¹Kaj aperis al mi vorto de la Eternulo, dirante:

¹And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

²Ho filo de homo, turnu vian vizagxon al Jerusalem, prediku pri la sanktajxoj, kaj profetu pri la lando de Izrael.

²Son of man, set thy face against Jerusalem, and drop [words] against the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel,

³Kaj diru al la lando de Izrael:Tiele diras la Eternulo:Jen Mi iras kontraux vin, Mi eltiros Mian glavon el gxia ingo, kaj Mi ekstermos inter vi virtulojn kaj malpiulojn.

³and say to the land of Israel, Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, and I will draw forth my sword out of its sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.

⁴CXar Mi ekstermos inter vi virtulojn kaj malpiulojn, tial Mia glavo eliros el sia ingo kontraux cxiun karnon de la sudo gxia la nordo.

⁴Seeing that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of its sheath against all flesh, from the south to the north;

⁵Kaj cxiu karno ekscios, ke Mi, la Eternulo, eltiris Mian glavon el gxia ingo, kaj gxi ne plu revenos tien.

⁵and all flesh shall know that I Jehovah have drawn forth my sword out of its sheath: it shall not return any more.

⁶Kaj vi, ho filo de homo, gxemu, kun doloro de la lumboj, kaj maldolcxe gxemu antaux iliaj okuloj.

⁶Sigh then, thou son of man; with breaking of the loins, and with bitterness sigh before their eyes.

⁷Kaj kiam ili demandos vin, pro kio vi gxemas, respondu:Pro la sciigo, kiu venis, kaj de kiu cxiu koro disfandigxos, cxiuj manoj senfortigxos, cxiu spirito senkuragxigxos, kaj cxiuj genuoj farigxos kiel akvo; jen tio venas kaj plenumigxos, diras la Sinjoro, la Eternulo.

⁷And it shall be, when they say unto thee, Wherefore dost thou sigh? that thou shalt say, Because of the tidings, for it cometh; and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall languish, and all knees shall melt into water: behold, it cometh; it is here, saith the Lord Jehovah.

⁸Kaj aperis al mi vorto de la Eternulo, dirante:

⁸And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

⁹Ho filo de homo, profetu, kaj diru:Tiele diras la Eternulo:Proklamu:Glavo, glavo estas akrigita kaj purigita;

⁹Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith Jehovah: Say, A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also furbished.

¹⁰gxi estas akrigita, por bucxi; gxi estas purigita, por brili. CXu oni povas gxoji, kiam la sceptron de Mia filo malsxatas cxia ligno?

¹⁰It is sharpened for sore slaughter, it is furbished that it may glitter. Shall we then make mirth, [saying,] The sceptre of my son contemneth all wood?

¹¹Li donis gxin, por purigi, por ke oni povu preni gxin en la manon; la glavo estas akrigita kaj purigita, por doni gxin en la manon de mortiganto.

¹¹And he hath given it to be furbished that it may be handled. The sword, -- it is sharpened, and it is furbished to give it into the hand of the slayer.

¹²Kriu kaj ploru, ho filo de homo, cxar gxi iras kontraux Mian popolon, kontraux cxiujn eminentulojn de Izrael, kiuj estas kolektitaj kune kun Mia popolo sub la glavon. Pro tio batu viajn lumbojn.

¹²Cry and howl, son of man; for it shall be against my people, it shall be against all the princes of Israel: they are given up to the sword along with my people: smite therefore upon the thigh.

¹³CXar estis farita provo, sed kion gxi helpis? ecx malsxatata la sceptro ne povas ekzisti, diras la Sinjoro, la Eternulo.

¹³For the trial [is made]; and what if even the contemning sceptre shall be no [more]? saith the Lord Jehovah.

¹⁴Kaj vi, ho filo de homo, profetu, kaj interfrapu la manojn; cxar la glavo duobligxos, ecx triobligxos; gxi estas glavo por mortigado, glavo de granda mortigado gxi estas, kiu penetros al ili en la cxambrojn.

¹⁴And thou, son of man, prophesy, and smite thy hands together; for [the strokes of] the sword shall be doubled the third time: it is the sword of the slain, the sword that hath slain the great one, which encompasseth them privily.

¹⁵Mi sendos glavon teruran, por ke la koroj ektremu, kaj por ke multaj falu cxe cxiuj iliaj pordegoj. Ha, kiel gxi brilas, kiel akrigita gxi estas por la bucxado!

¹⁵In order that the heart may melt, and the stumbling-blocks be multiplied, I have set the threatening sword against all their gates: ah! it is made glittering, it is whetted for the slaughter.

¹⁶Kolektigxu dekstren, metu vin maldekstren, kien ajn via vizagxo sin tiras.

¹⁶Gather up [strength], go to the right hand, turn thee, go to the left, whithersoever thy face is appointed.

¹⁷Mi plauxdos per Miaj manoj, kaj Mi kontentigos Mian indignon; Mi, la Eternulo, tion diris.

¹⁷And I myself will smite my hands together, and I will satisfy my fury: I Jehovah have spoken [it].

¹⁸Kaj aperis al mi vorto de la Eternulo, dirante:

¹⁸And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

¹⁹Vi, ho filo de homo, marku al vi du vojojn, per kiuj venos la glavo de la regxo de Babel; ambaux devas eliri el unu lando; elektu lokon sur la cxefa vojo, elektu urbon.

¹⁹And thou, son of man, set thee two ways, by which the sword of the king of Babylon may come -- out of one land shall they both come -- and make thee a signpost, make it at the head of the way to the city.

²⁰Marku vojon, per kiu devas veni glavo en Raban de la Amonidoj, kaj en Judujon, en la fortikigitan Jerusalemon.

²⁰Appoint a way for the coming of the sword to Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and to Judah at the fenced [city] of Jerusalem.

²¹CXar la regxo de Babel haltis cxe la disvojigxo, cxe la komenco de du vojoj; por ricevi antauxdirojn, li jxetas sagojn, demandas la domajn diojn, esploras hepaton.

²¹For the king of Babylon standeth at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he shaketh [his] arrows, he inquireth of the teraphim, he looketh in the liver.

²²Sur la dekstra flanko la sortodemandado montras Jerusalemon, por starigi muregrompilojn, malfermi la busxon por mortigado, sonigi militajn trumpetojn, direkti muregrompilojn kontraux la pordegojn, sxuti remparon, konstrui bastionon.

²²In his right hand is the lot of Jerusalem to appoint battering-rams, to open the mouth for bloodshed, to lift up the voice with shouting, to appoint battering-rams against the gates, to cast mounds, to build siege-towers.

²³Sed tio aperas al ili kiel antauxdiro malvera, ili faras jxurojn, kaj li rememorigas la krimojn, por ke ili estu kaptitaj.

²³And this shall be a false divination in their sight, for them that have sworn oaths; but he will call to remembrance the iniquity, that they may be taken.

²⁴Tial tiele diras la Sinjoro, la Eternulo:Pro tio, ke vi rememoras viajn krimojn, elmontras viajn kulpojn en cxiuj viaj agoj-pro tio, ke vi rememoras, vi estos kaptitaj per mano.

²⁴Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because ye make your iniquity to be remembered in that your transgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins appear; because ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand.

²⁵Kaj vi, ho senhonora kaj malpia estro de Izrael, kies tago alvenis nun, kiam devas cxesigxi liaj krimoj-

²⁵And thou, profane, wicked prince of Israel, whose day is come, at the time of the iniquity of the end,

²⁶tiele diras la Sinjoro, la Eternulo:Deprenu la cidaron kaj demetu la kronon; ne plue estos tiel; kiu estis humila, tiu altigxos, kaj kiu estis fiera, tiu malaltigxos.

²⁶-- thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Remove the mitre and take off the crown; what is shall be no [more]. Exalt that which is low, and abase that which is high.

²⁷Mi forigos, forigos, forigos gxin; kaj gxi ne ekzistos, gxis venos tiu, kiu havas rajton je gxi, kaj al li Mi gxin donos.

²⁷I will overturn, overturn, overturn it! This also shall be no [more], until he come whose right it is; and I will give it [to him].

²⁸Kaj vi, ho filo de homo, profetu, kaj diru:Tiele diras la Sinjoro, la Eternulo, pri la Amonidoj kaj pri ilia hontindeco, kaj diru:Glavo, glavo estas nudigita por bucxado, akrigita por ekstermado, ke gxi brilu;

²⁸And thou, son of man, prophesy and say, Thus speaketh the Lord Jehovah concerning the children of Ammon, and concerning their reproach; and thou shalt say, A sword, a sword is drawn; for the slaughter is it furbished, that it may consume, that it may glitter:

²⁹pro tio, ke oni prezentas al vi malverajn viziojn, ke oni antauxdiras al vi mensogajxon, por meti vin sur la kolojn de mortigotaj malpiuloj, kies tago alvenis nun, kiam devas cxesigxi iliaj krimoj.

²⁹whilst they see vanity for thee, whilst they divine a lie unto thee, to lay thee upon the necks of the wicked that are slain, whose day is come at the time of the iniquity of the end.

³⁰Remetu gxin en gxian ingon. Sur la loko, kie vi estas kreita, en la lando de via naskigxo, Mi jugxos vin.

³⁰Restore [it] to its sheath. I will judge thee in the place where thou wast created, in the land of thy birth.

³¹Kaj Mi elversxos sur vin Mian indignon, Mi blovos sur vin la fajron de Mia kolero, kaj Mi transdonos vin en la manojn de homoj furiozaj, lertaj ekstermistoj.

³¹And I will pour out mine indignation upon thee, I will blow upon thee the fire of my wrath, and give thee into the hand of brutish men, skilful to destroy.

³²Vi farigxos mangxajxo por la fajro; via sango elversxigxos en la lando; oni ne rememoros vin; cxar Mi, la Eternulo, tion diris.

³²Thou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou shalt not be remembered: for I Jehovah have spoken.
