1Now Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. And Jehu wrote letters, and sent to Samaria, to the princes of Jizreel, to the elders, and to Ahab's guardians, saying,
2Kiam cxi tiu letero venos al vi, cxe kiuj trovigxas la filoj de via sinjoro kaj sub kies administrado trovigxas la cxaroj kaj la cxevaloj kaj la fortikigita urbo kaj la bataliloj:
2And now, when this letter comes to you, seeing your master's sons are with you, and there are with you chariots, and horses, and a fortified city, and armour,
3tiam rigardu, kiu estas la plej bona kaj plej digna el la filoj de via sinjoro, kaj sidigu lin sur la trono de lia patro kaj batalu pro la domo de via sinjoro.
3look out the best and worthiest of your master's sons, and set him on his father's throne, and fight for your master's house.
4Sed ili tre forte ektimis, kaj diris:Jen la du regxoj ne povis kontrauxstari al li, kiel do ni kontrauxstaros?
4And they were exceedingly afraid, and said, Behold, the two kings stood not before him; and how shall we stand?
5Kaj la palacestro kaj la urbestro kaj la plejagxuloj kaj la filedukistoj sendis al Jehu, por diri:Ni estas viaj servantoj, kaj cxion, kion vi ordonos al ni, ni faros; ni neniun faros regxo; kio placxas al vi, tion faru.
5And he that was over the house, and he that was over the city, and the elders, and the guardians sent to Jehu, saying, We are thy servants, and will do all that thou shalt bid us; we will not make any one king; do what is good in thy sight.
6Tiam li skribis al ili duan leteron kun jena enhavo:Se vi estas sur mia flanko kaj obeas mian vocxon, tiam prenu la kapojn de la filoj de via sinjoro kaj venu al mi morgaux en cxi tiu tempo en Jizreelon. Kaj da regxidoj estis sepdek homoj cxe la eminentuloj de la urbo, kiuj edukis ilin.
6And he wrote a letter the second time to them saying, If ye are mine, and will hearken to my voice, take the heads of the men your master's sons, and come to me to Jizreel to-morrow at this time. Now the king's sons, seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, who brought them up.
7Kiam la letero venis al ili, ili prenis la filojn de la regxo kaj bucxis ilin, sepdek homojn, kaj metis iliajn kapojn en korbojn kaj sendis al li en Jizreelon.
7And it came to pass when the letter came to them, that they took the king's sons, and slaughtered seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent them to him to Jizreel.
8Kaj venis la sendito, kaj diris al li jene:Oni alportis la kapojn de la regxidoj. Kaj li diris:Kusxigu ilin en du amasoj antaux la enirejo de la pordego gxis mateno.
8And a messenger came and told him saying, They have brought the heads of the king's sons. And he said, Lay them in two heaps at the entrance of the gate until the morning.
9Matene li eliris kaj starigxis, kaj diris al la tuta popolo:Vi estas senkulpaj; estas mi, kiu faris konspiron kontraux mia sinjoro kaj mortigis lin; sed kiu mortigis cxiujn cxi tiujn?
9And it came to pass in the morning that he went out; and he stood, and said to all the people, Ye are righteous! behold, I conspired against my master and killed him; but who smote all these?
10Sciu do nun, ke el la vortoj de la Eternulo nenio falis teren, el tio, kion la Eternulo diris pri la domo de Ahxab; la Eternulo faris tion, kion Li diris per Sia servanto Elija.
10Know now that nothing shall fall to the earth of the word of Jehovah, which Jehovah spoke concerning the house of Ahab; for Jehovah has done that which he said through his servant Elijah.
11Kaj Jehu mortigis cxiujn restintojn el la domo de Ahxab en Jizreel kaj cxiujn liajn altrangulojn kaj liajn konatojn kaj liajn pastrojn, gxis restis neniu savigxinto.
11And Jehu slew all that remained of the house of Ahab in Jizreel, and all his great men, and his acquaintances, and his priests, until he left him none remaining.
12Kaj li levigxis, kaj iris kaj direktis sin al Samario. Kiam li estis survoje cxe la domo de la pasxtistoj,
12And he rose up and departed, and came to Samaria. And as he was at the shepherds' meeting-place on the way,
13Jehu renkontis la fratojn de Ahxazja, regxo de Judujo, kaj li diris:Kiuj vi estas? Ili respondis:Ni estas fratoj de Ahxazja, kaj ni iras, por demandi pri la farto de la filoj de la regxo kaj de la filoj de la regxino.
13Jehu found the brethren of Ahaziah king of Judah, and said, Who are ye? And they said, We are the brethren of Ahaziah; and have come down to salute the children of the king, and the children of the queen.
14Tiam li diris:Prenu ilin vivantajn. Kaj oni prenis ilin vivantajn kaj bucxis ilin super la puto cxe la domo de pasxtistoj, kvardek du homojn, kaj neniu el ili restis.
14And he said, Take them alive! And they took them alive, and slew them at the well of the meeting-place, forty-two men; and he left not one of them remaining.
15De tie li foriris, kaj li renkontis Jehonadabon, filon de Rehxab, irantan renkonte al li. Li salutis lin, kaj diris al li:CXu via koro estas favora, kiel mia koro estas favora al via koro? Jehonadab respondis:Jes. Se jes, tiam donu al mi vian manon. Kaj li donis al li sian manon kaj prenis lin al si sur la cxaron.
15And he departed thence, and found Jehonadab the son of Rechab [coming] to meet him; and he greeted him, and said to him, Is thy heart right, as my heart is with thy heart? And Jehonadab said, It is. -- If it be, give [me] thy hand. -- And he gave [him] his hand; and [Jehu] took him up to him into the chariot,
16Kaj li diris:Iru kun mi kaj rigardu mian fervoron pri la Eternulo. Kaj oni veturigis lin kun li sur lia cxaro.
16and said, Come with me, and see my zeal for Jehovah. So they made him ride in his chariot.
17Kiam li venis Samarion, li mortigis cxiujn, kiuj restis de Ahxab en Samario, gxis li tute ekstermis lin, konforme al la vorto de la Eternulo, kiun Li diris al Elija.
17And he came to Samaria, and smote all that remained to Ahab in Samaria, until he had destroyed him, according to the word of Jehovah which he spoke to Elijah.
18Kaj Jehu kunvenigis la tutan popolon, kaj diris al ili:Ahxab servis al Baal malmulte, Jehu servos al li multe;
18And Jehu gathered all the people together, and said to them, Ahab served Baal a little: Jehu will serve him much.
19kunvoku do al mi cxiujn profetojn de Baal, cxiujn liajn servantojn, kaj cxiujn liajn pastrojn, ke neniu forestu; cxar mi volas fari grandan oferadon al Baal; cxiu, kiu forestos, perdos sian vivon. Jehu faris tion kun ruza intenco, por pereigi la servantojn de Baal.
19And now call me all the prophets of Baal, all his servants, and all his priests: let none be wanting; for I have a great sacrifice [to do] to Baal; whoever shall be wanting shall not live. But Jehu did it in subtilty, in order that he might bring destruction upon the servants of Baal.
20Kaj Jehu diris:Arangxu sanktan kunvenon por Baal. Kaj oni tion proklamis.
20And Jehu said, Hallow a solemn assembly for Baal. And they proclaimed [it].
21Kaj Jehu sendis al la tuta Izrael; kaj venis cxiuj servantoj de Baal; restis neniu, kiu ne venus. Ili eniris en la domon de Baal, kaj la domo de Baal plenigxis de rando gxis rando.
21And Jehu sent into all Israel; and all the servants of Baal came, so that there was not a man left that came not: and they entered into the house of Baal; and the house of Baal was full from one end to the other.
22Kaj li diris al la estro de la vestejo:Elportu vestojn por cxiuj servantoj de Baal. Kaj li elportis vestojn por ili.
22And he said to him that was over the wardrobe, Bring forth vestments for all the servants of Baal. And he brought them forth vestments.
23Kaj Jehu kun Jehonadab, filo de Rehxab, eniris en la domon de Baal, kaj li diris al la servantoj de Baal:Esploru kaj rigardu, cxu ne estas cxi tie kun vi iu el la servantoj de la Eternulo, cxar cxi tie devas esti sole nur servantoj de Baal.
23And Jehu and Jehonadab the son of Rechab entered into the house of Baal, and said to the servants of Baal, Search, and see that there be here with you none of the servants of Jehovah, but the servants of Baal only.
24Ili eniris, por fari bucxoferojn kaj bruloferojn. Dume Jehu starigis ekstere okdek virojn, kaj diris:Se cxe iu el vi savigxos iu el la homoj, kiujn mi transdonas en viajn manojn, tiam lia animo anstatauxos la animon de tiu.
24And they entered in to offer sacrifices and burnt-offerings. Now Jehu appointed eighty men without, and said, He that allows any of the men to escape that I have brought into your hands, his life shall be for the life of him.
25Kiam la bruloferoj estis finitaj, Jehu diris al la korpogardistoj kaj al la estroj:Iru, batu ilin, ke neniu eliru. Kaj oni mortigis ilin per glavo, kaj la korpogardistoj kaj la estroj forjxetis ilin kaj iris en la urbon de la domo de Baal.
25And it came to pass as soon as they had ended offering up the burnt-offering, that Jehu said to the couriers and to the captains, Go in, slay them; let none come forth. And they smote them with the edge of the sword; and the couriers and the captains cast [them] there. And they went to the city of the house of Baal,
26Kaj oni elportis la statuojn el la domo de Baal kaj forbruligis ilin.
26and brought forth the columns out of the house of Baal, and burned them;
27Kaj oni disrompis la statuon de Baal, kaj oni detruis la domon de Baal, kaj oni faris el gxi ekskrementejon gxis la nuna tempo.
27and they broke down the column of Baal, and broke down the house of Baal, and made it a draught-house to this day.
28Kaj Jehu ekstermis Baalon el Izrael.
28Thus Jehu extirpated Baal out of Israel.
29Tamen de la pekoj de Jerobeam, filo de Nebat, per kiuj li pekigis Izraelon, Jehu ne deturnis sin, de la oraj bovidoj, kiuj estis en Bet-El kaj en Dan.
29Only, the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, from them Jehu departed not: [from] the golden calves that were in Bethel, and that were in Dan.
30Kaj la Eternulo diris al Jehu:Pro tio, ke vi bone faris tion, kio placxis al Mi, kaj vi faris al la domo de Ahxab konforme al tio, kio estis en Mia koro, viaj filoj gxis la kvara generacio sidos sur la trono de Izrael.
30And Jehovah said to Jehu, Because thou hast executed well that which is right in my sight, [and] hast done unto the house of Ahab according to all that was in my heart, thy children of the fourth [generation] shall sit on the throne of Israel.
31Sed Jehu ne zorgis pri tio, ke li iradu laux la instruo de la Eternulo, Dio de Izrael, per sia tuta koro. Li ne deturnis sin de la pekoj de Jerobeam, per kiuj li pekigis Izraelon.
31But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of Jehovah the God of Israel with all his heart; he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, who made Israel to sin.
32En tiu tempo la Eternulo komencis faradi dehakojn en Izrael, kaj HXazael venkobatis ilin cxe cxiuj limoj de Izrael:
32In those days Jehovah began to cut Israel short; and Hazael smote them in all the borders of Israel;
33oriente de Jordan la tutan landon de Gilead, de la Gadidoj, Rubenidoj, kaj Manaseidoj, komencante de Aroer, kiu estas cxe la torento Arnon, Gileadon kaj Basxanon.
33from the Jordan eastward, all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and the Manassites, from Aroer, which is by the river Arnon, both Gilead and Bashan.
34La cetera historio de Jehu, kaj cxio, kion li faris, kaj lia tuta potenco estas priskribitaj en la libro de kroniko de la regxoj de Izrael.
34And the rest of the acts of Jehu, and all that he did, and all his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
35Kaj Jehu ekdormis kun siaj patroj, kaj oni enterigis lin en Samario. Kaj anstataux li ekregxis lia filo Jehoahxaz.
35And Jehu slept with his fathers, and they buried him in Samaria: and Jehoahaz his son reigned in his stead.
36La tempo de regxado de Jehu super Izrael en Samario estis dudek ok jaroj.
36Now the time that Jehu reigned over Israel in Samaria was twenty-eight years.
