¹CXar Kristo do suferis en la karno, vi ankaux armu vin per la sama intenco; cxar la suferinto en la karno apartigxis de pekoj;

¹Christ, then, having suffered for us in [the] flesh, do *ye* also arm yourselves with the same mind; for he that has suffered in [the] flesh has done with sin,

²por ke vi travivu la reston de la enkarna tempo jam ne laux la voluptoj de homoj, sed laux la volo de Dio.

²no longer to live the rest of [his] time in [the] flesh to men's lusts, but to God's will.

³CXar la tempo pasinta suficxas, por elfari la deziron de la nacianoj kaj iradi en dibocxoj, voluptoj, vindrinkado, brufestenoj, ebrieco, kaj abomenaj idolkultoj;

³For the time past [is] sufficient [for us] to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, walking in lasciviousness, lusts, wine-drinking, revels, drinkings, and unhallowed idolatries.

⁴en kio ili miras, ke vi ne kuras kune kun ili en la saman superfluon de dibocxado, kaj ili kalumnias vin;

⁴Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with [them] to the same sink of corruption, speaking injuriously [of you];

⁵ili prirespondos al Tiu, kiu estas preta jugxi la vivantojn kaj la mortintojn.

⁵who shall render account to him who is ready to judge [the] living and [the] dead.

⁶CXar por tio ankaux la evangelio estas anoncita al la mortintoj, por ke ili estu korpe jugxitaj laux homoj, sed spirite vivu laux Dio.

⁶For to this [end] were the glad tidings preached to [the] dead also, that they might be judged, as regards men, after [the] flesh, but live, as regards God, after [the] Spirit.

⁷Sed la fino de cxio alproksimigxas; prudentigxu do, kaj sobrigxu por pregxoj;

⁷But the end of all things is drawn nigh: be sober therefore, and be watchful unto prayers;

⁸antaux cxio havante fervoran amon unu al alia; cxar amo kovras amason da pekoj;

⁸but before all things having fervent love among yourselves, because love covers a multitude of sins;

⁹estu gastamaj unu al alia sen murmurado;

⁹hospitable one to another, without murmuring;

¹⁰lauxmezure, kiel cxiu ricevis donacon, tiel gxin administrante inter vi, kiel bonaj administrantoj de la diversaspeca graco de Dio;

¹⁰each according as he has received a gift, ministering it to one another, as good stewards of [the] various grace of God.

¹¹se iu parolas, li parolu kvazaux orakolojn de Dio; se iu administras, li administru kvazaux el la forto, kiun Dio provizas; por ke en cxio Dio estu glorata per Jesuo Kristo, kies estas la gloro kaj la potenco por cxiam kaj eterne. Amen.

¹¹If any one speak -- as oracles of God; if any one minister -- as of strength which God supplies; that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom is the glory and the might for the ages of ages. Amen.

¹²Amataj, ne surprizigxu pri la fajrego cxe vi okazanta por provi vin, kvazaux io stranga okazus cxe vi;

¹²Beloved, take not [as] strange the fire [of persecution] which has taken place amongst you for [your] trial, as if a strange thing was happening to you;

¹³sed laux tio, ke vi partoprenas en la suferoj de Kristo, gxoju; por ke ankaux en la elmontro de lia gloro vi gxoju ravege.

¹³but as ye have share in the sufferings of Christ, rejoice, that in the revelation of his glory also ye may rejoice with exultation.

¹⁴Se vi estas riprocxataj pro la nomo de Kristo, felicxegaj vi estas; cxar la Spirito de gloro kaj la Spirito de Dio restas sur vi.

¹⁴If ye are reproached in [the] name of Christ, blessed [are ye]; for the [Spirit] of glory and the Spirit of God rests upon you: [on their part he is blasphemed, but on your part he is glorified.]

¹⁵Nur neniu el vi suferu kiel mortiginto, aux sxtelisto, aux malbonfarinto, aux kiel sintrudanto en malpropraj aferoj;

¹⁵Let none of you suffer indeed as murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or as overseer of other people's matters;

¹⁶sed se iu suferas kiel Kristano, li ne hontu; sed li gloru Dion en tiu nomo.

¹⁶but if as a christian, let him not be ashamed, but glorify God in this name.

¹⁷CXar jam venis la tempo por la komenco de la jugxo cxe la domo de Dio; kaj se gxi komencigxas cxe ni, kia estos la sorto de tiuj, kiuj ne obeas al la evangelio de Dio?

¹⁷For the time of having the judgment begin from the house of God [is come]; but if first from us, what [shall be] the end of those who obey not the glad tidings of God?

¹⁸Kaj se justulo apenaux savigxas, kie aperos malpiulo kaj pekulo?

¹⁸And if the righteous is difficultly saved, where shall the impious and [the] sinner appear?

¹⁹Tial ankaux tiuj, kiuj suferas laux la volo de Dio, alkonfidu siajn animojn en bonfarado al fidela Kreinto.

¹⁹Wherefore also let them who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls in well-doing to a faithful Creator.
