหรือ จะแสดงความชอบพอต่อเจ้าไหม
9And now, I pray you, beseech ùGod that he will be gracious unto us. This hath been of your hand: will he accept any of your persons? saith Jehovah of hosts.
9ลองอ้อนวอนขอความชอบต่อพระเจ้า เพื่อพระองค์จะทรงพระกรุณาต่อพวกเราดูซี ด้วยของถวายดังกล่าวมานี้จากมือของเจ้า พระองค์จะทรงชอบพอเจ้าสักคนหนึ่งหรือ พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาตรัสดังนี้แหละ
10Who is there among you that would even shut the doors? and ye would not kindle [fire] on mine altar for nothing. I have no delight in you, saith Jehovah of hosts, neither will I accept an oblation at your hand.
10โอ อยากให้มีสักคนหนึ่งในพวกเจ้าซึ่งจะปิดประตูเสีย เพื่อว่าเจ้าจะไม่ก่อไฟบนแท่นบูชาของเราเสียเปล่า พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาตรัสว่า เราไม่พอใจเจ้า และเราจะไม่รับเครื่องบูชาจากมือของเจ้า
11For from the rising of the sun even unto its setting my name shall be great among the nations; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure oblation: for my name shall be great among the nations, saith Jehovah of hosts.
11พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาตรัสว่า ตั้งแต่ที่ดวงอาทิตย์ขึ้นถึงที่ดวงอาทิตย์ตกนามของเราจะใหญ่ยิ่งท่ามกลางประชาชาติทั้งหลาย และเขาถวายเครื่องหอมและของถวายที่บริสุทธิ์แด่นามของเราทุกที่ทุกแห่ง เพราะว่านามของเรานั้นจะใหญ่ยิ่งท่ามกลางประชาชาติ
12But ye profane it, in that ye say, The table of the Lord is polluted; and the fruit thereof, his food, is contemptible.
12แต่เมื่อเจ้ากล่าวว่า `โต๊ะของพระเยโฮวาห์เป็นมลทิน' และว่า `ผลของโต๊ะนั้นคืออาหารที่ถวายนั้นน่าดูถูก' เจ้าก็ได้กระทำให้นามนั้นเป็นมลทินไปแล้ว
13And ye say, Behold, what a weariness! And ye have puffed at it, saith Jehovah of hosts, and ye bring [that which was] torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye bring the oblation: should I accept this of your hand? saith Jehovah.
13พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาตรัสว่า เจ้ากล่าวว่า `ดูเถิด อย่างนี้น่าอ่อนระอาใจจริง' แล้วเจ้าก็ทำฮึดฮัดกับเรา เจ้านำเอาสิ่งที่ได้แย่งมา หรือสิ่งที่พิการหรือป่วย ของเหล่านี้แหละเจ้านำมาเป็นของบูชา พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า เราจะรับของนั้นจากมือของเจ้าได้หรือ
14Yea, cursed be the deceiver, who hath in his flock a male, and voweth and sacrificeth unto the Lord a corrupt thing; for I am a great King, saith Jehovah of hosts, and my name is terrible among the nations.
14พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาตรัสว่า คนใดที่มีสัตว์ตัวผู้อยู่ในฝูง และได้ปฏิญาณไว้ และยังเอาสัตว์พิการไปถวายแด่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า คำสาปแช่งจงตกอยู่กับคนโกงนั้นเถิด เพราะเราเป็นพระมหากษัตริย์ และนามของเราเป็นที่กลัวเกรงท่านกลางประชาชาติทั้งหลาย"
