¹Sellepärast et meil on selline amet, nagu see on antud meile halastuse kaudu, me ei tüdi ära.

¹Therefore, having this ministry, as we have had mercy shewn us, we faint not.

²Me oleme lahti öelnud häbiväärseist asjust, mida peidetakse, me ei kasuta riukaid ega moonuta Jumala sõna, vaid esitame end tõe avaldamisega kõikide inimeste südametunnistusele Jumala ees.

²But we have rejected the hidden things of shame, not walking in deceit, nor falsifying the word of God, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every conscience of men before God.

³Kui meie evangeelium on siiski kinni kaetud, siis on see kinni kaetud neile, kes hukkuvad,

³But if also our gospel is veiled, it is veiled in those that are lost;

⁴neile uskmatuile, kellel praeguse aja jumal on mõtted sõgestanud, nii et neile ei koida evangeeliumi valgus Kristuse kirkuses, kes on Jumala kuju.

⁴in whom the god of this world has blinded the thoughts of the unbelieving, so that the radiancy of the glad tidings of the glory of the Christ, who is [the] image of God, should not shine forth [for them].

⁵Me ei kuuluta ju iseendid, vaid Jeesust Kristust Issandana, endid aga teie sulastena Jeesuse pärast.

⁵For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus Lord, and ourselves your bondmen for Jesus' sake.

⁶Sest see, kes ütles: 'Pimedusest paistku valgus!', on Jumal, kes on hakanud särama meie südames, et tekiks tunnetuse valgus Jeesuse Kristuse isikus olevast Jumala kirkusest.

⁶Because [it is] the God who spoke that out of darkness light should shine who has shone in our hearts for the shining forth of the knowledge of the glory of God in [the] face of [Jesus] Christ.

⁷See aare on meil aga saviastjates, et võrratult suur vägi oleks Jumala oma ja ei midagi meist.

⁷But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassingness of the power may be of God, and not from us:

⁸Meid ahistatakse igati, kuid me ei ole kitsikuses; me oleme nõutud, kuid mitte meeleheitel;

⁸every way afflicted, but not straitened; seeing no apparent issue, but our way not entirely shut up;

⁹meid kiusatakse taga, kuid me pole hüljatud; meid rõhutakse maha, kuid me ei hukku;

⁹persecuted, but not abandoned; cast down, but not destroyed;

¹⁰me kanname alati oma ihus Jeesuse surma, et ka Jeesuse elu avalduks meie ihus.

¹⁰always bearing about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our body;

¹¹Sest meid, kes me elame, antakse alatasa surma Jeesuse pärast, et ka Jeesuse elu avalduks meie surelikus ihus.

¹¹for we who live are always delivered unto death on account of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh;

¹²Nii on surm tegev meis, elu aga teis.

¹²so that death works in us, but life in you.

¹³Aga et meil on sellesama usu vaim, millest on kirjutatud: 'Ma usun, seepärast ma räägin', siis meiegi usume ja ka räägime,

¹³And having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, I have believed, therefore have I spoken; *we* also believe, therefore also we speak;

¹⁴teades, et see, kes äratas üles Issanda Jeesuse, äratab meidki koos Jeesusega üles ja seab enda ette koos teiega.

¹⁴knowing that he who has raised the Lord Jesus shall raise us also with Jesus, and shall present [us] with you.

¹⁵Kõik sünnib ju teie heaks, et arm üha enamate inimeste tänu kaudu rohkenedes kasvaks Jumala austuseks.

¹⁵For all things [are] for your sakes, that the grace abounding through the many may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.

¹⁶Seepärast me ei tüdi, vaid kuigi meie väline inimene kulub, uueneb seesmine inimene ometi päev-päevalt.

¹⁶Wherefore we faint not; but if indeed our outward man is consumed, yet the inward is renewed day by day.

¹⁷Sest see praeguse hetke kerge ahistus saavutab meile määratult suure igavese au,

¹⁷For our momentary [and] light affliction works for us in surpassing measure an eternal weight of glory;

¹⁸meile, kes me ei pea silmas nähtavat, vaid nähtamatut, sest nähtav on mööduv, nähtamatu aga igavene.

¹⁸while we look not at the things that are seen, but at the things that are not seen; for the things that are seen [are] for a time, but those that are not seen eternal.
