¹Se aperos inter vi profeto aux songxisto kaj prezentos al vi signon aux miraklon,

¹If there arise in the midst of you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and he give you a sign or a wonder,

²kaj plenumigxos la signo aux miraklo, pri kiu li parolis al vi, kaj li diros:Ni sekvu aliajn diojn, kiujn vi ne konas, kaj ni servu al ili:

²and the sign or the wonder come to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, “Let us go after other gods” (which you have not known) “and let us serve them”;

³tiam ne auxskultu la vortojn de tiu profeto aux de tiu songxisto, cxar tiam elprovas vin la Eternulo, via Dio, por sciigxi, cxu vi amas la Eternulon, vian Dion, per via tuta koro kaj per via tuta animo.

³you shall not listen to the words of that prophet, or to that dreamer of dreams: for Yahweh your God proves you, to know whether you love Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

⁴La Eternulon, vian Dion, sekvu, kaj Lin timu, kaj Liajn ordonojn observu, kaj Lian vocxon auxskultu, kaj al Li servu, kaj al Li altenigxu.

⁴You shall walk after Yahweh your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and you shall serve him, and cling to him.

⁵Kaj tiun profeton aux tiun songxiston oni devas mortigi; cxar li predikis defalon de la Eternulo, via Dio, kiu elkondukis vin el la lando Egipta kaj liberigis vin el la domo de sklaveco-por delogi vin de la vojo, laux kiu la Eternulo, via Dio, ordonis al vi iri; kaj ekstermu la malbonon el inter vi.

⁵That prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death, because he has spoken rebellion against Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to draw you aside out of the way which Yahweh your God commanded you to walk in. So you shall put away the evil from the midst of you.

⁷el la dioj de la popoloj, kiuj estas cxirkaux vi, la proksimaj de vi aux la malproksimaj de vi, de unu fino de la lando gxis la alia:

⁷of the gods of the peoples who are around you, near to you, or far off from you, from the one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth;

⁸tiam ne konsentu kun li kaj ne auxskultu lin; ne indulgu lin via okulo, ne kompatu kaj ne kasxu lin,

⁸you shall not consent to him, nor listen to him; neither shall your eye pity him, neither shall you spare, neither shall you conceal him:

⁹sed mortigu lin; via mano devas esti sur li la unua, por mortigi lin, kaj la manoj de la tuta popolo poste.

⁹but you shall surely kill him; your hand shall be first on him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.

¹⁰Kaj jxetu sur lin sxtonojn, ke li mortu; cxar li volis forlogi vin de la Eternulo, via Dio, kiu elkondukis vin el la lando Egipta, el la domo de sklaveco.

¹⁰You shall stone him to death with stones, because he has sought to draw you away from Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

¹¹Kaj la tuta Izrael tion auxdos kaj ektimos, kaj oni ne plu faros tian malbonan agon inter vi.

¹¹All Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall not do any more such wickedness as this is in the midst of you.

¹²Se vi auxdos pri iu el viaj urboj, kiujn la Eternulo, via Dio, donas al vi por logxado, ke oni diras:

¹²If you shall hear tell concerning one of your cities, which Yahweh your God gives you to dwell there, saying,

¹³Eliris el inter vi homoj sentauxgaj kaj forlogis la logxantojn de sia urbo, dirante:Ni iru kaj servu al aliaj dioj, kiujn vi ne konis;

¹³Certain base fellows are gone out from the midst of you, and have drawn away the inhabitants of their city, saying, “Let us go and serve other gods,” which you have not known;

¹⁴kaj vi sercxos kaj esploros kaj bone pridemandos; kaj montrigxos, ke tio estas preciza vero, ke la abomenajxo estas farita inter vi:

¹⁴then you shall inquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is done in the midst of you,

¹⁵tiam mortigu la logxantojn de tiu urbo per glavo, detruu gxin, kaj cxion, kio estas en gxi, kaj ankaux gxiajn brutojn mortigu per glavo.

¹⁵you shall surely strike the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein and its livestock, with the edge of the sword.

¹⁶Kaj gxian tutan havon kolektu sur la mezon de placo, kaj forbruligu per fajro la urbon kaj gxian tutan havon, absolute cxion, al la Eternulo, via Dio; kaj gxi estu eterna ruino, oni neniam gxin rekonstruu.

¹⁶You shall gather all its spoil into the midst of its street, and shall burn with fire the city, and all its spoil every whit, to Yahweh your God: and it shall be a heap forever; it shall not be built again.

¹⁷Kaj nenio el la anatemajxo algluigxu al via mano, por ke la Eternulo forlasu Sian flaman koleron kaj donu al vi favorkorecon kaj indulgu vin kaj multigu vin, kiel Li jxuris al viaj patroj,

¹⁷Nothing of the devoted thing shall cling to your hand; that Yahweh may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and show you mercy, and have compassion on you, and multiply you, as he has sworn to your fathers;

¹⁸se vi auxskultos la vocxon de la Eternulo, via Dio, observante cxiujn Liajn ordonojn, kiujn mi ordonas al vi hodiaux, farante placxantajxon antaux la okuloj de la Eternulo, via Dio.

¹⁸when you shall listen to the voice of Yahweh your God, to keep all his commandments which I command you this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of Yahweh your God.
