¹So ermahne ich euch nun, ich, der Gebundene im Herrn, daß ihr würdig wandelt der Berufung, zu welcher ihr berufen worden seid,

⁷Jedem einzelnen von uns aber ist die Gnade gegeben nach dem Maß der Gabe Christi.

²⁴und den neuen Menschen anziehen sollt, der nach Gott geschaffen ist in Gerechtigkeit und Heiligkeit der Wahrheit.

²⁵Darum leget die Lüge ab und redet die Wahrheit, ein jeder mit seinem Nächsten, denn wir sind untereinander Glieder.

²⁶Zürnet ihr, so sündiget nicht; die Sonne gehe nicht unter über eurem Zorn!

²⁹Keine schlechte Rede gehe aus eurem Munde, sondern was gut ist zur notwendigen Erbauung, daß es den Hörern wohltue.

³⁰Und betrübet nicht den heiligen Geist Gottes, mit welchem ihr versiegelt worden seid auf den Tag der Erlösung.
