¹And when the day of Pentecost was now accomplishing, they were all together in one place.

²And there came suddenly a sound out of heaven as of a violent impetuous blowing, and filled all the house where they were sitting.

³And there appeared to them parted tongues, as of fire, and it sat upon each one of them.

⁴Kaj cxiuj plenigxis de la Sankta Spirito, kaj komencis paroli aliajn lingvojn, kiel la Spirito donis al ili parolpovon.

⁴And they were all filled with [the] Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave to them to speak forth.

⁵Now there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, pious men, from every nation of those under heaven.

⁶Kaj kiam auxdigxis tiu sono, la homamaso kunvenis kaj miregis, cxar cxiu aparte auxdis ilin paroli per lia propra dialekto.

⁶But the rumour of this having spread, the multitude came together and were confounded, because each one heard them speaking in his own dialect.

⁷Kaj cxiuj konfuzigxis kaj miris, dirante unu al alia:Rigardu! cxu ne estas Galileanoj cxiuj tiuj parolantoj?

⁷And all were amazed and wondered, saying, Behold, are not all these who are speaking Galilaeans?

⁸Kiel do ni auxdas cxiu en sia dialekto, en kiu ni naskigxis?

⁸and how do *we* hear [them] each in our own dialect in which we have been born,

⁹Partoj kaj Medoj kaj Elamanoj, kaj logxantoj en Mezopotamio, Judujo, Kapadokio, Ponto kaj Azio,

⁹Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and those who inhabit Mesopotamia, and Judaea, and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,

¹⁰Frigio kaj Pamfilio, Egiptujo kaj la partoj de Libio apud Kireno, kaj paslogxantaj Romanoj, Judoj kaj prozelitoj,

¹⁰both Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt, and the parts of Libya which adjoin Cyrene, and the Romans sojourning [here], both Jews and proselytes,

¹¹Kretanoj kaj Araboj-ni auxdas ilin paroli en niaj lingvoj la mirindajxojn de Dio.

¹¹Cretans and Arabians, we hear them speaking in our own tongues the great things of God?

¹²Kaj cxiuj konfuzigxis kaj embarasigxis, dirante unu al alia:Kion cxi tio signifas?

¹²And they were all amazed and in perplexity, saying one to another, What would this mean?

¹³Sed aliaj moke diris:Ili estas plenaj de mosto.

¹³But others mocking said, They are full of new wine.

¹⁴Sed Petro, starigxinte kun la dek unu, levis sian vocxon kaj parolis al ili, dirante:Ho Judoj kaj cxiuj logxantaj en Jerusalem, cxi tio estu al vi sciata, kaj auxskultu miajn vortojn.

¹⁴But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice and spoke forth to them, Men of Judaea, and all ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give heed to my words:

¹⁵CXar cxi tiuj ne estas ebriaj, kiel vi supozas, cxar estas la tria horo de la tago;

¹⁵for these are not full of wine, as *ye* suppose, for it is the third hour of the day;

¹⁶sed jen tio, kio estis dirita per la profeto Joel:

¹⁶but this is that which was spoken through the prophet Joel,

¹⁷Kaj en la lasta tempo, diras Dio, Mi elversxos Mian spiriton sur cxiun karnon; Kaj viaj filoj kaj viaj filinoj profetos, Kaj viaj junuloj havos viziojn, Kaj viaj maljunuloj havos songxojn;

¹⁷And it shall be in the last days, saith God, [that] I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your elders shall dream with dreams;

¹⁸Kaj ecx sur Miajn sklavojn kaj Miajn sklavinojn en tiu tempo Mi elversxos Mian spiriton, Kaj ili profetos.

¹⁸yea, even upon my bondmen and upon my bondwomen in those days will I pour out of my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.

¹⁹Kaj Mi donos miraklojn en la cxielo supre, Kaj signojn sur la tero malsupre: Sangon, fajron, kaj vaporon de fumo;

¹⁹And I will give wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below, blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

²⁰La suno farigxos malluma, Kaj la luno farigxos sanga, Antaux ol venos la granda kaj majesta tago de la Eternulo;

²⁰the sun shall be changed to darkness and the moon to blood, before the great and gloriously appearing day of [the] Lord come.

²¹Kaj cxiu, kiu vokos la nomon de la Eternulo, savigxos.

²¹And it shall be that whosoever shall call upon the name of [the] Lord shall be saved.

²²Izraelidoj, auxskultu la jenajn vortojn:Jesuon, la Nazaretanon, viron de Dio, elmontritan al vi per potencajxoj kaj mirakloj kaj signoj, kiujn Dio faris per li meze de vi, kiel vi mem scias,

²²Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus the Nazaraean, a man borne witness to by God to you by works of power and wonders and signs, which God wrought by him in your midst, as yourselves know

²³-- him, given up by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye, by [the] hand of lawless [men], have crucified and slain.

²⁴Whom God has raised up, having loosed the pains of death, inasmuch as it was not possible that he should be held by its power;

²⁵CXar David diris pri li: CXiam mi vidis la Eternulon antaux mi, CXar Li estas cxe mia dekstra mano, por ke mi ne falu;

²⁵for David says as to him, I foresaw the Lord continually before me, because he is at my right hand that I may not be moved.

²⁶Tial gxojis mia koro, ravigxis mia lango, Ecx mia karno ripozas en espero;

²⁶Therefore has my heart rejoiced and my tongue exulted; yea more, my flesh also shall dwell in hope,

²⁷CXar Vi ne lasos mian animon al SXeol, Vi ne permesos, ke Via sanktulo forputru.

²⁷for thou wilt not leave my soul in hades, nor wilt thou give thy gracious one to see corruption.

²⁸Vi konigis al mi la vojojn de la vivo, Vi plenigos min per gxojo antaux Vi.

²⁸Thou hast made known to me [the] paths of life, thou wilt fill me with joy with thy countenance.

²⁹Fratoj, mi povas libere paroli al vi pri la patriarko David, ke li mortis kaj estis enterigita, kaj lia tombo estas cxe ni gxis la nuna tago.

²⁹Brethren, let it be allowed to speak with freedom to you concerning the patriarch David, that he has both died and been buried, and his monument is amongst us unto this day.

³⁰Estante do profeto, kaj sciante, ke Dio jxuris al li per jxuro, sidigi sur lia trono iun el la frukto de liaj lumboj,

³⁰Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn to him with an oath, of the fruit of his loins to set upon his throne;

³¹li, antauxvidante, parolis pri la relevo de la Kristo, ke li ne estos lasita al SXeol, kaj lia karno ne forputros.

³¹he, seeing [it] before, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that neither has he been left in hades nor his flesh seen corruption.

³²CXi tiun Jesuon relevis Dio, pri kio ni cxiuj estas atestantoj.

³²This Jesus has God raised up, whereof all *we* are witnesses.

³³Levite do gxis dekstre de Dio, kaj ricevinte de la Patro la promeson de la Sankta Spirito, li elversxis tion, kion vi vidas kaj auxdas.

³³Having therefore been exalted by the right hand of God, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this which *ye* behold and hear.

³⁴CXar David ne supreniris en la cxielojn; sed li mem diris: La Eternulo diris al mia Sinjoro:Sidu dekstre de Mi,

³⁴For David has not ascended into the heavens, but he says himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit at my right hand

³⁵GXis Mi faros viajn malamikojn benketo por viaj piedoj.

³⁵until I have put thine enemies [to be] the footstool of thy feet.

³⁶Kun certeco do sciu la tuta domo de Izrael, ke tiun Jesuon, kiun vi krucumis, Dio faris Sinjoro kaj Kristo.

³⁶Let the whole house of Israel therefore know assuredly that God has made him, this Jesus whom *ye* have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

³⁷Kaj auxdinte tion, ili estis pikitaj en la koro, kaj diris al Petro kaj la aliaj apostoloj:Kion ni faru, fratoj?

³⁷And having heard [it] they were pricked in heart, and said to Peter and the other apostles, What shall we do, brethren?

³⁸Kaj Petro diris al ili:Ekpentu, kaj baptigxu cxiu el vi en la nomo de Jesuo Kristo por forigo de pekoj, kaj vi ricevos la donacon de la Sankta Spirito.

³⁸And Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptised, each one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for remission of sins, and ye will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

³⁹CXar la promeso estas por vi kaj por viaj infanoj, kaj por cxiuj gxis malproksime, kiujn alvokos la Eternulo, nia Dio.

³⁹For to you is the promise and to your children, and to all who [are] afar off, as many as [the] Lord our God may call.

⁴⁰Kaj per multaj aliaj paroloj li atestis kaj alvokis ilin, dirante:Savu vin el cxi tiu perversa generacio.

⁴⁰And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, Be saved from this perverse generation.

⁴¹Tiuj do, kiuj akceptis lian parolon, baptigxis, kaj en tiu tago aldonigxis cxirkaux tri mil animoj.

⁴¹Those then who had accepted his word were baptised; and there were added in that day about three thousand souls.

⁴²Kaj ili persistis en la instruo de la apostoloj kaj en la kunuleco, en la dispecigo de pano kaj en pregxoj.

⁴²And they persevered in the teaching and fellowship of the apostles, in breaking of bread and prayers.

⁴³Kaj cxiu animo havis timon, kaj multaj mirakloj kaj signoj farigxis per la apostoloj.

⁴³And fear was upon every soul, and many wonders and signs took place through the apostles' means.

⁴⁴Kaj cxiuj kredantoj estis kune, kaj havis cxion komuna;

⁴⁴And all that believed were together, and had all things common,

⁴⁵kaj ili vendis siajn havojn kaj posedajxojn, kaj dividis ilin al cxiuj laux cxies aparta bezono.

⁴⁵and sold their possessions and substance, and distributed them to all, according as any one might have need.

⁴⁶Kaj cxiutage, vizitadante unuanime la templon, kaj dispecigante panon dome, ili prenis sian nutrajxon kun gxojo kaj unueco de koro,

⁴⁶And every day, being constantly in the temple with one accord, and breaking bread in [the] house, they received their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,

⁴⁷lauxdante Dion kaj havante favoron cxe la tuta popolo. Kaj la Sinjoro aldonis cxiutage al la eklezio la savatojn.

⁴⁷praising God, and having favour with all the people; and the Lord added [to the assembly] daily those that were to be saved.
