¹Ja Issand rääkis Moosesega, öeldes:

¹And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

²'Räägi Aaroni ja ta poegade ning kõigi Iisraeli lastega ja ütle neile: Issand on käskinud öelda nõnda:

²Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them, This is the thing which Jehovah hath commanded, saying,

³Kes iganes Iisraeli soost tapab härja või lamba või kitse, leeris või väljaspool leeri,

³Every one of the house of Israel that slaughtereth an ox, or sheep, or goat, in the camp, or that slaughtereth it out of the camp,

⁴aga ei vii seda kogudusetelgi ukse juurde ohvrianni toomiseks Issandale Issanda eluaseme ees, sellele loetakse see veresüüks: ta on valanud verd, ja see mees tuleb hävitada oma rahva seast!

⁴and doth not bring it to the entrance of the tent of meeting to present it as an offering to Jehovah, before the tabernacle of Jehovah, blood shall be reckoned unto that man: he hath shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people,

⁵Seepärast toogu Iisraeli lapsed oma ohvriloomad, mis nad seni väljal tapsid, ja viigu kogudusetelgi ukse juurde preestri kätte ja tapku need tänuohvriks Issandale!

⁵to the end that the children of Israel bring their sacrifices, which they sacrifice in the open field, that they bring them to Jehovah, unto the entrance of the tent of meeting, unto the priest, and sacrifice them as sacrifices of peace-offerings to Jehovah.

⁶Ja preester piserdagu veri Issanda altarile kogudusetelgi ukse ees ning süüdaku rasv põlema Issandale meeldivaks lõhnaks!

⁶And the priest shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar of Jehovah, at the entrance of the tent of meeting, and burn the fat for a sweet odour to Jehovah.

⁷Ja nad ei tohi enam tappa oma tapaohvreid paharettidele, kelle järel nad hoora viisil käivad: see olgu nende sugupõlvedele igaveseks seaduseks!

⁷And they shall no more sacrifice their sacrifices unto demons, after whom they go a whoring. This shall be an everlasting statute unto them for their generations.

⁸Ja ütle neile: Igaüks Iisraeli soost ja nende keskel asuvaist võõraist, kes ohverdab põletus- või tapaohvrit,

⁸And thou shalt say unto them, Every one of the house of Israel, and of the strangers who sojourn among them, that offereth up a burnt-offering or sacrifice,

⁹aga ei vii seda kogudusetelgi ukse juurde Issandale ohverdamiseks, tuleb hävitada oma rahva seast!

⁹and bringeth it not to the entrance of the tent of meeting, to offer it up to Jehovah -- that man shall be cut off from his peoples.

¹⁰Ja kui keegi Iisraeli soost ja nende keskel asuvaist võõraist sööb mingisugust verd, siis ma pööran oma palge selle veresööja vastu ja hävitan tema ta rahva seast.

¹⁰And every one of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who sojourn among them, that eateth any manner of blood, -- I will set my face against the soul that hath eaten blood, and will cut him off from among his people;

¹¹Sest liha hing on veres, ja selle ma olen teile andnud altari jaoks lepituse toimetamiseks teie hingede eest; sest veri lepitab temas oleva hinge tõttu.

¹¹for the soul of the flesh is in the blood; and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls, for it is the blood that maketh atonement for the soul.

¹²Seepärast ma olen öelnud Iisraeli lastele: Ükski teist ei tohi verd süüa, ka teie keskel asuv võõras ei tohi verd süüa!

¹²Therefore have I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall the stranger who sojourneth among you eat blood.

¹³Igaüks Iisraeli lastest ja nende keskel asuvaist võõraist, kes kütib söödava jahilooma või linnu, peab selle vere maha kallama ja mullaga katma.

¹³And every one of the children of Israel, and of the strangers who sojourn among them, that catcheth in the hunt a beast or fowl that may be eaten, he shall pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with earth;

¹⁴Sest kõige liha hing on tema hinge sisaldav veri. Ja ma ütlen Iisraeli lastele: Te ei tohi süüa mitte ühegi liha verd, sest iga liha hingeks on ta veri. Igaüks, kes seda sööb, hävitatagu!

¹⁴for as to the life of all flesh, its blood is the life in it; and I have said unto the children of Israel, Of the blood of no manner of flesh shall ye eat, for the life of all flesh is its blood: whoever eateth it shall be cut off.

¹⁵Ja igaüks, kes sööb raibet või mahamurtud looma, olgu päriselanik või võõras, peab pesema oma riided ja loputama ennast veega ning olema õhtuni roojane; siis ta on puhas!

¹⁵And every soul that eateth of a dead carcase, or of that which was torn, be it one home-born, or a stranger, he shall wash his clothes, and bathe in water, and be unclean until the even: then he shall be clean.

¹⁶Aga kui ta ei pese ja oma ihu ei loputa, siis ta kannab oma patusüüd.'

¹⁶And if he wash them not nor bathe his flesh, then he shall bear his iniquity.
