¹Ükski ei tohi võtta oma isa naist ega tõsta üles oma isa hõlma!

¹He that is a eunuch, whether he have been crushed or cut, shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah.

²Issanda kogudusse ei tohi tulla see, kes on kohitsetud pigistuse läbi või kellel on suguti ära lõigatud.

²A bastard shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah; even his tenth generation shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah.

³Värdjas ei tohi tulla Issanda kogudusse, isegi mitte ta kümnes põlv ei tohi tulla Issanda kogudusse.

³An Ammonite or Moabite shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah; even their tenth generation shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah for ever;

⁴Ammonlane ja moab ei tohi tulla Issanda kogudusse, isegi mitte kümnendas põlves ei tohi nad tulla Issanda kogudusse, mitte iialgi,

⁴because they met you not with bread and with water on the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt, and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor, of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee.

⁵sellepärast et nad ei tulnud teile teel vastu leiva ja veega, kui te lahkusite Egiptusest, ja et ta palkas su vastu Bileami, Beori poja Petoorist, Mesopotaamiast, sind needma.

⁵But Jehovah thy God would not listen to Balaam; and Jehovah thy God turned the curse into blessing unto thee, because Jehovah thy God loved thee.

⁶Aga Issand, su Jumal, ei tahtnud kuulata Bileami, vaid Issand, su Jumal, muutis needuse sulle õnnistuseks, sellepärast et Issand, su Jumal, sind armastas.

⁶Thou shalt not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days for ever.

⁷Ära küsi mitte iialgi nende õnnest ja heast käekäigust kogu oma eluaja!

⁷Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother. Thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a sojourner in his land.

⁸Ära põlga edomlast, sest ta on su vend! Ära põlga egiptlast, sest sa oled olnud võõras tema maal!

⁸Children that are born to them shall come into the congregation of Jehovah in the third generation.

⁹Lapsed, kes neile sünnivad kolmandas põlves, võivad tulla Issanda kogudusse.

⁹When thou goest forth into camp against thine enemies, then keep thee from every evil thing.

¹⁰Kui sa asud sõjaleeri oma vaenlaste vastu, siis hoidu kõigest, mis on kurjast!

¹⁰If there be with thee a man that is not clean from what hath happened in the night, then shall he go outside the camp; he shall not come inside the camp;

¹¹Kui su hulgas on mees, kes ei ole puhas öösel juhtunu pärast, siis mingu ta väljapoole leeri; ta ei tohi tulla leeri.

¹¹and it shall be, towards evening, he shall bathe in water: and at the going down of the sun he may come inside the camp.

¹²Aga õhtu jõudes ta pesku ennast veega, ja kui päike on loojunud, siis ta võib leeri tulla.

¹²Thou shalt have a place also outside the camp, and shalt go forth thither.

¹³Väljaspool leeri olgu sul üks paik, kuhu sa välja käid.

¹³And thou shalt have a shovel amongst thy weapons, and it shall be, when thou sittest down abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn back and cover that which is come from thee.

¹⁴Ja sul olgu labidake su relvade juures; kui sa väljas kükitad, siis kaeva sellega auguke ja kata kinni oma roe.

¹⁴For Jehovah thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; and thy camp shall be holy, that he see nothing unseemly with thee, and turn away from thee.

¹⁵Sest Issand, su Jumal, kõnnib keset su leeri, et päästa sind ja anda sinu vaenlased su kätte; seepärast olgu su leer püha, et ta ei näeks su juures mitte midagi sündsusevastast ega pöörduks sinust ära.

¹⁵Thou shalt not hand over to his master a bondman that hath escaped from his master unto thee:

¹⁶Orja, kes oma isanda juurest on põgenenud sinu juurde, ära loovuta tema isandale!

¹⁶he shall dwell with thee, even in thy midst, in the place that he shall choose in one of thy gates, where it seemeth good to him; thou shalt not oppress him.

¹⁷Ta asugu su juurde, sinu keskele paika, mille ta valib mõnes su väravaist, kus temale meeldib; ära tee temale liiga!

¹⁷There shall be no prostitute amongst the daughters of Israel, nor any Sodomite amongst the sons of Israel.

¹⁸Iisraeli tütarde hulgas ei tohi olla pühamu hoora ja Iisraeli poegade hulgas pühamu pordumeest.

¹⁸Thou shalt not bring the hire of a harlot, or the price of a dog, into the house of Jehovah thy God for any vow; for even both these are an abomination to Jehovah thy God.

¹⁹Sa ei tohi viia hoora palka ega koera hinda Issanda, oma Jumala kotta mõneks tõotusohvriks, sest ka need mõlemad on jäleduseks Issandale, su Jumalale.

¹⁹Thou shalt take no interest of thy brother, interest of money, interest of victuals, interest of anything that can be lent upon interest:

²⁰Oma vennalt ära võta kasu rahalt, elatustarbeilt või kõigelt muult, millelt saab võtta kasu!

²⁰of a foreigner thou mayest take interest, but of thy brother thou shalt not take interest; that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in all the business of thy hand in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

²¹Võõrale sa võid laenata kasu peale, aga oma vennale sa ei tohi laenata kasu peale, et Issand, su Jumal, õnnistaks sind kõiges, mille külge sa oma käe paned sellel maal, kuhu sa lähed, et seda pärida.

²¹When thou vowest a vow to Jehovah thy God, thou shalt not delay to perform it; for Jehovah thy God will certainly require it of thee, and it shall be sin in thee.

²²Kui sa annad mõne tõotuse Issandale, oma Jumalale, siis ära viivita seda täitmast, sest Issand, su Jumal, nõuab tõesti seda sinult ja see oleks sulle patuks.

²²But if thou forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.

²³Aga kui sa jätad tõotuse andmata, siis see ei ole sulle patuks.

²³What is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and do, as thou hast vowed to Jehovah thy God, the voluntary-offering that thou hast promised with thy mouth.

²⁴Pea seda, mis su huultelt on välja läinud, ja tee, mis sa vabatahtlikult oled tõotanud Issandale, oma Jumalale, nagu sa oma suuga oled rääkinud!

²⁴When thou comest into thy neighbour's vineyard, thou mayest eat grapes thy fill, according to thy desire, but thou shalt not put any in thy vessel.

²⁵Kui sa tuled oma ligimese viinamäele, siis võid süüa viinamarju, nii palju kui sa himustad ja et su kõht saab täis, aga oma taskusse ei tohi sa midagi panna.

²⁵When thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbour, thou mayest pluck ears with thy hand; but thou shalt not wave the sickle against thy neighbour's standing corn.

²⁶Kui sa tuled oma ligimese lõikamata vilja juurde, siis võid oma käega katkuda viljapäid, aga sa ei tohi panna sirpi oma ligimese vilja külge.
