1La vino estas blasfemanto, ebriiga trinkajxo estas sovagxa; Kaj kiu delogigxas per ili, tiu ne estas prudenta.
1Wine is a scorner, strong drink is raging; and whoso erreth thereby is not wise.
2Minaco de regxo estas kiel kriego de leono; Kiu lin kolerigas, tiu pekas kontraux sia animo.
2The terror of a king is as the roaring of a lion: he that provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own soul.
3Estas honoro por homo cxesigi malpacon; Sed cxiu malsagxulo estas malpacema.
3It is an honour for a man to cease from strife; but every fool rusheth into it.
4En la malvarma tempo mallaborulo ne plugas; Li petos en auxtuno, kaj li nenion ricevos.
4The sluggard will not plough by reason of the winter; he shall beg in harvest, and have nothing.
5Intenco en la koro de homo estas profunda akvo; Sed homo sagxa gxin elcxerpos.
5Counsel in the heart of man is deep water, and a man of understanding draweth it out.
6Multaj homoj proklamas pri sia boneco; Sed kiu trovos homon fidelan?
6Most men will proclaim every one his own kindness; but a faithful man who shall find?
7Virtulo iras en sia senpekeco; Felicxaj estas liaj infanoj post li.
7The righteous walketh in his integrity: blessed are his children after him!
8Regxo, kiu sidas sur trono de jugxo, Disventumas per siaj okuloj cxion malbonan.
8A king sitting on the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes.
9Kiu povas diri:Mi purigis mian koron, Mi estas libera de mia peko?
9Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?
10Neegalaj peziloj, neegalaj mezuroj, Ambaux estas abomenajxo por la Eternulo.
10Divers weights, divers measures, even both of them are abomination to Jehovah.
11Ecx knabon oni povas ekkoni laux liaj faroj, CXu estas pura kaj justa lia konduto.
11Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.
12Orelon auxdantan kaj okulon vidantan: Ilin ambaux kreis la Eternulo.
12The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, Jehovah hath made even both of them.
13Ne amu dormon, por ke vi ne malricxigxu; Malfermu viajn okulojn, kaj vi satigxos de pano.
13Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, [and] thou shalt be satisfied with bread.
14Malbona, malbona, diras la acxetanto; Sed kiam li foriris, tiam li fanfaronas.
14Bad! bad! saith the buyer; but when he is gone his way, then he boasteth.
15Oni povas havi oron kaj multe da perloj; Sed busxo prudenta estas multevalora ilo.
15There is gold, and a multitude of rubies; but the lips of knowledge are a precious Jewel.
16Prenu la veston de tiu, kiu garantiis por aliulo; Kaj pro la fremduloj prenu de li garantiajxon.
16Take his garment that is become surety [for] another, and hold him in pledge for strangers.
17Malhonesta pano estas bongusta por homo; Sed lia busxo poste estos plena de sxtonetoj.
17Bread of falsehood is sweet to a man, but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.
18Intencoj fortikigxas per konsilo; Kaj militon oni faru prudente.
18Plans are established by counsel; and with good advice make war.
19Kiu malkasxas sekreton, tiu estas kiel kalumnianto; Ne komunikigxu kun tiu, kiu havas largxan busxon.
19He that goeth about talebearing revealeth secrets; therefore meddle not with him that openeth his lips.
20Kiu malbenas sian patron kaj sian patrinon, Ties lumilo estingigxos meze de profunda mallumo.
20Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in the blackest darkness.
21Heredo, al kiu oni komence tro rapidas, Ne estas benata en sia fino.
21An inheritance obtained hastily at the beginning will not be blessed in the end.
22Ne diru:Mi repagos malbonon; Fidu la Eternulon, kaj Li vin helpos.
22Say not, I will recompense evil: wait on Jehovah, and he shall save thee.
23Neegalaj peziloj estas abomenajxo por la Eternulo, Kaj malvera pesilo estas ne bona.
23Divers weights are an abomination unto Jehovah; and a false balance is not good.
24La irado de homo dependas de la Eternulo; Kiel homo povus kompreni sian vojon?
24The steps of a man are from Jehovah; and how can a man understand his own way?
25GXi estas reto por homo, se li rapidas nomi ion sankta Kaj esploras nur post faro de promeso.
25It is a snare to a man rashly to say, It is hallowed, and after vows to make inquiry.
26Sagxa regxo dispelas malvirtulojn, Kaj venigas radon sur ilin.
26A wise king scattereth the wicked, and bringeth the wheel over them.
27La animo de homo estas lumilo de la Eternulo; GXi esploras cxiujn internajxojn de la korpo.
27Man's spirit is the lamp of Jehovah, searching all the inner parts of the belly.
28Favorkoreco kaj veremeco hardas regxon; Kaj per favorkoreco li subtenas sian tronon.
28Mercy and truth preserve the king; and he upholdeth his throne by mercy.
29Gloro por junuloj estas ilia forto, Kaj ornamo por maljunuloj estas grizeco.
29The glory of young men is their strength; and the beauty of old men is the grey head.
30Vundoj de batoj devas penetri en malbonulon, Kaj frapoj devas iri profunde en lian korpon.
30Wounding stripes purge away evil, and strokes [purge] the inner parts of the belly.
