¹Tiele diris la Eternulo:Iru kaj acxetu argilan krucxon de potisto, kaj, preninte kelkajn el la plejagxuloj de la popolo kaj el la plejagxuloj de la pastroj,

¹Thus said Yahweh, Go, and buy a potter’s earthen bottle, and take some of the elders of the people, and of the elders of the priests;

²iru en la valon de la filo de Hinom, kiu estas antaux la Pordego de Argilajxoj, kaj proklamu tie la vortojn, kiujn Mi diros al vi.

²and go forth to the valley of the son of Hinnom, which is by the entry of the gate Harsith, and proclaim there the words that I shall tell you;

³Kaj diru:Auxskultu la vorton de la Eternulo, ho regxoj de Judujo kaj logxantoj de Jerusalem! tiele diras la Eternulo Cebaot, Dio de Izrael:Jen Mi venigos sur cxi tiun lokon tian malfelicxon, ke al cxiu, kiu auxdos pri gxi, eksonoros liaj oreloj.

³and say, Hear the word of Yahweh, kings of Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem: thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, Behold, I will bring evil on this place, which whoever hears, his ears shall tingle.

⁴Pro tio, ke ili forlasis Min, kaj malpurigis cxi tiun lokon, kaj incensis sur gxi al aliaj dioj, kiujn ne konis ili nek iliaj patroj nek la regxoj de Judujo, kaj plenigis cxi tiun lokon per sango de senkulpuloj;

⁴Because they have forsaken me, and have estranged this place, and have burned incense in it to other gods, that they didn’t know, they and their fathers and the kings of Judah; and have filled this place with the blood of innocents,

⁵kaj konstruis altajxojn al Baal, por forbruligi siajn filojn kiel bruloferojn al Baal, kion Mi ne ordonis kaj ne diris, kaj kio ecx ne venis en Mian kapon:

⁵and have built the high places of Baal, to burn their sons in the fire for burnt offerings to Baal; which I didn’t command, nor spoke it, neither came it into my mind:

⁶pro tio jen venos tempo, diras la Eternulo, kiam oni jam nomos cxi tiun lokon ne Tofet kaj valo de la filo de Hinom, sed valo de mortigado.

⁶therefore, behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that this place shall no more be called Topheth, nor The valley of the son of Hinnom, but The valley of Slaughter.

⁷Kaj Mi detruos sur cxi tiu loko la planon de Judujo kaj Jerusalem; kaj Mi faligos ilin de glavo antaux iliaj malamikoj, kaj de la mano de tiuj, kiuj sercxas ilian animon, kaj Mi donos iliajn kadavrojn kiel mangxajxon al la birdoj de la cxielo kaj al la bestoj de la tero.

⁷I will make void the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem in this place; and I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hand of those who seek their life: and their dead bodies will I give to be food for the birds of the sky, and for the animals of the earth.

⁸Kaj Mi faros cxi tiun urbon dezerto kaj mokatajxo; cxiu, kiu preterpasos gxin, miros kaj mokos cxiujn gxiajn frapojn.

⁸I will make this city an astonishment, and a hissing; everyone who passes thereby shall be astonished and hiss because of all its plagues.

⁹I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters; and they shall eat everyone the flesh of his friend, in the siege and in the distress, with which their enemies, and those who seek their life, shall distress them.

¹⁰Kaj disrompu la krucxon antaux la okuloj de tiuj viroj, kiuj venis kun vi;

¹⁰Then you shall break the bottle in the sight of the men who go with you,

¹¹kaj diru al ili:Tiele diras la Eternulo Cebaot:Tiele Mi disrompos cxi tiun popolon kaj cxi tiun urbon, kiel oni disrompas vazon de potisto, ke gxi ne povas esti tutajxigita; kaj oni enterigos en Tofet, cxar ne ekzistos alia loko por enterigado.

¹¹and shall tell them, Thus says Yahweh of Armies: Even so will I break this people and this city, as one breaks a potter’s vessel, that can’t be made whole again; and they shall bury in Topheth, until there is no place to bury.

¹²Tiele Mi agos kun cxi tiu loko, diras la Eternulo, kaj kun gxiaj logxantoj, kaj Mi faros cxi tiun lokon simila al Tofet.

¹²Thus will I do to this place, says Yahweh, and to its inhabitants, even making this city as Topheth:

¹³Kaj la domoj de Jerusalem kaj la domoj de la regxoj de Judujo estos malpuraj, kiel la loko Tofet, cxiuj domoj, sur kies tegmentoj oni incensis al la tuta armeo de la cxielo kaj versxis versxoferojn al aliaj dioj.

¹³and the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses of the kings of Judah, which are defiled, shall be as the place of Topheth, even all the houses on whose roofs they have burned incense to all the army of the sky, and have poured out drink offerings to other gods.

¹⁴Kaj Jeremia venis de Tofet, kien sendis lin la Eternulo por profeti; kaj li starigxis sur la korto de la domo de la Eternulo, kaj diris al la tuta popolo:

¹⁴Then came Jeremiah from Topheth, where Yahweh had sent him to prophesy; and he stood in the court of Yahweh’s house, and said to all the people:

¹⁵Tiele diras la Eternulo Cebaot, Dio de Izrael:Jen Mi venigos sur cxi tiun urbon kaj sur cxiujn gxiajn vilagxojn la tutan malfelicxon, kiun Mi eldiris pri gxi; cxar ili obstinigis sian nukon kaj ne auxskultas Miajn vortojn.

¹⁵Thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, Behold, I will bring on this city and on all its towns all the evil that I have pronounced against it; because they have made their neck stiff, that they may not hear my words.
