¹And Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and Jehovah his God was with him and magnified him exceedingly.

²Kaj Salomono kunvokis la tutan Izraelon, la milestrojn kaj centestrojn, la jugxistojn, kaj cxiujn estrojn en la tuta Izrael, la cxefojn de la patrodomoj.

²And Solomon spoke to all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to all the princes of all Israel, the chief fathers;

³Kaj Salomono kune kun la tuta komunumo iris al la altajxo en Gibeon, cxar tie estis la tabernaklo de kunveno de Dio, tiu, kiun faris Moseo, servanto de la Eternulo, en la dezerto.

³and Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place at Gibeon; for there was God's tent of meeting which Moses the servant of Jehovah had made in the wilderness.

⁴Sed la keston de Dio David estis transportinta el Kirjat-Jearim sur tiun lokon, kiun David pretigis por gxi; cxar li arangxis por gxi tendon en Jerusalem.

⁴But the ark of God had David brought up from Kirjath-jearim to the [place] that David had prepared for it; for he had spread a tent for it at Jerusalem.

⁵La kupra altaro, kiun faris Becalel, filo de Uri, filo de HXur, estis tie, antaux la tabernaklo de la Eternulo; kaj Salomono kaj la komunumo gxin sercxis.

⁵And the brazen altar that Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made, was there before the tabernacle of Jehovah; and Solomon and the congregation sought unto it.

⁶Kaj Salomono supreniris tie antaux la Eternulo sur la kupran altaron, kiu estis antaux la tabernaklo de kunveno, kaj alportis sur gxi mil bruloferojn.

⁶And Solomon offered there upon the brazen altar before Jehovah which was at the tent of meeting; and he offered up a thousand burnt-offerings upon it.

⁷En tiu nokto Dio aperis al Salomono, kaj diris al li:Petu, kion Mi donu al vi.

⁷In that night God appeared to Solomon, and said to him, Ask what I shall give thee.

⁸Kaj Salomono diris al Dio:Vi estis tre favorkora al mia patro David, kaj Vi faris min regxo anstataux li;

⁸And Solomon said to God, Thou hast shewn unto David my father great loving-kindness, and hast made me king in his stead.

⁹nun, ho Dio Eternulo, plenumigxu do Via vorto al mia patro David. CXar Vi faris min regxo super popolo grandnombra kiel la polvo de la tero,

⁹Now, Jehovah Elohim, let thy word unto David my father be firm; for thou hast made me king over a people numerous as the dust of the earth.

¹⁰tial donu al mi nun sagxecon kaj sciadon, por ke mi povosciu eliradi kaj eniradi antaux tiu popolo; cxar kiu povas regi tiun Vian grandan popolon?

¹⁰Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this thy great people?

¹¹Tiam Dio diris al Salomono:Pro tio, ke cxi tio estis en via koro, kaj vi ne petis ricxecon, nek havajxojn, nek gloron, nek la animon de viaj malamikoj, kaj ecx longan vivon vi ne petis, sed vi petis por vi sagxecon kaj sciadon, por regi Mian popolon, super kiu Mi faris vin regxo:

¹¹And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thy heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of them that hate thee, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked for thyself wisdom and knowledge, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:

¹²pro tio sagxeco kaj sciado estas donataj al vi; sed ankaux ricxecon, havajxojn, kaj gloron Mi donos al vi en tia grado, kiun ne havis la regxoj antaux vi, kaj ankaux post vi oni tion ne havos.

¹²wisdom and knowledge are granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches and wealth and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall any after thee have the like.

¹³Kaj Salomono revenis de la altajxo en Gibeon, de la tabernaklo de kunveno, en Jerusalemon. Kaj li regxis super Izrael.

¹³Then Solomon came back [from] the high place at Gibeon to Jerusalem, from before the tent of meeting, and reigned over Israel.

¹⁴Kaj Salomono kolektis al si cxarojn kaj rajdistojn. Li havis mil kvarcent cxarojn kaj dek du mil rajdistojn; kaj li lokis ilin en la urboj de cxaroj kaj cxe la regxo en Jerusalem.

¹⁴And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen; and he had a thousand four hundred chariots and twelve thousand horsemen; and he placed them in the chariot-cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

¹⁵Kaj la regxo atingis tion, ke la argxento kaj oro estis en Jerusalem kiel sxtonoj, kaj la cedroj estis en tiel granda kvanto, kiel la sikomoroj sur la malaltaj lokoj.

¹⁵And the king made silver and gold in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he as the sycamores that are in the lowland for abundance.

¹⁶La cxevalojn al Salomono oni venigadis el Egiptujo; kaj societo de komercistoj de la regxo acxetadis ilin amase laux difinita prezo.

¹⁶And the exportation of horses that Solomon had was from Egypt: a caravan of the king's merchants fetched a drove [of horses], at a price.

¹⁷Ili liveradis el Egiptujo cxiun cxaron pro sescent sikloj da argxento, kaj cxiun cxevalon pro cent kvindek; tiel same ili estis liverataj per iliaj manoj al cxiuj regxoj de la HXetidoj kaj al la regxoj de Sirio.

¹⁷And they fetched up and brought forth out of Egypt a chariot for six hundred [shekels] of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty; and so they brought [them] by their means, for all the kings of the Hittites and for the kings of Syria.
