¹Tio estas la vortoj de la interligo, kiun la Eternulo ordonis al Moseo fari kun la Izraelidoj en la lando de Moab, krom la interligo, kiun Li faris kun ili sur HXoreb.

¹These are the words of the covenant that Jehovah commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, besides the covenant that he made with them in Horeb.

²Kaj Moseo vokis al cxiuj Izraelidoj, kaj diris al ili:Vi vidis cxion, kion faris la Eternulo antaux viaj okuloj en la lando Egipta al Faraono kaj al cxiuj liaj servantoj kaj al lia tuta lando,

²And Moses called to all Israel, and said unto them, Ye have seen all that Jehovah did before your eyes in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his bondmen, and to all his land:

³tiujn grandajn provojn, kiujn vidis viaj okuloj, tiujn grandajn signojn kaj miraklojn.

³the great trials that thine eyes have seen, those great signs and wonders.

⁴Sed la Eternulo ne donis al vi koron, por kompreni, nek okulojn, por vidi, nek orelojn, por auxdi, gxis la nuna tago.

⁴But Jehovah hath not given you a heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, to this day.

⁵Kaj mi kondukis vin dum kvardek jaroj en la dezerto; ne sentauxgigxis viaj vestoj sur vi, kaj viaj sxuoj ne sentauxgigxis sur via piedo.

⁵And I have led you forty years in the wilderness; your clothes are not grown old upon you, and thy sandal is not grown old upon thy foot;

⁶Panon vi ne mangxis, kaj vinon kaj ebriigajxojn vi ne trinkis; por ke vi sciu, ke Mi, la Eternulo, estas via Dio.

⁶ye have not eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink, that ye might know that I am Jehovah your God.

⁷Kaj vi venis al cxi tiu loko; kaj eliris Sihxon, regxo de HXesxbon, kaj Og, regxo de Basxan, kontraux nin milite, kaj ni venkobatis ilin;

⁷And ye came to this place; and Sihon the king of Heshbon and Og the king of Bashan came out against us for battle, and we smote them.

⁸kaj ni prenis ilian landon, kaj ni donis gxin kiel posedajxon al la Rubenidoj kaj al la Gadidoj kaj al duono de la tribo de Manase.

⁸And we took their land, and gave it for an inheritance to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half tribe of the Manassites.

⁹Observu do la vortojn de cxi tiu interligo kaj plenumu ilin, por ke vi sukcesu en cxio, kion vi faros.

⁹Ye shall keep then the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.

¹⁰Vi cxiuj staras hodiaux antaux la Eternulo, via Dio; viaj estroj, viaj triboj, viaj plejagxuloj, kaj viaj oficistoj, cxiuj Izraelidoj;

¹⁰Ye stand this day all of you before Jehovah your God: your chiefs [of] your tribes, your elders, and your officers, all the men of Israel,

¹¹viaj infanoj, viaj edzinoj, kaj via fremdulo, kiu estas en via tendaro, de la hakanto de via ligno gxis la cxerpanto de via akvo;

¹¹your little ones, your wives, and thy stranger that is in thy camp, as well the hewer of thy wood as the drawer of thy water;

¹²por ke vi transiru en la interligon de la Eternulo, via Dio, kaj en Lian jxuran interkonsenton, kiun la Eternulo, via Dio, faras kun vi hodiaux,

¹²that thou mayest enter into the covenant of Jehovah thy God, and into his oath, which Jehovah thy God maketh with thee this day;

¹³por ke Li starigu vin hodiaux kiel Sian popolon, kaj Li estu al vi Dio, kiel Li diris al vi, kaj kiel Li jxuris al viaj patroj, al Abraham, al Isaak, kaj al Jakob.

¹³that he may establish thee this day for a people unto himself, and [that] he may be to thee a God, as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

¹⁴Kaj ne kun vi solaj mi faras cxi tiun interligon kaj cxi tiun jxuran interkonsenton,

¹⁴Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath,

¹⁵sed kun tiuj, kiuj staras hodiaux cxi tie antaux la Eternulo, nia Dio, kaj kun tiuj, kiuj ne estas hodiaux cxi tie kun ni.

¹⁵but with him that standeth here with us this day before Jehovah our God, and with him that is not here with us this day

¹⁶CXar vi scias, kiel ni logxis en la lando Egipta, kaj kiel ni trairis meze de la popoloj, tra kiuj vi trairis;

¹⁶(for ye know how we dwelt in the land of Egypt, and how we came through the nations which ye passed;

¹⁷kaj vi vidis iliajn abomenajxojn, kaj iliajn idolojn el ligno kaj el sxtono, el argxento kaj el oro, kiujn ili havas.

¹⁷and ye have seen their abominations, and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which were among them);

¹⁸Eble trovigxas inter vi viro aux virino aux familio aux tribo, kies koro deturnigxas hodiaux de la Eternulo, nia Dio, por iri servi al la dioj de tiuj popoloj; eble trovigxas inter vi radiko, kiu kreskigas maldolcxajxon kaj absinton;

¹⁸lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from Jehovah our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood,

¹⁹kaj kiam li auxdos la vortojn de cxi tiu malbeno, li benos sin en sia koro, dirante:Paco estos al mi, malgraux tio, ke mi iros laux la deziroj de mia koro; kaj pereos la trinkintoj kune kun la soifantoj.

¹⁹and it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart, to sweep away the drunken with the thirsty.

²⁰La Eternulo ne volos pardoni lin, sed tiam ekflamos la kolero de la Eternulo kaj Lia severo kontraux tiu homo, kaj falos sur lin la tuta malbeno, kiu estas skribita en cxi tiu libro, kaj la Eternulo ekstermos lian nomon el sub la cxielo;

²⁰Jehovah will not pardon him, but the anger of Jehovah and his jealousy will then smoke against that man, and all the curse shall be upon him that is written in this book; and Jehovah will blot out his name from under the heavens;

²¹kaj la Eternulo apartigos lin por pereo el cxiuj triboj de Izrael, konforme al cxiuj malbenoj de la interligo, kiu estas skribita en cxi tiu libro de instruo.

²¹and Jehovah will separate him for mischief out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that is written in this book of the law.

²²Kaj diros la venonta generacio, viaj infanoj, kiuj aperos post vi, kaj la alilandulo, kiu venos el malproksima lando kaj vidos la plagojn de cxi tiu lando kaj gxiajn malsanojn, per kiuj la Eternulo gxin frapos-

²²And the generation to come, your children who shall rise up after you, and the foreigner that shall come from a far land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and its sicknesses wherewith Jehovah hath visited it,

²³sulfuro kaj salo, bruligitajxo estas la tuta lando; gxi ne estas prisemata kaj ne naskas, kaj nenia herbo tie elkreskas, simile al la ruinoj de Sodom kaj Gomora, Adma kaj Ceboim, kiujn la Eternulo ruinigis en Sia kolero kaj en Sia furiozo-

²³[that] the whole ground thereof is brimstone and salt, [and] burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, and no grass groweth in it, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboim, which Jehovah overthrew in his anger and in his fury:

²⁴cxiuj popoloj diros:Pro kio la Eternulo tiel agis kun cxi tiu lando? pro kio estis tiu granda flamo de kolero?

²⁴even all nations shall say, Why has Jehovah done thus to this land? whence the heat of this great anger?

²⁵Kaj oni respondos:Pro tio, ke ili forlasis la interligon de la Eternulo, la Dio de iliaj patroj, kiun Li faris kun ili, kiam Li elkondukis ilin el la lando Egipta,

²⁵And men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of Jehovah the God of their fathers, which he had made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt;

²⁶kaj ili iris kaj servis al aliaj dioj kaj adorklinigxis al ili, al dioj, kiujn ili ne konis kaj kiujn Li ne destinis por ili:

²⁶and they went and served other gods, and bowed down to them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not assigned to them.

²⁷pro tio ekflamis la kolero de la Eternulo kontraux tiu lando, kaj Li venigis sur gxin cxiujn malbenojn, kiuj estas skribitaj en cxi tiu libro;

²⁷And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curse that is written in this book;

²⁸kaj la Eternulo eljxetis ilin el ilia lando en kolero kaj en furiozo kaj en granda indigno, kaj Li jxetis ilin en landon alian, kiel ni vidas nun.

²⁸and Jehovah rooted them out of their land in anger, and in fury, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as [it appears] this day.

²⁹La kasxitajxo apartenas al la Eternulo, nia Dio; kaj la nekasxitajxo al ni kaj al niaj gefiloj eterne, por ke ni plenumu cxiujn vortojn de cxi tiu instruo.

²⁹The hidden things belong to Jehovah our God; but the revealed ones are ours and our children's for ever, to do all the words of this law.
