1And God spoke all these words, saying,
1Tanrı şöyle konuştu:
2I am Jehovah thy God, who have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
2‹‹Seni Mısırdan, köle olduğun ülkeden çıkaran Tanrın RAB benim.
3Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
3‹‹Benden başka tanrın olmayacak.
4Thou shalt not make thyself any graven image, or any form of what is in the heavens above, or what is in the earth beneath, or what is in the waters under the earth:
4‹‹Kendine yukarıda gökyüzünde, aşağıda yeryüzünde ya da yer altındaki sularda yaşayan herhangi bir canlıya benzer put yapmayacaksın.
5thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them; for I, Jehovah thy God, am a jealous ùGod, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons to the third and to the fourth [generation] of them that hate me,
5Putların önünde eğilmeyecek, onlara tapmayacaksın. Çünkü ben, Tanrın RAB, kıskanç bir Tanrıyım. Benden nefret edenin babasının işlediği suçun hesabını çocuklarından, üçüncü, dördüncü kuşaklardan sorarım.
6and shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.
6Ama beni seven, buyruklarıma uyan binlerce kuşağa sevgi gösteririm.
7Thou shalt not idly utter the name of Jehovah thy God; for Jehovah will not hold him guiltless that idly uttereth his name.
7‹‹Tanrın RABbin adını boş yere ağzına almayacaksın. Çünkü RAB, adını boş yere ağzına alanları cezasız bırakmayacaktır.
8Remember the sabbath day to hallow it.
8‹‹Şabat Gününü kutsal sayarak anımsa.
9Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work;
9Altı gün çalışacak, bütün işlerini yapacaksın.
10but the seventh day is the sabbath of Jehovah thy God: thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy bondman, nor thy handmaid, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates.
10Ama yedinci gün bana, Tanrın RABbe Şabat Günü olarak adanmıştır. O gün sen, oğlun, kızın, erkek ve kadın kölen, hayvanların, aranızdaki yabancılar dahil, hiçbir iş yapmayacaksınız.
11For in six days Jehovah made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore Jehovah blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
11Çünkü ben, RAB yeri göğü, denizi ve bütün canlıları altı günde yarattım, yedinci gün dinlendim. Bu yüzden Şabat Gününü kutsadım ve kutsal bir gün olarak belirledim.
12Honour thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be prolonged in the land that Jehovah thy God giveth thee.
12‹‹Annene babana saygı göster. Öyle ki, Tanrın RABbin sana vereceği ülkede ömrün uzun olsun.
13Thou shalt not kill.
13‹‹Adam öldürmeyeceksin.
14Thou shalt not commit adultery.
14‹‹Zina etmeyeceksin.
15Thou shalt not steal.
15‹‹Çalmayacaksın.
16Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
16‹‹Komşuna karşı yalan yere tanıklık etmeyeceksin.
17Thou shalt not desire thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not desire thy neighbour's wife, nor his bondman, nor his handmaid, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbour's.
17‹‹Komşunun evine, karısına, erkek ve kadın kölesine, öküzüne, eşeğine, hiçbir şeyine göz dikmeyeceksin.››
18And all the people saw the thunderings, and the flames, and the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw [it], they trembled, and stood afar off,
18Halk gök gürlemelerini, boru sesini duyup şimşekleri ve dağın başındaki dumanı görünce korkudan titremeye başladı. Uzakta durarak
19and said to Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die.
19Musaya, ‹‹Bizimle sen konuş, dinleyelim›› dediler, ‹‹Ama Tanrı konuşmasın, yoksa ölürüz.››
20And Moses said to the people, Fear not; for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before you, that ye sin not.
20Musa, ‹‹Korkmayın!›› diye karşılık verdi, ‹‹Tanrı sizi denemek için geldi; Tanrı korkusu üzerinizde olsun, günah işlemeyesiniz diye.››
21And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near to the obscurity where God was.
21Musa Tanrının içinde bulunduğu koyu karanlığa yaklaşırken halk uzakta durdu.
22And Jehovah said to Moses, Thus shalt thou say to the children of Israel: Ye have seen that I have spoken with you from the heavens.
22RAB Musaya şöyle dedi: ‹‹İsraillilere de ki, ‹Göklerden sizinle konuştuğumu gördünüz.
23Ye shall not make beside me gods of silver, and ye shall not make to you gods of gold.
23Benim yanımsıra başka ilahlar yapmayacaksınız, altın ya da gümüş ilahlar dökmeyeceksiniz.
24An altar of earth shalt thou make unto me, and shalt sacrifice on it thy burnt-offerings, and thy peace-offerings, thy sheep and thine oxen: in all places where I shall make my name to be remembered, I will come unto thee, and bless thee.
24Benim için toprak bir sunak yapacaksınız. Yakmalık ve esenlik sunularınızı, davarlarınızı, sığırlarınızı onun üzerinde sunacaksınız. Adımı anımsattığım her yere gelip sizi kutsayacağım.
25And if thou make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone; for if thou lift up thy sharp tool upon it, thou hast profaned it.
25Eğer bana taş sunak yaparsanız, yontma taş kullanmayın. Çünkü kullanacağınız alet sunağın kutsallığını bozar.
26Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.
26Sunağımın üzerine basamakla çıkmayacaksınız. Çünkü çıplak yeriniz görünebilir.› ››
