¹Jesus answered and spoke again in parables to them, saying,

² “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a certain king, who made a marriage feast for his son,

³ and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the marriage feast, but they would not come.

⁴Poste li sendis aliajn sklavojn, dirante:Diru al la invititoj:Jen mi preparis la mangxon; miaj bovoj kaj miaj grasigitaj brutoj estas bucxitaj, kaj cxio estas preta; venu al la edzigxa festo.

⁴ Again he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “Behold, I have prepared my dinner. My cattle and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the marriage feast!”’

⁵Sed ili malatentis, kaj foriris, unu al sia bieno, alia al sia komercado;

⁵ But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his merchandise,

⁶kaj la ceteraj, kaptinte liajn sklavojn, perfortis kaj mortigis ilin.

⁶ and the rest grabbed his servants, and treated them shamefully, and killed them.

⁷Kaj la regxo koleris; kaj sendinte siajn armeojn, li pereigis tiujn mortigintojn kaj bruligis ilian urbon.

⁷ When the king heard that, he was angry, and sent his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.

⁸ “Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited weren’t worthy.

⁹ Go therefore to the intersections of the highways, and as many as you may find, invite to the marriage feast.’

¹⁰Kaj tiuj sklavoj, elirinte sur la vojojn, kunvenigis cxiujn, kiujn ili trovis, malbonajn kaj bonajn; kaj la edzigxa festo plenigxis de gastoj.

¹⁰ Those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together as many as they found, both bad and good. The wedding was filled with guests.

¹¹Sed la regxo, enveninte por rigardi la gastojn, tie vidis viron, kiu ne havis sur si edzigxofestan veston;

¹¹ But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man who didn’t have on wedding clothing,

¹²kaj li diris al li:Amiko, kiel vi envenis cxi tien, ne havante edzigxofestan veston? Kaj li silentadis.

¹² and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here not wearing wedding clothing?’ He was speechless.

¹³Tiam la regxo diris al siaj servantoj:Ligu lin mane kaj piede, kaj eljxetu lin en la eksteran mallumon; tie estos la plorado kaj la grincado de dentoj.

¹³ Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and throw him into the outer darkness; there is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.’

¹⁴CXar multaj estas vokitaj, sed malmultaj estas elektitaj.

¹⁴ For many are called, but few chosen.”

¹⁵Tiam iris la Fariseoj, kaj konsiligxis, kiel ili povos impliki lin per interparolado.

¹⁵Then the Pharisees went and took counsel how they might entrap him in his talk.

¹⁶They sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that you are honest, and teach the way of God in truth, no matter whom you teach, for you aren’t partial to anyone.

¹⁷Diru do al ni, kiel sxajnas al vi? cxu konvenas doni tributon al Cezaro, aux ne?

¹⁷Tell us therefore, what do you think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”

¹⁸Sed Jesuo, sciante ilian ruzecon, diris:Kial vi min provas, hipokrituloj?

¹⁸But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, “Why do you test me, you hypocrites?

¹⁹Montru al mi la tributan moneron. Kaj ili alportis al li denaron.

¹⁹ Show me the tax money.” They brought to him a denarius.

²⁰Kaj li diris al ili:Kies estas cxi tiu bildo kaj la surskribajxo?

²⁰He asked them, “Whose is this image and inscription?”

²¹Ili diris al li:De Cezaro. Tiam li diris al ili:Redonu do al Cezaro la proprajxon de Cezaro, kaj al Dio la proprajxon de Dio.

²¹They said to him, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Give therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”

²²Kaj auxdinte, ili miris, kaj lin lasis kaj foriris.

²²When they heard it, they marveled, and left him, and went away.

²³En tiu sama tago alvenis al li Sadukeoj, kiuj diras, ke ne estas relevigxo; kaj ili demandis lin, dirante:

²³On that day Sadducees (those who say that there is no resurrection) came to him. They asked him,

²⁴Majstro, Moseo diris:Se iu mortas, ne havante infanojn, lia frato edzigxu kun lia edzino kaj naskigu idaron al sia frato.

²⁴saying, “Teacher, Moses said, ‘If a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed for his brother.’

²⁵Estis cxe ni sep fratoj; kaj la unua edzigxis kaj mortis, kaj ne havante idaron, lasis sian edzinon al sia frato;

²⁵Now there were with us seven brothers. The first married and died, and having no seed left his wife to his brother.

²⁶tiel same ankaux la dua, kaj la tria, gxis la sepa.

²⁶In the same way, the second also, and the third, to the seventh.

²⁷Kaj post cxiuj la virino mortis.

²⁷After them all, the woman died.

²⁸In the resurrection therefore, whose wife will she be of the seven? For they all had her.”

²⁹Sed Jesuo responde diris:Vi eraras, ne sciante la Skribojn, nek la potencon de Dio.

²⁹But Jesus answered them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.

³⁰CXar en la relevigxo oni nek edzigxas nek edzinigxas, sed estas kiel angxeloj en la cxielo.

³⁰ For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like God’s angels in heaven.

³¹Sed pri la relevigxo el la mortintoj, cxu vi ne legis tion, kio estis dirita al vi de Dio, nome:

³¹ But concerning the resurrection of the dead, haven’t you read that which was spoken to you by God, saying,

³²Mi estas la Dio de Abraham kaj la Dio de Isaak kaj la Dio de Jakob? Dio estas Dio ne de la mortintoj, sed de la vivantoj.

³² ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?’ Exodus 3:6 God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”

³³When the multitudes heard it, they were astonished at his teaching.

³⁴Sed la Fariseoj, auxdinte, ke li silentigis la Sadukeojn, kune kolektigxis.

³⁴But the Pharisees, when they heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, gathered themselves together.

³⁵Kaj unu el ili, legxisto, demandis lin, provante lin:

³⁵One of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, testing him.

³⁶Majstro, kiu estas la granda ordono en la legxo?

³⁶“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?”

³⁷Kaj li diris al li:Amu la Eternulon, vian Dion, per via tuta koro kaj per via tuta animo kaj per via tuta menso.

³⁷Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ Deuteronomy 6:5

³⁸CXi tiu estas la granda kaj la unua ordono.

³⁸ This is the first and great commandment.

³⁹Kaj dua estas simila al gxi:Amu vian proksimulon kiel vin mem.

³⁹ A second likewise is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ Leviticus 19:18

⁴⁰ The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.”

⁴¹Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question,

⁴²dirante:Kion vi pensas pri la Kristo? kies filo li estas? Ili diris al li:De David.

⁴²saying, “What do you think of the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “Of David.”

⁴³Li diris al ili:Kial do David, en la Spirito, lin nomas Sinjoro, dirante:

⁴³He said to them, “How then does David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying,

⁴⁴La Eternulo diris al mia Sinjoro: Sidu dekstre de Mi, GXis Mi faros viajn malamikojn benketo por viaj piedoj?

⁴⁴ ‘The Lord said to my Lord, sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet?’ Psalm 110:1

⁴⁵Se do David nomas lin Sinjoro, kiel li estas lia filo?

⁴⁵ “If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?”

⁴⁶Kaj neniu povis respondi unu vorton al li, nek iu post tiu tago plu kuragxis fari al li demandon.

⁴⁶No one was able to answer him a word, neither did any man dare ask him any more questions from that day forth.
