¹Infanoj, obeu al viaj gepatroj en la Sinjoro, cxar tio decas.

¹Children, obey your parents in [the] Lord, for this is just.

²Respektu vian patron kaj vian patrinon (gxi estas la unua ordono kun promeso),

²Honour thy father and thy mother, which is the first commandment with a promise,

³por ke estu al vi bone kaj por ke longe dauxru via vivo sur la tero.

³that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest be long-lived on the earth.

⁴Kaj patroj, ne kolerigu viajn infanojn; sed nutradu ilin en la disciplino kaj admono de la Sinjoro.

⁴And [ye] fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in [the] discipline and admonition of [the] Lord.

⁵Sklavoj, obeu al tiuj, kiuj laux la karno estas viaj sinjoroj, kun timo kaj tremo, en simpleco de via koro, kiel al Kristo;

⁵Bondmen, obey masters according to flesh, with fear and trembling, in simplicity of your heart as to the Christ;

⁶ne laux okulservo, kiel homplacxantoj, sed kiel sklavoj de Kristo, plenumante el la koro la volon de Dio;

⁶not with eye-service as men-pleasers; but as bondmen of Christ, doing the will of God from [the] soul,

⁷kun bonvoleco servante, kiel al la Sinjoro, kaj ne al homoj;

⁷serving with good will as to the Lord, and not to men;

⁸sciante, ke, kian ajn bonon faras cxiu, cxu sklavo aux liberulo, tion saman li ricevos de la Sinjoro.

⁸knowing that whatever good each shall do, this he shall receive of [the] Lord, whether bond or free.

⁹Kaj sinjoroj, agu tiel same al ili, forlasante minacon; sciante, ke via kaj ilia Sinjoro estas en la cxielo, kaj ne ekzistas cxe li personfavorado.

⁹And, masters, do the same things towards them, giving up threatening, knowing that both their and your Master is in heaven, and there is no acceptance of persons with him.

¹⁰Cetere, fortigxu en la Sinjoro kaj en la forteco de lia potenco.

¹⁰For the rest, brethren, be strong in [the] Lord, and in the might of his strength.

¹¹Surmetu la tutan armilaron de Dio, por ke vi povu kontrauxstari al la artifikoj de la diablo.

¹¹Put on the panoply of God, that ye may be able to stand against the artifices of the devil:

¹²CXar nia luktado estas ne kontraux sango kaj karno, sed kontraux regantoj, kontraux auxtoritatoj, kontraux mondpotenculoj de la nuna mallumo, kontraux la spiritaroj de malbono en la cxielejoj.

¹²because our struggle is not against blood and flesh, but against principalities, against authorities, against the universal lords of this darkness, against spiritual [power] of wickedness in the heavenlies.

¹³Tial prenu al vi la tutan armilaron de Dio, por ke vi povu rezisti en la malbona tago, kaj, farinte cxion, stari.

¹³For this reason take [to you] the panoply of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having accomplished all things, to stand.

¹⁴Staru do, cxirkauxzoninte la lumbojn per vero, kaj surmetinte la kirason de justeco,

¹⁴Stand therefore, having girt about your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

¹⁵kaj ensxuiginte la piedojn per la pretigxo de la evangelio de paco;

¹⁵and shod your feet with [the] preparation of the glad tidings of peace:

¹⁶super cxio tenante la sxildon de fido, per kiu vi povos estingi cxiujn fajrajn sagojn de la malbonulo.

¹⁶besides all [these], having taken the shield of faith with which ye will be able to quench all the inflamed darts of the wicked one.

¹⁷Kaj ricevu la kaskon de savo, kaj la glavon de la Spirito, kiu estas la vorto de Dio;

¹⁷Have also the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is God's word;

¹⁸per cxia pregxado kaj petegado en cxiu tempo pregxante en la Spirito, kaj viglante por tio en cxia persisteco kaj petego por cxiuj sanktuloj,

¹⁸praying at all seasons, with all prayer and supplication in [the] Spirit, and watching unto this very thing with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints;

¹⁹kaj por mi, ke al mi estu donita parolpovo kun malfermo de mia busxo, por ke mi sciigu kuragxe la misteron de la evangelio,

¹⁹and for me in order that utterance may be given to me in [the] opening of my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the glad tidings,

²⁰pro kiu mi estas ambasadoro en kateno, por ke mi parolu kuragxe en gxi, kiel mi devus paroli.

²⁰for which I am an ambassador [bound] with a chain, that I may be bold in it as I ought to speak.

²¹Plue, por ke vi sciigxu pri miaj aferoj, kiel mi statas, raportos cxion al vi Tihxiko, la amata frato kaj fidela diakono en la Sinjoro,

²¹But in order that *ye* also may know what concerns me, how I am getting on, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful minister in [the] Lord, shall make all things known to you;

²²kiun mi sendis al vi gxuste por tio, ke vi sciigxu pri nia stato kaj por ke li konsolu viajn korojn.

²²whom I have sent to you for this very thing, that ye may know of our affairs and that he may encourage your hearts.

²³Paco estu al la fratoj, kaj amo kun fido de Dio, la Patro, kaj de la Sinjoro Jesuo Kristo.

²³Peace to the brethren, and love with faith, from God [the] Father and [the] Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁴Graco estu kun cxiuj, kiuj sendeklinigxe amas nian Sinjoron Jesuo Kristo.

²⁴Grace with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in incorruption.
