1And as he was going out of the temple, one of his disciples says to him, Teacher, see what stones and what buildings!
1เมื่อพระองค์เสด็จออกจากพระวิหาร มีสาวกของพระองค์คนหนึ่งทูลพระองค์ว่า "พระอาจารย์เจ้าข้า ดูเถิด ศิลาและตึกเหล่านี้ใหญ่จริง"
2And Jesus answering said to him, Seest thou these great buildings? not a stone shall be left upon a stone, which shall not be thrown down.
2พระองค์จึงตรัสแก่สาวกนั้นว่า "ท่านเห็นตึกใหญ่เหล่านี้หรือ ศิลาที่ซ้อนทับกันอยู่ที่นี่ซึ่งจะไม่ถูกทำลายลงก็ไม่มี"
3And as he sat on the mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,
3เมื่อพระองค์ประทับบนภูเขามะกอกเทศตรงหน้าพระวิหาร เปโตร ยากอบ ยอห์นและอันดรูว์มากราบทูลถามพระองค์ส่วนตัวว่า
4Tell us, when shall these things be, and what is the sign when all these things are going to be fulfilled?
4"ขอทรงโปรดให้ข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายทราบว่า เหตุการณ์เหล่านี้จะบังเกิดขึ้นเมื่อไร สิ่งไรจะเป็นหมายสำคัญว่าการณ์ทั้งปวงนี้จวนจะสำเร็จ"
5And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any one mislead you.
5พระเยซูจึงตั้งต้นตรัสตอบเขาว่า "ระวังให้ดี อย่าให้ผู้ใดล่อลวงท่านให้หลง
6For many shall come in my name, saying, It is *I*, and shall mislead many.
6ด้วยว่าจะมีหลายคนมาต่างอ้างนามของเราว่า `เราเป็นพระคริสต์' และจะล่อลวงคนเป็นอันมากให้หลงไป
7But when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be not disturbed, for [this] must happen, but the end is not yet.
7เมื่อท่านทั้งหลายจะได้ยินถึงการสงครามและข่าวลือเรื่องสงคราม อย่าตื่นตระหนกเลย ด้วยว่าบรรดาสิ่งเหล่านี้จำต้องบังเกิดขึ้น แต่ที่สุดปลายยังไม่มาถึง
8For nation shall rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be earthquakes in [different] places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these things [are the] beginnings of throes.
8เพราะประชาชาติต่อประชาชาติ ราชอาณาจักรต่อราชอาณาจักรจะต่อสู้กัน ทั้งจะเกิดแผ่นดินไหวในที่ต่างๆ และจะเกิดกันดารอาหารและความทุกข์ยาก เหตุการณ์ทั้งปวงนี้เป็นขั้นแรกแห่งความทุกข์ลำบาก
9But *ye*, take heed to yourselves, for they shall deliver you up to sanhedrims and to synagogues: ye shall be beaten and brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them;
9แต่จงระวังตัวให้ดี เพราะคนเขาจะมอบท่านทั้งหลายไว้กับศาล และจะเฆี่ยนท่านในธรรมศาลา และท่านจะต้องยืนต่อหน้าเจ้าเมืองและกษัตริย์เพราะเห็นแก่เรา เพื่อจะได้เป็นพยานแก่เขา
10and the gospel must first be preached to all the nations.
10ข่าวประเสริฐจะต้องประกาศทั่วประชาชาติทั้งปวงก่อน
11But when they shall lead you away to deliver you up, be not careful beforehand as to what ye shall say, [nor prepare your discourse]: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak; for *ye* are not the speakers, but the Holy Spirit.
11แต่ว่าเมื่อเขาจะนำท่านมามอบไว้นั้น อย่าเป็นกังวลก่อนว่าจะพูดอะไรดี และอย่าตรึกตรองเลย แต่จงพูดตามซึ่งได้ทรงโปรดให้ท่านพูดในเวลานั้น เพราะว่าผู้ที่พูดนั้นมิใช่ตัวท่านเอง แต่เป็นพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์
12But brother shall deliver up brother to death, and father child; and children shall rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.
12แม้ว่าพี่ก็จะทรยศน้องให้ถึงความตาย พ่อก็จะมอบลูก และลูกก็จะทรยศต่อพ่อแม่ให้ถึงแก่ความตาย
13And ye will be hated of all on account of my name; but he that has endured to the end, *he* shall be saved.
13คนทั้งปวงจะเกลียดชังท่านเพราะนามของเรา แต่ผู้ใดทนได้จนถึงที่สุด ผู้นั้นจะรอด
14But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation standing where it should not, (he that reads let him consider [it],) then let those in Judaea flee to the mountains;
14แต่เมื่อท่านทั้งหลายจะเห็นสิ่งที่น่าสะอิดสะเอียนซึ่งกระทำให้เกิดการรกร้างว่างเปล่า ที่ดาเนียลศาสดาพยากรณ์ได้กล่าวถึงนั้น ตั้งอยู่ในที่ซึ่งไม่สมควรจะตั้ง" (ให้ผู้อ่านเข้าใจเอาเถิด) "เวลานั้นให้ผู้ที่อยู่ในแคว้นยูเดียหนีไปยังภูเขา
15and him that is upon the housetop not come down into the house, nor enter [into it] to take away anything out of his house;
15ผู้ที่อยู่บนดาดฟ้าหลังคาบ้าน อย่าให้ลงมาเข้าไปเก็บเอาสิ่งของในบ้านของตนเลย
16and him that is in the field not return back to take his garment.
16ผู้ที่อยู่ตามทุ่งนา อย่าให้กลับไปเอาเสื้อผ้าของตน
17But woe to those that are with child and to those that give suck in those days!
17แต่ในวันเหล่านั้น อนิจจาน่าสงสารหญิงที่มีครรภ์หรือมีลูกอ่อนกินนมอยู่
18And pray that it may not be in winter time;
18ท่านทั้งหลายจงอธิษฐานขอเพื่อเหตุการณ์เหล่านี้จะไม่เกิดขึ้นในฤดูหนาว
19for those days shall be distress such as there has not been the like since [the] beginning of creation which God created, until now, and never shall be;
19ด้วยว่าในคราวนั้นจะเกิดความทุกข์ลำบากอย่างที่ไม่เคยมี ตั้งแต่พระเจ้าทรงสร้างโลกมาจนถึงทุกวันนี้ และในเบื้องหน้าจะไม่มีต่อไปอีก
20and if [the] Lord had not cut short those days, no flesh should have been saved; but on account of the elect whom he has chosen, he has cut short those days.
20ถ้าองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้ามิได้ทรงให้วันเหล่านั้นย่นสั้นเข้า จะไม่มีเนื้อหนังใดๆรอดได้เลย แต่เพราะทรงเห็นแก่ผู้ถูกเลือกสรรซึ่งพระองค์ได้ทรงเลือกไว้ พระองค์จึงทรงให้วันเหล่านั้นย่นสั้นเข้า
21And then if any one say to you, Lo, here [is] the Christ, or Lo, there, believe [it] not.
21และในเวลานั้น ถ้าผู้ใดจะบอกพวกท่านว่า `ดูเถิด พระคริสต์อยู่ที่นี่' หรือ `ดูเถิด อยู่ที่โน่น' อย่าได้เชื่อเลย
22For false Christs and false prophets will arise, and give signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
22ด้วยว่าจะมีพระคริสต์เทียมเท็จและผู้ทำนายเทียมเท็จหลายคนเกิดขึ้น ทำหมายสำคัญและการมหัศจรรย์เพื่อล่อลวงผู้ที่ถูกเลือกสรรแล้วให้หลง ถ้าเป็นได้
23But do *ye* take heed: behold, I have told you all things beforehand.
23แต่ท่านทั้งหลายจงระวังให้ดี ดูเถิด เราได้บอกสิ่งสารพัดให้แก่ท่านทั้งหลายไว้ก่อนแล้ว
24But in those days, after that distress, the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give its light;
24ภายหลังเมื่อคราวลำบากนั้นพ้นไปแล้ว `ดวงอาทิตย์จะมืดไป และดวงจันทร์จะไม่ส่องแสง
25and the stars of heaven shall be falling down, and the powers which are in the heavens shall be shaken;
25ดวงดาวทั้งปวงจะตกจากฟ้า และบรรดาสิ่งที่มีอำนาจในท้องฟ้าจะสะเทือนสะท้าน'
26and then shall they see the Son of man coming in clouds with great power and glory;
26เมื่อนั้นเขาจะเห็น `บุตรมนุษย์เสด็จมาบนเมฆ' ทรงฤทธานุภาพและสง่าราศีเป็นอันมาก
27and then shall he send his angels and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from end of earth to end of heaven.
27เมื่อนั้นพระองค์จะทรงใช้เหล่าทูตสวรรค์ของพระองค์ ให้รวบรวมคนทั้งปวงที่พระองค์ทรงเลือกสรรไว้แล้วทั้งสี่ทิศนั้น ตั้งแต่ที่สุดปลายแผ่นดินโลกจนถึงที่สุดขอบฟ้า
28But learn the parable from the fig-tree: when its branch already becomes tender and puts forth the leaves, ye know that the summer is near.
28จงเรียนคำอุปมาเรื่องต้นมะเดื่อ เมื่อแตกกิ่งแตกใบ ท่านก็รู้ว่าฤดูร้อนใกล้จะถึงแล้ว
29Thus also *ye*, when ye see these things happening, know that it is near, at the doors.
29เช่นนั้นแหละ เมื่อท่านทั้งหลายเห็นเหตุการณ์เหล่านั้นเกิดขึ้น ก็ให้รู้ว่า พระองค์เสด็จมาใกล้จะถึงประตูแล้ว
30Verily I say unto you, This generation shall in no wise pass away, till all these things take place.
30เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า คนชั่วอายุนี้จะไม่ล่วงลับไปก่อนสิ่งทั้งปวงนั้นบังเกิดขึ้น
31The heaven and the earth shall pass away, but my words shall in no wise pass away.
31ฟ้าและดินจะล่วงไป แต่ถ้อยคำของเราจะสูญหายไปหามิได้เลย
32But of that day or of that hour no one knows, neither the angels who are in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father.
32แต่วันนั้นโมงนั้นไม่มีใครรู้ ถึงบรรดาทูตสวรรค์ในสวรรค์หรือพระบุตรก็ไม่รู้ รู้แต่พระบิดาองค์เดียว
33Take heed, watch and pray, for ye do not know when the time is:
33จงเฝ้าระวังและอธิษฐานอยู่ เพราะท่านไม่รู้ว่าเวลาวันนั้นจะมาถึงเมื่อไร
34[it is] as a man gone out of the country, having left his house and given to his bondmen the authority, and to each one his work, and commanded the doorkeeper that he should watch.
34ด้วยว่าบุตรมนุษย์เปรียบเหมือนเจ้าของบ้านคนหนึ่งที่ออกจากบ้านไปทางไกล มอบสิทธิอำนาจให้แก่พวกผู้รับใช้ของเขา และให้รู้การงานของตนว่ามีหน้าที่อะไรและได้สั่งนายประตูให้เฝ้าบ้านอยู่
35Watch therefore, for ye do not know when the master of the house comes: evening, or midnight, or cock-crow, or morning;
35เหตุฉะนั้น ท่านทั้งหลายจงเฝ้าระวังอยู่ เพราะท่านไม่รู้ว่าเจ้าของบ้านจะมาเมื่อไร จะมาเวลาค่ำ หรือเที่ยงคืน หรือเวลาไก่ขัน หรือรุ่งเช้า
36lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
36กลัวว่าจะมาฉับพลันและจะพบท่านนอนหลับอยู่
37But what I say to you, I say to all, Watch.
37ซึ่งเราบอกพวกท่าน เราก็บอกคนทั้งปวงด้วยว่า จงเฝ้าระวังอยู่เถิด"
