¹Kuulake mind vaikides, saared, ja rahvad, koguge jõudu! Astuge ligi, rääkige siis, mingem üheskoos kohtu ette!

¹Keep silence before me, islands; and let the peoples renew [their] strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us draw near together to judgment.

²Kes äratas ida poolt selle, kel kordaminek kannul käib? Kes andis tema kätte rahvad ja alistas kuningad, et ta mõõk need põrmustaks ja ta amb teeks nad hajuvaiks kõrteks?

²Who raised up from the east him whom righteousness calleth to its foot? He gave the nations before him, and caused him to have dominion over kings; he gave them as dust to his sword, as driven stubble to his bow.

³Tema ajab neid taga, kulgeb ohutult rada, mida ta jalad ei käi.

³He pursued them, he passed on in safety, by a way he had never come with his feet.

⁴Kes on seda teinud ja teostanud? See, kes algusest peale on kutsunud rahvapõlvi: Mina, Issand, olen esimene ja olen viimastegi juures seesama.

⁴Who hath wrought and done [it], calling the generations from the beginning? I, Jehovah, the first; and with the last, I [am] HE.

⁵Saared nägid ja kartsid, maailma ääred värisesid, nad astusid ligi ja tulid.

⁵The isles saw [it], and feared; the ends of the earth trembled: they drew near, and came.

⁶Üks aitas teist ja ütles oma vennale: 'Ole vahva!'

⁶They helped every one his neighbour, and [each] said to his brother, Take courage.

⁷Valaja julgustab kullasseppa, naastu vasardaja alasil tagujat, öeldes joodetu kohta: 'See on hea!' ja kinnitades naeltega, et see ei kõiguks.

⁷And the artizan encouraged the founder, he that smootheth [with] the hammer him that smiteth on the anvil, saying of the soldering, It is good; and he fasteneth it with nails, that it be not moved.

⁸Aga sina, Iisrael, mu sulane, Jaakob, kelle ma olen valinud, mu sõbra Aabrahami sugu,

⁸But thou, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham, my friend

⁹sina, kelle ma võtsin maailma äärtest ja kutsusin selle kaugemaist paigust, öeldes sulle: 'Sina oled mu sulane, ma valisin sinu ega põlanud sind!' -

⁹-- thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called from the extremities thereof, and to whom I said, Thou art my servant, I have chosen thee and not rejected thee,

¹⁰ära karda, sest mina olen sinuga; ära vaata ümber, sest mina olen su Jumal: ma teen su tugevaks, ma aitan sind, ma toetan sind oma õiguse parema käega!

¹⁰-- Fear not, for I [am] with thee; be not dismayed, for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee, yea, I will help thee, yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

¹¹Vaata, häbenema ja piinlikkust tundma peavad kõik, kes on sinule vihased; olematuks saavad ja hukkuvad mehed, kes riidlevad sinuga.

¹¹Lo, all that are incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded; they that strive with thee shall be as nothing, and shall perish.

¹²Sa otsid, aga enam sa ei leia neid mehi, kes võitlevad sinu vastu; olematuks saavad ja lõpevad mehed, kes sõdivad sinu vastu.

¹²Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them -- them that contend with thee; they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.

¹³Sest mina olen Issand, su Jumal, kes kinnitab su paremat kätt, kes sulle ütleb: 'Ära karda, mina aitan sind!'

¹³For I, Jehovah, thy God, hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

¹⁴Ära karda, ussike Jaakob, väetike Iisrael, mina aitan sind, ütleb Issand ja su lunastaja, Iisraeli Püha.

¹⁴Fear not, thou worm Jacob, ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith Jehovah, and thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁵Vaata, ma panen sind pahmareeks, uueks ja paljuhambuliseks: sa peksad mägesid nagu reht ja jahvatad neid, teed künkad aganaiks;

¹⁵Behold, I have made of thee a new sharp threshing instrument having double teeth: thou shalt thresh and beat small the mountains, and shalt make the hills as chaff;

¹⁶sa tuulad neid, tuul kannab neid, torm puistab need laiali. Aga sina ise ilutsed Issanda tõttu, kiitled Iisraeli Püha tõttu.

¹⁶thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them; and thou shalt rejoice in Jehovah, thou shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁷Kui viletsad ja vaesed asjata otsivad vett ja nende keel kuivab janust, siis mina, Issand, kuulen neid, mina, Iisraeli Jumal, ei jäta neid maha.

¹⁷The afflicted and the needy seek water, and there is none; their tongue faileth for thirst: I, Jehovah, will answer them, [I], the God of Israel, will not forsake them.

¹⁸Ma panen jõed voolama viljatuil künkail ja allikad orgude põhjas; ma muudan järveks kõrbe ja veelätteiks põuase maa.

¹⁸I will open rivers on the bare heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness into a pool of water, and the dry land into water-springs.

¹⁹Ma istutan kõrbesse seedreid, akaatsiaid, mürte ja õlipuid; ma panen lagendikule küpresse koos plataanide ja piiniatega,

¹⁹I will give in the wilderness the cedar, acacia, myrtle, and oleaster; I will set in the desert the cypress, pine, and box-tree together;

²⁰et nad näeksid ja teaksid, tähele paneksid ja ühtlasi mõistaksid, et seda on teinud Issanda käsi ja selle on loonud Iisraeli Püha.

²⁰that they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of Jehovah hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.

²¹Tooge ette oma riiuasi, ütleb Issand, esitage oma tõendid, ütleb Jaakobi kuningas!

²¹Produce your cause, saith Jehovah; bring forward your arguments, saith the King of Jacob.

²²Esitage ja kuulutage meile, mis on tulemas! Jutustage endisist asjust, missugused need olid, et saaksime südamesse võtta ja mõista nende tulemusi! Või laske meid kuulda tulevasi asju,

²²Let them bring them forward, and declare to us what shall happen: shew the former things, what they are, that we may give attention to them, and know the end of them; -- or let us hear things to come:

²³kuulutage, mis tuleb pärastpoole, et me teaksime, kas te olete jumalad. Tehke ometi midagi, olgu head või kurja, et saaksime üheskoos imetleda ja näha.

²³declare the things that are to happen hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods; yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be astonished, and behold it together.

²⁴Vaata, teie ei olegi midagi ja teie töö on tühjast: kes teid eelistab, teeb jäledust.

²⁴Behold, ye are less than nothing, and your work is of nought; an abomination is he that chooseth you. ...

²⁵Mina äratasin põhja poolt ühe, ja ta tuli, päikesetõusu poolt mu nime appihüüdja, kes tallab valitsejaid nagu savi, otsekui sõtkuks potissepp saue.

²⁵I have raised up one from the north, and he shall come, -- from the rising of the sun, he who will call upon my name; and he shall come upon princes as on mortar, and as the potter treadeth clay.

²⁶Kes on seda kuulutanud algusest peale, et oleksime seda teadnud, et oleksime saanud öelda: 'Temal oli õigus!'? Ükski ei teatanud, ükski ei kuulutanud, ükski ei kuulnud teie sõnu.

²⁶Who hath declared [it] from the beginning, that we may know? and beforetime, that we may say, [It is] right? Indeed, there is none that declareth; no, none that sheweth; no, none that heareth your words.

²⁷Vaata, mina olin esimene, kes kuulutas Siionile: 'Näe, siin nad on!' ja andis Jeruusalemmale hea sõnumi tooja.

²⁷The first, [I said] to Zion, Behold, behold them! and to Jerusalem, I will give one that bringeth glad tidings.

²⁸Ja kui ma vaatan, siis ei olegi kedagi, ja neist ei ole nõuandjat, et saaksin neilt küsida ja nad annaksid vastuse.

²⁸And I beheld, and there was no man; even among them, -- and there was no counsellor, that, when I asked of them, could answer a word.

²⁹Vaata, nad kõik on tühised, nende teod on eimiski, nende valatud kujud on tühipaljas tuul.

²⁹Behold, they are all vanity, their works are nought, their molten images are wind and emptiness.
