¹Jehosxafat, regxo de Judujo, revenis bonstate en sian hejmon, en Jerusalemon.

¹And Jehoshaphat king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem.

²Kaj eliris renkonte al li Jehu, filo de HXanani, la viziisto, kaj diris al la regxo Jehosxafat:CXu oni devas helpi al malvirtulo? vi amas la malamikojn de la Eternulo, kaj pro tio estas sur vi la kolero de la Eternulo.

²And Jehu the son of Hanani, the seer, went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate Jehovah? Therefore is wrath upon thee from Jehovah.

³Tamen bonajxoj estas trovitaj en vi, cxar vi ekstermis la sanktajn stangojn el la lando kaj direktis vian koron al la sercxado de Dio.

³Nevertheless there are good things found in thee; for thou hast put away the Asherahs out of the land, and hast directed thy heart to seek God.

⁴Kaj Jehosxafat logxis en Jerusalem. Kaj denove li iris al la popolo, de Beer-SXeba gxis la monto de Efraim, kaj revenigis ilin al la Eternulo, Dio de iliaj patroj.

⁴And Jehoshaphat dwelt in Jerusalem; and he went out again among the people from Beer-sheba to mount Ephraim, and brought them back to Jehovah the God of their fathers.

⁵Li starigis jugxistojn en la lando, en cxiuj fortikigitaj urboj de Judujo, en cxiu urbo aparte.

⁵And he set judges in the land throughout the fortified cities of Judah, city by city.

⁶Kaj li diris al la jugxistoj:Rigardu, kion vi faras, cxar ne por homo vi jugxas, sed por la Eternulo; Li estos kun vi en la aferoj de jugxado.

⁶And he said to the judges, Take heed what ye do; for ye judge not for man, but for Jehovah, who will be with you in the matter of judgment.

⁷Estu do en vi timo antaux la Eternulo, agadu singarde; cxar cxe la Eternulo, nia Dio, ne ekzistas maljusteco, nek personfavorado, nek akceptado de subacxetoj.

⁷And now, let the terror of Jehovah be upon you; be careful what ye do, for there is no iniquity with Jehovah, nor respect of persons, nor taking of presents.

⁸Ankaux en Jerusalem Jehosxafat starigis virojn el la Levidoj, pastroj, kaj cxefoj de patrodomoj de Izrael, por jugxado antaux la Eternulo kaj por jugxaj disputoj. Kaj ili revenis al Jerusalem.

⁸-- And moreover in Jerusalem did Jehoshaphat set some of the Levites and priests, and of the chief fathers of Israel, for the judgment of Jehovah and for causes. -- And they returned to Jerusalem.

⁹Kaj li ordonis al ili jene:Tiele agu en timo antaux la Eternulo, en fideleco kaj kun pura koro:

⁹And he charged them saying, Thus shall ye do in the fear of Jehovah faithfully and with a perfect heart.

¹⁰en cxiu jugxa disputo, kiu venos antaux vin de viaj fratoj, kiuj logxas en siaj urboj, cxu pri afero de sango, cxu pri religia preskribo, ordono, legxoj, aux decidoj, klarigu al ili, por ke ili ne kulpigxu antaux la Eternulo kaj por ke ne falu kolero sur vin kaj sur viajn fratojn; tiel agu, tiam vi ne farigxos kulpaj.

¹⁰And what cause soever comes to you of your brethren that dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and ordinances, ye shall even warn them that they trespass not against Jehovah, and so wrath come upon you and upon your brethren: this do and ye shall not trespass.

¹¹Kaj jen la cxefpastro Amarja estas super vi en cxiu afero koncernanta la Eternulon, kaj Zebadja, filo de Isxmael, la princo el la domo de Jehuda, en cxiu afero koncernanta la regxon, kaj la Levidojn vi havas antaux vi kiel oficistojn. Tenu vin forte kaj agadu, kaj la Eternulo estos kun la bonulo.

¹¹And behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of Jehovah, and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, prince of the house of Judah, in all the king's matters; and ye have the Levites before you as officers. Be strong and do it, and Jehovah will be with the good.
