1And Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests, and they built the sheep-gate. They hallowed it, and set up its doors; and they hallowed it even to the tower of Meah, to the tower of Hananeel.

33Aga kui Sanballat kuulis, et me müüri ehitame, siis ta vihastus ja oli väga pahane; ta pilkas juute
34ja rääkis oma vendade ja Samaaria sõjaväe ees ning ütles: 'Mida need väetid juudid teevad? Kas see peaks neile jääma? Kas nad hakkavad ohverdama? Kas nad juba täna saavad valmis? Kas nad tahavad põlenud kivid rusuhunnikust teha kõlblikuks?'
35Ja tema kõrval oli ammonlane Toobija, kes ütles: 'Ehitagu aga! Kui rebane peaks minema nende kivimüüri peale, ta kisuks selle maha!'
36Kuule, meie Jumal, kuidas meid põlastatakse! Pööra nende teotus nende endi pähe ja anna nad riisutavaiks vangistusemaal!
37Ära kata kinni nende süütegu ja ära lase kustuda nende pattu oma palge eest, sest nad on ehitajaid pahandanud!
