1Mi konsilas do, antaux cxio, fari petegojn, pregxojn, propetadojn, dankojn por cxiuj;
1I exhort therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings be made for all men;
2por regxoj kaj cxiuj eminentuloj, por ke ni vivadu trankvile kaj kviete en plena pieco kaj seriozeco.
2for kings and all that are in dignity, that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in all piety and gravity;
3Tio estas bona kaj akceptebla antaux Dio, nia Savanto,
3for this is good and acceptable before our Saviour God,
4kiu volas, ke cxiuj homoj estu savitaj kaj venu al la scio de la vero.
4who desires that all men should be saved and come to [the] knowledge of [the] truth.
5CXar ekzistas unu Dio, kaj unu interulo inter Dio kaj homoj, homo, Kristo Jesuo,
5For God is one, and [the] mediator of God and men one, [the] man Christ Jesus,
6kiu sin donis kiel elacxetajxon por cxiuj, ateston elmontrotan en konvenaj tempoj;
6who gave himself a ransom for all, the testimony [to be rendered] in its own times;
7por kio mi estas nomita predikisto kaj apostolo (mi diras la veron, mi ne mensogas), instruisto por la nacianoj en fido kaj vero.
7to which *I* have been appointed a herald and apostle, (I speak [the] truth, I do not lie,) a teacher of [the] nations in faith and truth.
8Mi deziras do, ke la viroj pregxu en cxiu loko, levante sanktajn manojn, sen kolero kaj disputado.
8I will therefore that the men pray in every place, lifting up pious hands, without wrath or reasoning.
9Tiel same, ke virinoj sin vestu per decaj vestoj, kun modesteco kaj sobreco; ne kun harplektajxoj, aux oro, aux perloj, aux multekostaj vestoj;
9In like manner also that the women in decent deportment and dress adorn themselves with modesty and discretion, not with plaited [hair] and gold, or pearls, or costly clothing,
10sed (kio konvenas al virinoj konfesantaj la piecon) per bonfaroj.
10but, what becomes women making profession of the fear of God, by good works.
11Virino lernu en kvieteco kun cxia submetigxo.
11Let a woman learn in quietness in all subjection;
12Sed mi ne permesas al virino instruadi, nek regi super viro, sed esti en kvieteco.
12but I do not suffer a woman to teach nor to exercise authority over man, but to be in quietness;
13CXar Adam kreigxis la unua, poste Eva;
13for Adam was formed first, then Eve:
14kaj Adam ne trompigxis; sed la virino, trompite, falis en pekon;
14and Adam was not deceived; but the woman, having been deceived, was in transgression.
15sed sxi savigxos per la naskado, se ili dauxras en fido kaj amo kaj sanktigxo kun sobreco.
15But she shall be preserved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and love and holiness with discretion.
