¹Ask of Jehovah rain in the time of the latter rain; Jehovah will make lightnings, and he will give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.

²La domaj dioj parolas sensencajxon, la antauxdiristoj havas malverajn viziojn, rakontas mensogajn songxojn, kaj konsolas per vantajxo; tial ili diskuras kiel sxafoj, suferas pro tio, ke ili ne havas pasxtiston.

²For the teraphim have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams: they comfort in vain. Therefore they have gone away as a flock, they are in distress, because there is no shepherd.

³Kontraux la pasxtistoj ekflamis Mia kolero, kaj la antauxirantajn virkaprojn Mi punos; sed la Eternulo Cebaot vizitos Sian sxafaron, la domon de Jehuda, kaj faros gxin kiel ornamita cxevalo en batalo.

³Mine anger is kindled against the shepherds, and I will punish the he-goats; for Jehovah of hosts visiteth his flock, the house of Judah, and maketh them as his majestic horse in the battle.

⁴El gxi eliros la angula sxtono, el gxi la cxefa stango, el gxi la batala pafarko, el gxi eliros cxiuj regantoj.

⁴From him shall come forth the corner-stone, from him the nail, from him the battle bow, from him every exactor together.

⁵Ili estos kiel forteguloj, kiuj piedpremas en batalo kvazaux koton sur la strato; kaj ili batalos, cxar la Eternulo estos kun ili, kaj ili hontigos tiujn, kiuj sidas sur cxevaloj.

⁵And they shall be as mighty men, treading down the mire of the streets in the battle; and they shall fight, for Jehovah is with them, and the riders on horses shall be put to shame.

⁶Mi fortigos la domon de Jehuda, Mi savos la domon de Jozef, kaj Mi enlogxigos ilin, cxar Mi kompatas ilin. Kaj ili estos en tia stato, kvazaux Mi neniam ilin forlasis; cxar Mi, la Eternulo, estas ilia Dio, kaj Mi auxskultos ilin.

⁶And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them back again; for I will have mercy upon them; and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am Jehovah their God, and I will answer them.

⁷Efraim estos kiel fortegulo; kaj ilia koro estos gaja, kiel de vino; iliaj filoj vidos kaj gxojos; ilia koro triumfos per la Eternulo.

⁷And [they of] Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their hearts shall rejoice as through wine; and their children shall see [it], and rejoice; their heart shall be joyful in Jehovah.

⁸Mi fajfos al ili kaj kunvenigos ilin, cxar Mi elacxetis ilin; kaj ili multigxos, kiel ili multigxis antauxe.

⁸I will hiss for them, and gather them; for I have redeemed them: and they shall multiply as they used to multiply.

⁹Mi semos ilin inter la popoloj, kaj en malproksimaj landoj ili memoros Min, kaj ili vivos kun siaj infanoj kaj revenos.

⁹And I will sow them among the peoples, and they shall remember me in far countries; and they shall live with their children and return.

¹⁰Mi revenigos ilin el la lando Egipta, Mi kolektos ilin el Asirio, Mi revenigos ilin en la landon Gileadan kaj sur Lebanonon, kaj ne trovigxos suficxe da loko por ili.

¹⁰And I will bring them again out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and [place] shall not be found for them.

¹¹Malfelicxo trairos la maron, batos la ondojn de la maro, kaj sekigxos cxiuj profundaj lokoj de Nilo; malaltigxos la fiereco de Asirio, kaj malaperos la sceptro de Egiptujo.

¹¹And he shall pass through the sea of affliction, and shall smite the billows in the sea, and all the depths of the Nile shall dry up; and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart away.

¹²Mi faros ilin forteguloj per la Eternulo, kaj en Lia nomo ili irados, diras la Eternulo.

¹²And I will strengthen them in Jehovah; and they shall walk in his name, saith Jehovah.
