1Viimaks veel, vennad, palvetage meie eest, et Issanda sõna leviks ja kirgastuks nõnda nagu teiegi juures
1For the rest, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run and be glorified, even as also with you;
2ning et meid kistaks välja üleannetute ja kurjade inimeste käest. Sest usku ei ole kõikidel.
2and that we may be delivered from bad and evil men, for faith [is] not [the portion] of all.
3Aga ustav on Issand, kes teid kinnitab ja kurja eest hoiab.
3But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you and keep [you] from evil.
4Me oleme ju Issandas veendunud teie suhtes, et te olete teinud ja teete, mida me käsime.
4But we trust in the Lord as to you, that the things which we enjoin, ye both do and will do.
5Issand aga suunaku teie südamed Jumala armastuse ja Kristuse kannatlikkuse poole!
5But the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patience of the Christ.
6Aga meie käsime teid, vennad, meie Issanda Jeesuse Kristuse nimel vältida kõiki vendi, kes logelevad ja ei ela mitte pärimuse järgi, mille nad on meilt saanud.
6Now we enjoin you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw from every brother walking disorderly and not according to the instruction which he received from us.
7Te teate ju ise, kuidas te peate meid võtma eeskujuks, sest meie ei ole teie keskel logelnud
7For ye know yourselves how ye ought to imitate us, because we have not walked disorderly among you;
8ega ole kellegi juures leiba muidu söönud, vaid oleme vaeva nähes ja rühmates töötanud nii ööd kui päevad, et me ei koormaks kedagi teie seast.
8nor have we eaten bread from any one without cost; but in toil and hardship working night and day not to be chargeable to any one of you:
9Mitte et meil poleks seda meelevalda, vaid me tahaksime anda teile head eeskuju.
9not that we have not the right, but that we might give ourselves as an example to you, in order to your imitating us.
10Sest ka siis, kui olime teie juures, käskisime teid: 'Kes ei taha töötada, ärgu ka söögu!'
10For also when we were with you we enjoined you this, that if any man does not like to work, neither let him eat.
11Me kuuleme ju, et mõned teie keskel elavad korratult ja ei tööta, vaid janditavad.
11For we hear that [there are] some walking among you disorderly, not working at all, but busybodies.
12Niisuguseid me käsime ja manitseme Issandas Jeesuses Kristuses, et nad vaikselt töötades sööksid oma leiba.
12Now such we enjoin and exhort in [the] Lord Jesus Christ, that working quietly they eat their own bread.
13Teie aga, vennad, ärge tüdige head tehes!
13But *ye*, brethren, do not faint in well-doing.
14Aga kui mõni ei kuula, mida me oleme ütelnud selles kirjas, siis pange teda tähele ja ärge suhelge temaga, et ta hakkaks häbenema.
14But if any one obey not our word by the letter, mark that man, and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed of himself;
15Kuid ärge pidage teda vaenlaseks, vaid noomige teda kui venda.
15and do not esteem him as an enemy, but admonish [him] as a brother.
16Aga rahu Issand ise andku teile rahu alati ja igal viisil. Issand olgu teie kõikidega!
16But the Lord of peace himself give you peace continually in every way. The Lord [be] with you all.
17See tervitus on minu, Pauluse käega. See on tähiseks igas kirjas - nii kirjutan mina!
17The salutation by the hand of me, Paul, which is [the] mark in every letter; so I write.
18Meie Issanda Jeesuse Kristuse arm olgu teie kõikidega!
18The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you all.
