¹Kaj li komencis paroli al ili per paraboloj. Vinbergxardenon plantis unu viro, kaj cxirkauxmetis plektobarilon, kaj fosis vinpremejon, kaj konstruis turon, kaj luigis gxin al kultivistoj, kaj forvojagxis.

¹And he began to say to them in parables, A man planted a vineyard, and made a fence round [it] and dug a wine-vat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and left the country.

²Kaj li sendis sklavon en la gxusta tempo al la kultivistoj, por ricevi de la kultivistoj el la fruktoj de la vinberejo.

²And he sent a bondman to the husbandmen at the season, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.

³Kaj ili kaptis lin kaj skurgxis lin, kaj forsendis lin senhava.

³But they took him, and beat [him], and sent [him] away empty.

⁴Kaj poste li sendis al ili duan sklavon; kaj ili lin kapvundis kaj malhonoris.

⁴And again he sent to them another bondman; and [at] him they [threw stones, and] struck [him] on the head, and sent [him] away with insult.

⁵Kaj li sendis alian, kaj ili mortigis lin; kaj multajn aliajn; skurgxante unujn, kaj mortigante aliajn.

⁵And [again] he sent another, and him they killed; and many others, beating some and killing some.

⁶Li havis ankoraux unu amatan filon:li sendis lin ankaux la lastan al ili, dirante:Ili respektos mian filon.

⁶Having yet therefore one beloved son, he sent also him to them the last, saying, They will have respect for my son.

⁷Sed tiuj kultivistoj diris inter si:CXi tiu estas la heredonto; venu, ni mortigu lin, kaj la heredajxo estos nia.

⁷But those husbandmen said to one another, This is the heir: come, let us kill him and the inheritance will be ours.

⁸Kaj ili kaptis kaj mortigis lin, kaj eljxetis lin ekster la vinberejon.

⁸And they took him and killed him, and cast him forth out of the vineyard.

⁹Kion do faros la sinjoro de la vinberejo? li venos kaj pereigos la kultivistojn, kaj donos la vinberejon al aliaj.

⁹What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard to others.

¹⁰CXu vi ne legis tiun skribon: SXtono, kiun malsxatis la konstruantoj, Farigxis sxtono bazangula;

¹⁰Have ye not even read this scripture, The stone which they that builded rejected, this has become the corner-stone:

¹¹De la Eternulo cxi tio farigxis, Kaj gxi estas miraklo en niaj okuloj?

¹¹this is of [the] Lord, and it is wonderful in our eyes?

¹²Kaj ili celis kapti lin, sed ili timis la homamason; cxar ili eksciis, ke li parolis la parabolon kontraux ili; kaj forlasinte lin, ili foriris.

¹²And they sought to lay hold of him, and they feared the crowd; for they knew that he had spoken the parable of them. And they left him and went away.

¹³Kaj ili sendis al li iujn el la Fariseoj kaj el la Herodanoj, por impliki lin per interparolado.

¹³And they send to him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, that they might catch him in speaking.

¹⁴Kaj veninte, ili diris al li:Majstro, ni scias, ke vi estas verama kaj ne zorgas pri iu ajn; cxar vi ne favoras la personon de homoj, sed instruas laux vero la vojon de Dio. CXu konvenas doni tributon al Cezaro, aux ne?

¹⁴And they come and say to him, Teacher, we know that thou art true, and carest not for any one; for thou regardest not men's person, but teachest the way of God with truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar or not?

¹⁵CXu ni donu, aux ne donu? Sed li, sciante ilian hipokritecon, diris al ili:Kial vi provas min? alportu al mi denaron, ke mi gxin vidu.

¹⁵Should we give, or should we not give? But he knowing their hypocrisy said unto them, Why tempt ye me? Bring me a denarius that I may see [it].

¹⁶Kaj ili gxin alportis. Kaj li diris al ili:Kies estas cxi tiu bildo kaj la surskribajxo? Kaj ili diris al li:De Cezaro.

¹⁶And they brought [it]. And he says to them, Whose [is] this image and superscription? And they said to him, Caesar's.

¹⁷Kaj Jesuo respondis al ili:Redonu al Cezaro la proprajxon de Cezaro, kaj al Dio la proprajxon de Dio. Kaj ili miregis pro li.

¹⁷And Jesus answering said to them, Pay what is Caesar's to Caesar, and what is God's to God. And they wondered at him.

¹⁸Kaj venis al li Sadukeoj, kiuj diras, ke ne estas relevigxo; kaj ili demandis lin, dirante:

¹⁸And Sadducees come to him, that say there is no resurrection; and they demanded of him saying,

¹⁹Majstro, Moseo skribis por ni:Se ies frato mortos kaj postlasos edzinon kaj ne lasos infanon, la frato de la mortinto prenu lian edzinon kaj naskigu idaron al sia frato.

¹⁹Teacher, Moses wrote to us that if any one's brother die, and leave a wife behind, and leave no children, that his brother shall take his wife, and raise up seed to his brother.

²⁰Estis sep fratoj; kaj la unua prenis edzinon, kaj mortinte, ne lasis idaron;

²⁰There were seven brethren; and the first took a wife, and dying did not leave seed;

²¹kaj la dua prenis sxin, kaj mortis, ne lasinte idaron; kaj la tria same;

²¹and the second took her and died, and neither did he leave seed; and the third likewise.

²²kaj la sep ne lasis idaron. Laste post cxiuj la virino ankaux mortis.

²²And the seven [took her and] did not leave seed. Last of all the woman also died.

²³En la relevigxo, por kiu el ili sxi estos edzino? cxar cxiuj sep havis sxin kiel edzinon.

²³In the resurrection, when they shall rise again, of which of them shall she be wife, for the seven had her as wife?

²⁴Kaj Jesuo diris al ili:CXu vi ne eraras pro tio, ke vi ne scias la Skribojn, nek la potencon de Dio?

²⁴And Jesus answering said to them, Do not ye therefore err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God?

²⁵CXar kiam oni levigxos el la mortintoj, oni nek edzigxas nek edzinigxas, sed estas kiel angxeloj en la cxielo.

²⁵For when they rise from among [the] dead they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as angels [who are] in the heavens.

²⁶Sed pri la mortintoj, ke ili relevigxas, cxu vi ne legis en la libro de Moseo cxe la arbetajxo, kiel Dio parolis al li, dirante:Mi estas la Dio de Abraham kaj la Dio de Isaak kaj la Dio de Jakob?

²⁶But concerning the dead that they rise, have ye not read in the book of Moses, in [the section of] the bush, how God spoke to him, saying, *I* [am] the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?

²⁷Li estas Dio ne de la mortintoj, sed de la vivantoj:vi multe eraras.

²⁷He is not the God of [the] dead, but of [the] living. *Ye* therefore greatly err.

²⁸Kaj unu el la skribistoj alvenis kaj auxskultis la diskutadon, kaj rimarkis, ke li lerte respondas al ili; kaj tiu demandis lin:Kiu ordono estas la unua el cxiuj?

²⁸And one of the scribes who had come up, and had heard them reasoning together, perceiving that he had answered them well, demanded of him, Which is [the] first commandment of all?

²⁹Kaj Jesuo respondis:La unua estas:Auxskultu, ho Izrael! la Eternulo, nia Dio, la Eternulo estas unu;

²⁹And Jesus answered him, [The] first commandment of all [is], Hear, Israel: the Lord our God is one Lord;

³⁰kaj amu la Eternulon, vian Dion, per via tuta koro kaj per via tuta animo kaj per via tuta menso kaj per via tuta forto.

³⁰and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thine understanding, and with all thy strength. This is [the] first commandment.

³¹Kaj jen estas la dua:Amu vian proksimulon kiel vin mem. Pli granda ol cxi tiuj ne estas alia ordono.

³¹And a second like it [is] this: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is not another commandment greater than these.

³²Kaj respondis al li la skribisto:Bone, Majstro, laux vero vi respondis, ke Li estas unu, kaj ne ekzistas alia krom Li;

³²And the scribe said to him, Right, teacher; thou hast spoken according to [the] truth. For he is one, and there is none other besides him;

³³kaj ami Lin per la tuta koro kaj per la tuta intelekto kaj per la tuta forto, kaj ami sian proksimulon kiel sin mem-tio multe pli valoras, ol cxiuj bruloferoj kaj pekoferoj.

³³and to love him with all the heart, and with all the intelligence, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one's neighbour as one's self, is more than all the burnt-offerings and sacrifices.

³⁴Kaj Jesuo, vidante, ke li respondis prudente, diris al li:Vi ne estas malproksime de la regno de Dio. Kaj neniu plu kuragxis fari al li demandon.

³⁴And Jesus, seeing that he had answered intelligently, said to him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no one dared question him any more.

³⁵Kaj responde Jesuo diris, instruante en la templo:Kial diras la skribistoj, ke la Kristo estas Filo de David?

³⁵And Jesus answering said [as he was] teaching in the temple, How do the scribes say that the Christ is son of David?

³⁶David mem diris per la Sankta Spirito: La Eternulo diris al mia Sinjoro: Sidu dekstre de Mi, GXis Mi faros viajn malamikojn benketo por viaj piedoj.

³⁶[for] David himself said [speaking] in the Holy Spirit, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit on my right hand until I put thine enemies [as] footstool of thy feet.

³⁷David mem nomas lin Sinjoro; kaj kiel do li estas lia filo? Kaj la granda homamaso auxskultis lin plezure.

³⁷David himself [therefore] calls him Lord, and whence is he his son? And the mass of the people heard him gladly.

³⁸Kaj en sia instruado li diris:Gardu vin kontraux la skribistoj, kiuj amas promenadi en roboj kaj salutojn sur la placoj,

³⁸And he said to them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, who like to walk about in long robes, and salutations in the marketplaces,

³⁹kaj cxefsegxojn en la sinagogoj, kaj cxeflokojn cxe festenoj;

³⁹and first seats in the synagogues, and first places at suppers;

⁴⁰kaj kiuj formangxas la domojn de vidvinoj, kaj por preteksto ili longe pregxas; ili ricevos pli severan kondamnon.

⁴⁰who devour the houses of widows, and as a pretext make long prayers. These shall receive a severer judgment.

⁴¹Kaj sidante kontraux la monkesto, li rimarkis, kiel la homoj enjxetas monerojn en la monkeston; kaj multaj ricxuloj enjxetis multon.

⁴¹And Jesus, having sat down opposite the treasury, saw how the crowd was casting money into the treasury; and many rich cast in much.

⁴²Kaj venis unu malricxa vidvino, kaj enjxetis du leptojn, kiuj faras kodranton.

⁴²And a poor widow came and cast in two mites, which is a farthing.

⁴³Kaj alvokinte al si siajn discxiplojn, li diris al ili:Vere mi diras al vi, ke tiu malricxa vidvino enjxetis pli ol cxiuj jxetantoj en la monkeston;

⁴³And having called his disciples to [him] he said to them, Verily I say unto you, This poor widow has cast in more than all who have cast into the treasury:

⁴⁴cxar ili cxiuj enjxetis el sia abundo, sed sxi el sia senhaveco jxetis cxion, kion sxi havis, sian tutan vivrimedon.

⁴⁴for all have cast in of that which they had in abundance, but she of her destitution has cast in all that she had, the whole of her living.
