1And after six days Jesus takes with [him] Peter, and James, and John his brother, and brings them up into a high mountain apart.
1ครั้นล่วงไปได้หกวันแล้ว พระเยซูทรงพาเปโตร ยากอบ และยอห์นน้องชายของยากอบ ขึ้นภูเขาสูงแต่ลำพัง
2And he was transfigured before them. And his face shone as the sun, and his garments became white as the light;
2แล้วพระกายของพระองค์ก็เปลี่ยนไปต่อหน้าเขา พระพักตร์ของพระองค์ก็ทอแสงเหมือนแสงอาทิตย์ ฉลองพระองค์ก็ขาวผ่องดุจแสงสว่าง
3and lo, Moses and Elias appeared to them talking with him.

4And Peter answering said to Jesus, Lord, it is good we should be here. If thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles: for thee one, and for Moses one, and one for Elias.
4ฝ่ายเปโตรทูลพระเยซูว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า ซึ่งพวกข้าพระองค์อยู่ที่นี่ก็ดี ถ้าพระองค์ต้องพระประสงค์ พวกข้าพระองค์จะทำพลับพลาสามหลังที่นี่ สำหรับพระองค์หลังหนึ่ง สำหรับโมเสสหลังหนึ่ง สำหรับเอลียาห์หลังหนึ่ง"
5While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and lo, a voice out of the cloud, saying, *This* is my beloved Son, in whom I have found my delight: hear him.
5เปโตรทูลยังไม่ทันขาดคำ ดูเถิด ก็บังเกิดมีเมฆสุกใสมาปกคลุมเขาไว้ แล้วดูเถิด มีพระสุรเสียงออกมาจากเมฆนั้นว่า "ท่านผู้นี้เป็นบุตรที่รักของเรา เราชอบใจท่านผู้นี้มาก จงฟังท่านเถิด"
6And the disciples hearing [it] fell upon their faces, and were greatly terrified.
6ฝ่ายพวกสาวกเมื่อได้ยินก็ซบหน้ากราบลงกลัวยิ่งนัก
7And Jesus coming to [them] touched them, and said, Rise up, and be not terrified.
7พระเยซูจึงเสด็จมาถูกต้องเขา แล้วตรัสว่า "จงลุกขึ้นเถิด อย่ากลัวเลย"
8And lifting up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus alone.
8เมื่อเขาเงยหน้าดูก็ไม่เห็นผู้ใด เห็นแต่พระเยซูองค์เดียว
9And as they descended from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no one, until the Son of man be risen up from among [the] dead.
9ขณะที่ลงมาจากภูเขา พระเยซูตรัสห้ามเหล่าสาวกว่า "นิมิตซึ่งพวกท่านได้เห็นนั้น อย่าบอกเล่าแก่ผู้ใดจนกว่าบุตรมนุษย์จะฟื้นขึ้นมาจากความตาย"
10And [his] disciples demanded of him saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first have come?
10เหล่าสาวกก็ทูลถามพระองค์ว่า "เหตุไฉนพวกธรรมาจารย์จึงว่า เอลียาห์จะต้องมาก่อน"
11And he answering said to them, Elias indeed comes first and will restore all things.
11พระเยซูตรัสตอบเขาว่า "เอลียาห์ต้องมาก่อนจริง และทำให้สิ่งทั้งปวงคืนสู่สภาพเดิม
12But I say unto you that Elias has already come, and they have not known him, but have done unto him whatever they would. Thus also the Son of man is about to suffer from them.
12แต่เราบอกแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า เอลียาห์นั้นได้มาแล้ว และเขาหารู้จักท่านไม่ แต่เขาใคร่ทำแก่ท่านอย่างไร เขาก็ได้กระทำแล้ว ส่วนบุตรมนุษย์จะต้องทนทุกข์จากเขาเช่นเดียวกัน"
13Then the disciples understood that he spoke to them of John the baptist.
13แล้วเหล่าสาวกจึงเข้าใจว่าพระองค์ได้ตรัสแก่เขาเล็งถึงยอห์นผู้ให้รับบัพติศมา
14And when they came to the crowd, a man came to him, falling on his knees before him, and saying,
14ครั้นพระเยซูกับเหล่าสาวกมาถึงฝูงชนแล้ว มีชายคนหนึ่งมาหาพระองค์คุกเข่าลงทูลว่า
15Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is lunatic, and suffers sorely; for often he falls into the fire and often into the water.
15"พระองค์เจ้าข้า ขอทรงพระเมตตาแก่บุตรชายของข้าพระองค์ ด้วยว่าเขาเป็นโรคลมบ้าหมู มีความทุกข์เวทนามาก เคยตกไฟตกน้ำบ่อยๆ
16And I brought him to thy disciples, and they were not able to heal him.
16ข้าพระองค์ได้พาเขามาหาพวกสาวกของพระองค์ แต่พวกสาวกนั้นรักษาเขาให้หายไม่ได้"
17And Jesus answering said, O unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to me.
17พระเยซูตรัสตอบว่า "โอ คนในยุคที่ขาดความเชื่อและมีทิฐิชั่ว เราจะต้องอยู่กับท่านทั้งหลายนานเท่าใด เราจะต้องอดทนเพราะท่านไปถึงไหน จงพาเด็กนั้นมาหาเราที่นี่เถิด"
18And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon went out from him, and the boy was healed from that hour.
18พระเยซูจึงตรัสสำทับผีนั้น มันก็ออกจากเขา ทันใดนั้นเด็กก็หายเป็นปกติ
19Then the disciples, coming to Jesus apart, said [to him], Why were not *we* able to cast him out?
19ภายหลังเหล่าสาวกมาหาพระเยซูเป็นส่วนตัวทูลถามว่า "เหตุไฉนพวกข้าพระองค์ขับผีนั้นออกไม่ได้"
20And he says to them, Because of your unbelief; for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard [seed], ye shall say to this mountain, Be transported hence there, and it shall transport itself; and nothing shall be impossible to you.
20พระเยซูตรัสตอบเขาว่า "เพราะเหตุพวกท่านไม่มีความเชื่อ ด้วยเราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า ถ้าท่านมีความเชื่อเท่าเมล็ดพันธุ์ผักกาดเมล็ดหนึ่ง ท่านจะสั่งภูเขานี้ว่า `จงเลื่อนจากที่นี่ไปที่โน่น' มันก็จะเลื่อน สิ่งหนึ่งสิ่งใดซึ่งท่านทำไม่ได้จะไม่มีเลย
21But this kind does not go out but by prayer and fasting.
21แต่ผีชนิดนี้ไม่เคยถูกขับออก เว้นไว้โดยการอธิษฐานและการอดอาหาร"
22And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said to them, The Son of man is about to be delivered up into [the] hands of men,
22ครั้นพระองค์กับเหล่าสาวกอาศัยอยู่ในแคว้นกาลิลี พระเยซูจึงตรัสกับเขาว่า "บุตรมนุษย์จะต้องถูกทรยศไว้ในมือของคนทั้งหลาย
23and they shall kill him; and the third day he shall be raised up. And they were greatly grieved.
23และเขาทั้งหลายจะประหารชีวิตท่านเสีย ในวันที่สามท่านจะกลับฟื้นขึ้นมาใหม่" พวกสาวกก็พากันเป็นทุกข์ยิ่งนัก
24And when they came to Capernaum, those who received the didrachmas came to Peter and said, Does your teacher not pay the didrachmas?
24เมื่อพระองค์กับเหล่าสาวกมาถึงเมืองคาเปอรนาอุมแล้ว ผู้เก็บค่าบำรุงพระวิหารมาหาเปโตรถามว่า "อาจารย์ของท่านไม่เสียค่าบำรุงพระวิหารหรือ"
25He says, Yes. And when he came into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, What dost thou think, Simon? the kings of the earth, from whom do they receive custom or tribute? from their own sons or from strangers?
25เปโตรตอบว่า "เสีย" เมื่อเปโตรเข้าไปในเรือน พระเยซูตรัสกับเขาก่อนว่า "ซีโมนเอ๋ย ท่านเห็นอย่างไร กษัตริย์ของแผ่นดินโลกเคยเก็บส่วยและภาษีจากผู้ใด จากโอรสหรือจากผู้อื่น"
26Peter says to him, From strangers. Jesus said to him, Then are the sons free.
26เปโตรทูลตอบพระองค์ว่า "เคยเก็บจากผู้อื่น" พระเยซูจึงตรัสกับเขาว่า "ถ้าเช่นนั้นโอรสก็ไม่ต้องเสีย
27But that we may not be an offence to them, go to the sea and cast a hook, and take the first fish that comes up, and when thou hast opened its mouth thou wilt find a stater; take that and give it to them for me and thee.
27แต่เพื่อมิให้เขาเข้าใจผิด ท่านจงไปตกเบ็ดที่ทะเล เมื่อได้ปลาตัวแรกขึ้นมาก็ให้เปิดปากมัน แล้วจะพบเงินแผ่นหนึ่ง จงเอาเงินนั้นไปชำระค่าบำรุงพระวิหารสำหรับเรากับท่านเถิด"
